Police seek missing/endangered Lancaster man

LANCASTER COUNTY — Manheim Township Police are searching for a 40-year-old Lancaster man considered a missing/endangered person.

Joseph P. Valentin, of the 1100 block of Elm Avenue, left his residence, and family members and police have been unable to contact him, police say. His family is concerned for his welfare and ability to care for himself.

Valentin is described as a Hispanic man. It is not known what kind of clothes he was wearing when he went missing, police say. He does not have access to any kind of vehicle.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Manheim Township Police at (717) 569-6401.

Manheim Township police Lt. Robert Baldwin confirmed the investigation and said as of Thursday afternoon, they believe the death is not suspicious.
Early investigation into body found along Conestoga River finds death ‘not suspicious’: police

Could be waiting on DNA for positive ID. Also, not a suspicious death - accident? suicide? Some jurisdictions don't release names of suicides.
The article you quoted was dated August 15, 2019. Here is another article, but from September 6, 2019, that gives the identity (I bolded the name):

Two different men. The body @Gardener1850 and I referred to was found August 15th in Lancaster Twp. Mr Wagner was found September 6th in East Lampeter Twp.

Upon further research, the section of the Connestoga River where both bodies were found is where 3 townships converge. They were found within a 1/2 miles of each other, possibly as close as a city block (addresses were approximate). Once identified, these men were only 3 years apart in age--one was 50, the other was 53. I contacted Mannheim police in an e-mail, asking about the identification of the Aug 15th body, and they emailed me an answer. I don't know if it is against TOS, but it is not Joseph Valentin. I can attach my email (with my identification removed) if it is wanted, but this was their response:

"Good morning Ms. Pittman,

Yes, the decedent was identified as Russel Reeser, M/50, of Columbia, PA.
