"His obituary says he loved playing with monster trucks and cars, singing country music, and eating pickles."

Landon's biological grandmother, Kathie Sheffler, told police she did not notice any signs of abuse until April of 2022 when
Lauren no longer let her see Landon.

Emphasis mine.
Red flag, there.

Awful.
What disgusting monsters.
Why adopt a precious little boy only to essentially beat him to death ?
He must have been so terrified and confused.
Prob. nothing he did could please them.
Omo.

Rest in gentle peace, Landon !

A doctor at Children's Hospital said that the adoptive parents they should have called 911 immediately, saying that Landon had suffered three brain bleeds and that his brain was "obliterated," according to the criminal complaint.

An autopsy determined that Landon had "blunt force trauma to his head and neck, blunt force trauma to his torso, and blunt force trauma to his extremities," Ziccarelli said.

Investigators said the child had numerous bruises on his body, and because of the severity of his injuries, he "could not breathe on his own, and had rotational head trauma consistent with severe child abuse," according to the district attorney.

Furthermore, medical staff at the hospital reportedly told investigators that when the couple arrived at the facility they appeared to show “no urgency,” and they said that Landon was just “wobbly from COVID a month prior.”

Monsters.
They could have let a childless couple who would have loved him adopt him.

This case deserves much more attention.

I guess it's believable that they'd have no remorse and make a money grab, since there appears to be something very sick and very dark about these two.

Why do people like this become parents? Clearly they are not stable or patient enough. As the grandmother, I would have been calling the agency/authorities.

It could be that grandparents didn't know.
But I wonder what any of their "friends" saw or thought.
I wonder how they managed to adopt him and why they chose to. Did they receive financial support, including after the adoption?

From June 2024: Court proceedings but the case had not gone to trial. Has a photo of the accused.

(I don't know why the article link shows up that way.)

Can anyone find anything else? Maybe this case will be going to trial this year.
