A little premature, no?

Maybe that is the case but if there was evidence of such JS would have already been charged with something beyond kidnapping. IMO
Not premature. Odds against survival is slim and what LE released points to that. It was just my opinion. MOO

Edited blank message to say that the last line of the wgal article says police are looking for the car. EAST EARL TOWNSHIP: Crews look for missing Amish teen

H
owever, nothing to that effect is mentioned in the DA’s info. They are asking if people have seen his car, not because it’s missing, but to see where it’s been.
NEWS POST: Paradise Man Charged with Kidnapping 18YO Linda Stoltzfoos as Search for
That's what I thought originally that they were looking for witnesses who saw the car after her abduction. I noticed the link said JS was arrested at his place of employment on Friday night. So he might work a night shift. Plenty of freedom to be out and about during the day.

On Harvest Dr. in Ronks, Lancaster Co. where authorities say they found a bra & stockings believed to be worn by Linda Stoltzfoos, the 18-year-old Amish woman, who went missing on Father's Day. Police arrested Justo Smoker who they say kidnapped her.

There is a small circular object that looks like a camera, connected to a cord mounted over the middle door of the three bay garage. It is at the correct angle to have taken the picture of his car in front of the silos.
But, it boggles my mind that he would take her from that spot because of the house across the street being so close to the road and the business itself being right on the road. How could he think no one would see what was happening in real time?

I thought there was a wire with dash cam just above the garage doors. I zoomed in twice to make sure. It is on Google Earth.
To me that looks like an electrical cable that was run from the inside and simply tacked to the wall, for use to connect something unspecified. Honestly thats my impression. Im thinking that the FBI enhancement of the video, was to focus in on the left of a full street view, and clean up the image of suspect vehicle. The cord on the garage looks like an old brown extension cord.

All that corn... although knee high at the time, most likely. But still you can toss things into a cornfield driving by or by walking into one. Instead he buries some of the clothes behind a building that may or may not be known to him. And why those particular items (weren't those only a few of the items they found, the bra and stockings)?
I wonder if this was part of some gang initiation? Maybe one he became affiliated with while in prison and stayed in contact with. Do a crime, get a badge. Abduct and rape a woman. And poor Linda was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I don't know what you are looking at HailedSunSea. The garage with three doors has a white wire coming out of the left side of the middle door going up and a small black cam attached to it. This garage has 3 doors, the door on the right has something covering the glass windows, perhaps paper. This garage is across from building with silo.

I thought that too, but then why would they put an outlet so high up? They would have to set up a ladder to plug a cord in each time they used it.

It doesn’t appear LE or EMS are searching for Linda today. I was listening to the radio and have not heard anything related, and they are not showing up on the EMS site.

I agree it looks like a camera. It appears like someone just ran a cord out of the corner of the garage door at the top corner to power the camera.

You got it Maplesyrup, that's exactly what someone did. Google Maps and Google Earth shows the exact same image.

There are indeed gangs in Lancaster. With his criminal history and time in jail, I’m sure he has ties.

Well, as they say on The Simpsons, “Who knows more about electricity than the Amish?”

Welcome to Lancaster County lol.

I am hoping and watching for clarification from LE whether the have JS’s car or not.

Unless it was used to light up a sign.

Gangs can be anywhere. I just don't see this particular case being a gang initiation. MHO.

Respectfully, I disagree. No they wouldn't at this juncture for there is no need for them to do so.

It's very common now in murder cases for LE to arrest the suspect on other charges in order to hold them while the hunt for his vehicle, and Linda continues.

The DA can add additional charges at any time which imo, they will add murder charges, and possibly aggravated rape if the evidence they have showing she's been harmed has not only her blood on it, but his semen.

agreed! I never hear any Lancaster County natives say anything good about Philly. It’s often stereotyped as being dangerous and awful. Just as Lancaster County is often stereotyped for being country fam lands and Amish.
Being from Philly I can tell you I never heard of such gang initiations!
