In this section of the PC affidavit, LE has described the exact moment when LS was kidnapped. In the highlighted area, LE describes the actions of JS as “consistent with placing something over her head”. The two then “walk together” back to where his vehicle is parked.
There has been some speculation that JS placed some type of hood over LS’s head. I am thinking now that he actually placed a shoelace(s) over head/around her neck and told her to walk with him. If he placed a hood over her head, he was taking a big risk if someone drove by. It would be quite obvious what was going on. I also think she would be seen to be struggling more. By using a shoelace around her neck, he could control her. He could tell her to walk with him and she wouldn’t be hurt. He could gather the lace in one hand, held tautly, at the rear of her neck as they walked and to a passerby it would merely look like a couple walking with the male’s arm around the women’s shoulders.
I think JS then drove to the church parking lot and proceeded to tie her hands and ankles with more of the shoelaces. He may have assaulted her at this time, but he was only there for 5 minutes. He probably told her to sit still and not do anything that would draw attention to them as they drove.
None of the eyewitnesses reported seeing her with some type of hood over her head, but a couple noticed she didn’t wave as they passed which would have been the Amish custom.

I can't bring myself to "like" this, but it rings true. You may have deciphered it exactly.

That poor terrified girl.

@crhedBngr - me again - just wondering IF there might be an update on the next hearing? I can not access the link you gave up thread...

TIA! :)

@Niner : The last date on JS' Docket Sheet is 11/25/20. The judge granted a Motion for Continuance.

So, as far as I can tell, there isn't another hearing scheduled (on the Docket Sheet).

If I'm looking in the wrong place, please let me know.

Thanks.

Sounds right to me! Thanks for the update, as it is.... :)

Would the Amish couples who were were walking and saw LS in the truck be called to testify in this case. If called, would they appear?

A man has been arrested in the kidnapping of 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos, who has been missing since Sunday, June 21, 2020. In July, police arrested Justo Smoker, 34, of Paradise, Pennsylvania. They examined video from a homeowner’s security system that shows what they believe to be Smother’s vehicle near where a woman, believed to be Linda, is seen walking along Beechdale Road near her home. Authorities traced the car to Smoker and executed a search warrant. Officials have not released what was found in their search. Smoker is charged with felony kidnapping and a misdemeanor charge of false imprisonment. Linda has not been found. She was last seen at a farm on Stumptown Road in Lancaster County, after attending a church service. When Linda didn’t make it to her youth group later that evening, her parents became concerned and contacted the police. A Facebook page called “Amish Girl Missing - Linda Stoltzfoos” has been created to aid in the search for Linda. Several photos and videos have been shared to the page of community members volunteering to help with the search. Linda is described as 5'10", 125 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes. Investigators are asking anyone who might have seen Smoker or his red Kia Rio sedan - license plate KYB-9713 - around the time Linda was abducted, or in the days after, to contact East Lampeter Township Police Department at 717-291-4676 or to submit a tip on the Crime Watch website.
