PA PA - Monroe Twp, 'Penny Doe', WhtFem 20-40, 246UFPA, near RR trestle, Rt leg broken, Jul'90

Frances Morales (as previously discussed) looks like a real good possible here.

No word back on her?

On a different note, details about her teeth are interesting. People who never saw a dentist and yet made it to adulthood without ever having a single cavity must be quite rare. I think she never saw a dentist because if she had the dentist would at least have pulled the lingering baby tooth. I wonder how common it is to still have a baby tooth at such an "advanced" age?

This is totally co-incidentally related- I had a childhood friend from rural PA who had the dental "deformity" of having baby teeth behind her adult teeth (I saw it myself- her parents were too cheap to pay to have it fixed so she just lived with it. Not a hardship b/c she was a very tall big girl with a lot of room in her mouth.)

I personally feel that music festival might have a lot to do with Penny Doe ending up where she did. An unreported auto accident death would make a lot of sense. (or a staged accident to cover a rape/murder.) I also agree who ever caused her death is from around there.

Hi! I've been researching this case, and reading others' posts on it. Given the circumstances, I'm surprised it hasn't been solved yet. I did have some thoughts on it:

Was Penny's "baby tooth" really a supernumary tooth? There are a few different medical conditions that could cause this. Someone mentioned that PD had a deformation of the sternum. There is a condition that causes this, as well as extra teeth. Knowing this for sure could help with IDing her.

Has a forensics test ever bern done to determine what caused the blunt force trauma to PD's skull? There was a theory that she jumped or was thrown from a train. The injury I saw in the skull photo on NAMUS doesn't appear to be the kind of injury that would result from that.

Has a DNA/fingerprint analysis ever been done on the letter sent to LE? Is the letter believed to have been sent by the killer?

I hope there is a break in this case soon. There is a family somewhere seeking answers.

Fwiw, probably not related, but just want to note, that there was a 1983 case in Toronto where a murdered child Sharin' Morningstar Keenan, was found with a dollar ( likely placed by killer) in her pocket. imo
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-Morningstar-Keenan-9-Toronto-23-January-1983

wonder if it was left by her killer
in greek mythology the souls of the dead had to pay caron, the ferryman, to row them across the river styx which was the boundary between the living and the dead, that was why many people were buried with coins over their eyelids

I have wondered whether that tradition is related. I've also known people who carried pennies for luck in one or both pockets.

Penny's Namus page (https://identifyus.org/cases/6580) has photos of her skull and teeth, for anyone who wants to look in more detail or have a try at their own reconstruction.

Alicia Markovich looks like a definite possibility.

I saw a couple people mention trying to research the brand lable on the vest she was wearing.

Looks like they stopped producing in late 80's since trademark was not renewed. I did happen to find someone selling some items on etsy and asked if they knew where they were originally purchased. Waiting for a response.

Two things that came to mind were that the clothing i have seen has all been from the 70's so these were either hand me downs or thrift store finds. Also, has anyone talked about her being from further out of state and coming into town specifically for the music concert? I didn't see mention of how big an event it was.
