I had Linette Marie Miller down as a possible for the 1978 Lumberton NC Jane Doe. (Linette is not yet listed on any of the missing persons sites).

NC NC - Lumberton, WhtFem (UP1882), 15-18, In Cornfield Near Asphalt Plant, Jun'78

However, she has a facial shape closer to TGWTTJ.

Linette was last seen sometime around early 1978. She was hitchhiking to Idaho from the East Coast and was known to catch rides from truck drivers. Her sister says that she was about 5'1" when she was 16, and may have grown an inch or two thereafter. Her DOB is 30-Aug-1961, so she would have been about 16 at the time of her disappearance.

I have no idea whether she was known to have clothing and jewelry similar to what was found with this Jane Doe.

Linette Marie Miller's family should report her as missing and submit DNA samples. At the very least she should be in Namus

Why have they not done so?

There are 2 possible matches right there. A DNA comparison would confirm if Linette is a match or not.

Someone decided that she was a possible for Caledonia Jane Doe, although it is obvious to me that she is not. But from what I understand, the detective in charge of Cali's case has obtained a DNA sample from Linette's sister, and he is entering her case into NamUs. If he has, it hasn't been published yet.

Incidentally, I gave her sister a heads up on this, and she said that although Linette would wear turquoise jewelry if it was given to her, she is unaware of her ever owning any. She also said that Linette was only about 5'1" to 5'2" - much shorter than the 5'4" estimate for TGWTTJ, so she is probably not TGWTTJ.

How sure are they about the height of both?

I wouldn't rule her out on that alone. But her sister seems to be content with waiting for the DNA FRS to be processed and run through NamUs and CODIS. If she doesn't get any hits, then she will start looking for individual cases that don't have DNA profiles.

Linette Marie Miller

The DNA was held up because they wanted 2 sibling samples. Sister 1 gave a sample in early May; sister 2 in early June; they were then sent out together. Their DNA has not been processed.

Once it has been processed; they will get run through the system. If Linette is any of the UP's they will have an answer; if not; Linette will get listed as missing & the DNA samples will go with her NamUs profile.

Her sister is going through hell waiting. Had her sample been sent out when it was taken; it would be processed by now. Snuf recently made a match with Greg Devita; a relative sample was taken around the same time as Linette's sister; they had answers a few weeks ago. Hopefully; her sister will know something soon. I hope so because I hate knowing that she's in limbo.

Using the facial dimensions depicted in the NCMEC ct-scan recon, I put together my own estimation of what "The Girl With the Turquoise Jewelry" may have looked like.

1d3c404f-3c3f-4e5e-b976-bc22ffee3d4b.jpg

(Note that this facial reconstruction is based on the NCMEC reconstruction (shown above in the upper-left corner) that was created from a CT-Scan image of her skull. This is only an estimation of how she might have looked in life. Details such as her overall look, and the shape of her eyes, lips, etc. are not intended to be an exact likeness)

I don't think I had noticed the jewelry before. I used to have a ring that was identical to her necklace pendant. Same size, same shape, same knobby trim around it. It was labeled as genuine Hopi and I'm pretty sure my mother got it when we went to the Grand Canyon in the early 60's.

There are now 53 ruleouts on her Namus page. Simone Stephanie Ridinger is one of them. Connie Michaca is not. Mary Gregory isn't listed either, but since she's Canadian, she wouldn't be.

I had similar jewelry too bought from the Flea Market in Union NJ. There's another on route 1 in Edison NJ.
Here is her album on Never Forget MeI may still have the post earrings; not sure if I still have the rin; someone went in my jewelry box a few years ago; wiped out my rings

Has anyone thought about this girl Selinda Winegar? http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/w/winegar_selinda.html

She went missing from Vermont in March of 1979
16 years old
She had her ears pierced and wore rings on her fingers
She has blonde/light brown hair
It does say that she had a slight gap between her two front teeth, and I know that the UID has dentals available
She does have DNA on file according to NamUS but it doesn't say what kind...
She isn't listed on the UID's ruleout list

It might be a long shot, but what do you think?

In this case, Dr. France determined, based on her hair, the girl may have visited the Southwest in the months prior to her death. That matches a theory investigators had already formed, based on her Indian-style jewelry.

“That was very rewarding to see maybe my data may actually confirm what they know and give them impetus to look in that area a little more strongly,” Dr. France said.

And what’s more; based on her teeth, Dr. France believes the girl grew up in the Great Lakes region or possibly in southern Canada. Based on that information, new fliers were sent to Canadian authorities.

Laurie Sebrell was just added to NamUs recently.

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/28556/0

I wish there was more information on her, or a photo somewhere.

The available information on her marginally fits this Jane Doe.

Her date LKA (5-Nov-1978) is just about right for this Jane Doe's estimated date of death.
Her age is at the low end of Jane Doe's age range.
Her height (between 5'9" to 6'1") barely intersects the Jane Doe's height estimate (5'2" to 5'9")
She had blonde hair, compared to Jane Doe's dark blonde to light brown hair.

Here they are - Her Junior and Senior photos from the Butler High School (Augusta GA) 1967 and 68 yearbooks:

This is off topic for AGJD, but I couldn't find a thread for Mary Kay Radford. Do you think she might possibly be The Girl With The Turquoise Jewelry? The age is right, the hair looks similar from the photos, and I think the nose and mouth are pretty similar. I couldn't find any information on Mary Kay Radford's height and weight.

I originally posted this on Arroyo Grande Jane Doe's thread after "Mary Kay Radford" was suggested as a match for AGJD, but I thought she looked close to The Girl With The Turquoise Jewelry.
