Sadly, a thunderstorm is now moving into Philadelphia where there is an active hostage situation.

What's sad about that? It's good news, will disperse the crowd!

If this is one of the officer shooting victims, it is better to see this than what often happens in these kinds of shooting situations.

"The shooter fired multiple rounds. Officers returned fire - many of whom had to escape through windows and doors to get [away] from a barrage of bullets," said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross.

The commissioner did confirm that two police officers remained trapped inside the home. However, around 9:20 p.m. police said the officers were freed from the home. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Locals, has the rain started there yet?

I am probably 25 minutes South of the location outside the city, and the skies just opened up. It's pouring.

Is there a presser going on?

The crowd is dangerous. I'm sure some of them are not police-friendly. They mingle among the bystanders who are just curious. Crowds mean more officers are needed to guard the ones who are neck deep in bad situation and not as many cops available for other emergencies in the area.

Police officers who were trapped inside house have been safely evacuated

Philadelphia Police Sgt. Eric Gripp said on Twitter that the two officers who were barricaded inside the row house with the suspect have been safely evacuated by the SWAT team.

"Suspect is still armed and inside house," he wrote. "Continue to avoid the area."

Watching Mayor and Police Chief being interviewed. Seems to have been from earlier though. Good news update: All 6 wounded officers have been released from the hospital..
