Even factoring out the second report, the story still had numerous holes in it. RFG was the actual prosecutor, it would have been difficult to stage the disappearance, and it would have been unlikely for an admitted FBI informant to get his "old boys" to ride out to get RFG.

Correction: RFG did not prosecute the case; Sloane did.

JJ... whats the word with SPM's request for an investigative grand jury? Was it approved? Do we or will we know the scope of what it seeks to investigate?

Well you should it will be not her and being with the oldest law firm in centre county I am sure the are some files she cant get unless its a pay back some say she is nasty and also the whole county just loves her being the top rated DA

I would think it will be on going and top secret not sure if she can grab the RG case again that might be off limits to everyone like shut down

Sorry to be lazy and not read the entire thread....but i only saw the 'disappeared' episode about this case...was/is there anymore info on him being seen in a shop close to his car with a woman? i remember at the time thinking instantly that he's simply left with another woman, simply dumping the laptop and leaving his car so the trail/hunt for him stays at that location.Unless that has been disproved or explained,i think that is still the most likely scenario...too many cases get too many theories and the more straightforward cause gets lost in history.....JMO of course.

No, nothing more except that, at the time, they thought it was Barbara Petito. She was on Long Island at the time, however.

No local woman, or woman that had any connection to him, was missing, however.

Thanks for that......JMO he met the woman at that spot and left with her....she doesn't live in area and is single so wouldn't be 'missing' at any time.
If he/they planned to move away together (she could be from miles away anyway) it's not unlikely it was someone nobody would find a connection with?

I don't think there was any woman in Central PA that was missing.

.....but if the woman was either...someone he had 'recently' met or an old 'friend' he had got back in touch with....who was or became SINGLE and lived in another state she would never be classed as missing, and be almost traceless unless they could find a phone number from Rays cell (if they even have it?) or his work landline..to link him with her?

Seems simple....i don't understand why a woman would need to be missing for this to be a possibility??

There are no known women like that. If this woman did run off with RFG, why isn't she missing? Why doesn't someone recognize the "new man" in her klife, if they are still in the same place?

JJ I asked you before what this woman would be if she was with RG in the morning (friday) before that phone call came in at 11:30 am I will ask you one more time what your thought would be

I would not know. Any woman with him would not be able to get out of Lewisburg, as a practical matter. If there was a woman with him, how did she get out of Lewisburg and back to Bellefonte (where her vehicle would have been)? If her car was parked in Lewisburg, how did she get to Bellefonte in the first place?

I think RFG could have met someone in Lewisburg, including a woman.

The abduction theory is lowest on my list at this point as it would have been a complicated process to lure RG to Lewisburg, have all the elements in place and the number of people needed to pull off an abduction. One person can keep a secret. The chances of the secret getting out rises in direct relation to the number of people involved.

I cannot get the Fenton sighting out of my head. If credible, it changes where RG went missing from, and possibly why.

And the article missed Ludwig Derr, the founder of Lewisburg who went missing on a trip to Philadelphia.
