MyFox Philadelphia | First On Fox: Feds Think Couple's Disappearance Was Hit

"The sophistication in which some of the evidence was removed makes this a murder for hire and well planned out scheme," said FBI Assistant Special Agent In Charge Jayne Challman...
Sorry to quote my own post but after rereading this upon reposting it just now, the bolded part strikes me very odd. What evidence? Removed from where? And how can one determine the sophistication in which evidence has been removed unless there's a location from which they've discovered a removal of evidence? Interesting. Ideas?

When I see that, I think the following:
Lack of vehicle/victims- ie: evidence
Pretty well hidden financial trail
Lack of links between the subject and the perp or "hitman"

That's how I took it too.

I would agree completely if they had used a word like "concealed". To use the word "removed" is what piques my interest.

My gut feeling when I read this, was the removal of the tape showing the vehicles crossing the bridge that night.
That is why it is not known for certain if Richie's truck actually drove over the bridge that night/morning.

Very interesting idea. I think I remember reading, though, that they had viewed the tapes and none of them showed the truck. Nothing that I can remember about missing tapes.

I have read a local news report that stated that the truck was not seen on the vidio tape of either the Ben Franklin or Walt Whittman bridge.. That suggests that there was a tape available for both bridges. It is a little short of saying they did not cross either bridge and it doesn't give a time frame but it creats serious problems for any "murder theory" that suggests that they headed straight back to Mt Laural and what ever happened happened after they crossed the bridge. I believe that, for whatever reason, they did not head straight back to Mt Laural. I can't see how anything, an abduction, mishap or random carjacking, could have happened in the short distance between State St and the bridge (the Ben Frankliun would have been the direct rout to Mt Laurel). Had they decided to go "somewhere else" then all kinds of possibilities exist, but how do you explaion a "planned abduction" if they were somewhere nobody expected them to be?

I wonder what the traffic reports were that night. They could have avoided those bridges altogether if there was construction going on- which they do very often at night.

  • #389
Oh... and maybe they swung by his house before going to hers?
I would also like to know where they parked... I've parked at 4th and Catherine many times... as well as the little strip lot where they filmed the Sixth Sense. Other times we just took the subway and then walked it from Broad all the way to 6th, etc.

There is one other good possibility of a bridge in the Betsy Ross. A less likely, although still nearby, bridge is the Tacony Palmyra. There's also the Burlington Bristol but that one would make no sense since they would probably not have been anywhere near that bridge.

Was anything ever mentioned about tapes from the Betsy Ross or the Tacony?

Entirely possible if someone was either following them or lying in wait at Danielle's house waiting for her. Anyone that knew that she lived with only the baby and that the baby was with the father until Danielle would have picked him up (or whatever the arrangement was) could have just stayed and waited for her, no matter when she decided to go home. Or it could be that someone lured them somewhere or forced them somewhere by being in the vehicle when Richie and Danielle got in at the end of the night.

Mt. Laurel isn't located as soon as you get off of the bridge. You have to drive for 5-10 minutes. Besides, something happening across the bridge could have been 2 minutes down the road after the bridge or it could have been 3 hours after they crossed the bridge. The references that I've seen about "after they crossed the bridge" simply mean that it happened in NJ as opposed to PA. And since you can get to Mt. Laurel conveniently from the Betsy Ross, if there's no tape for that bridge, there's no way of knowing if they came back to Mt. Laurel or not.

And perpetually, it seems, here in NJ. lol.

I think that that fact could be key. There are definitely some smaller streets around there that aren't very well-lit. Someone could easily get into your vehicle without being noticed at certain locations near there. I feel like we know where they were parked though. I wonder if that information is on this thread somewhere. I'll check around a bit to see.

Anthony Valentine, the childhood friend of Richie's they were with that night, reported that they were parked "close" to the State St Bar they were drinking at. He was under the impression they were heading stsraight off to Mt. Laurel. Earlier that evening, Danielle had had dinner with Richie's mom somewhere in South Philly. I haven't been able to find out where she left here car. It is possible that they were going to get her car. She had an 11:00 am appointment the next day. (The alternative would be to ride with Richie to retrieve the car the next morning.) If so. what ever happened, happened before they got to it because it is (apparently) accounted for.

It's also a pretty transient area- lots of college students living there, but then also a mix of people who have lived in those homes forever. Then you have the "rich/wealthy" houses heading north.

I don't know Rich's home address... I am assuming south of South St., but east or west of Broad... who knows. I am just wondering if maybe he forgot something- something as simple as putting the garbage out (well not on a Saturday night), but something that had to get done- late at night where not many people would notice?

Kemo- It's South Street FYI :-)

That never even occurred to me. I'm sure that LE has looked into all of it and connected as many dots as possible but that's a good observation. Did she drive her car into Philly that day or did Richie's mom pick her up? Did she drive her car back to her house at any point during the day? Was her car still in the city after they disappeared? All such important questions and none that I recall having seen answered anywhere. I wonder if RichardPetrone.com would have those details.

OMG the bridge to Trenton from Morrisville & Route 1 = construction FOREVER
So it's not just down here in my neck of the woods, huh? It often borders on ridiculous!
