PA - Samaria Motyka, 4, dies after being left in hot car, Williamsport, 22 July 2016

I think there is more to the story. 4 year olds are chatty. They are very hard to forget that they are in the car with you. I find it strange that no one noticed as I'm sure a 4 year old would be screaming, banging on the windows, etc.
I saw this story yesterday on FB feed, then just now saw it trending on WS. The driver was not the precious girl's mother, that may be the story...

Heartbreaking.

The 4-year-old was found unresponsive on the floorboards of the front passenger side of Borgess' car in the 500 block of West Fourth Street about 3:30 p.m. on July 22.

Relatives told investigators Borgess was feeling overwhelmed by the daily responsibilities regarding the children but declined help from others, the affidavit states.
Police noted the dead girl's father visited Borgess at work about 11 a.m., asked what they had eaten for breakfast but that did not trigger her memory she had forgotten to drop Samaria off at day care.

Many 4 year olds are able to get out of the car.... something strange about this.

Sometimes I think people have found a new way to get rid of unwanted children. Imo.
Rest gently, little Samaria !

Agree. She was found in the passenger side floorboard, so it wasn't that she was restrained in her seat. Wonder why she couldn't get out of the car? Child lock engaged and she didn't try the driver side door?

When my oldest was 4 she was left in the car. It was me, my sister, my niece, and my daughter. I had my hands full so I assumed that my sister would get my child and hers out of the car. When my sister came inside without my daughter I realized she was still in the car. I went out to get her and found her on the floor crying. She was so upset that she had been forgotten, she never even realized that she was big enough to open the door and get out. I don't know if this is what happened here but mine would not have gotten out of the car on her own.
