GUILTY PA - Satyavathi, 61, & Saanvi Venna, 10 mos, slain, King of Prussia, 22 Oct 2012

Oddly enough, still nothing about the mother of the child in the news reports.

There is that one statement Msfacetious posted above. The article said ' HER PARENTS WERE AWAY...' But it is odd that she has not been specifically mentioned...

Could this be a cultural thing? Where the man speaks for the family and the woman stays in the background?

She is probably too devastated to react. If it were me, I would probably be under the covers unable to deal...

This worries me... I was hoping it was a parent custody thing... but if it wasn't I don't have a lot of hope they won't hurt the baby either.

What a sweet faced little girl.
Praying for your safe and quick return Saavni.
Prayers for all who love her and her grandmother.
I would be so overwhelmed trying to take in my mother's death and my child missing all at the same time. I sure hope she is found safe.

Shiva Venna spoke Monday night during a press conference.

"If someone finds my baby could you please bring my baby back?" Venna pleaded. "Don't do any harm to my baby."

Late Monday night, the girl's father appeared before news cameras.

"If someone finds my baby, could you please bring my baby back?" said Shiva Venna. "Don't do any harm to the baby. Please, please help me in this matter."

This seems to tell us something. From local WPVI reporter's twitter https://twitter.com/KennethMoton

Upper Merion PD chief says residents should not worry. No other details available at this time abt kidnapping, murder

Upper Merion PD: 61-year-old satyavathi venna was babysitting granddaughter Saavni when she was murdered and baby was taken

Bumping this for Saavni-praying she comes home safe!!!

from above article...

Satyavathi Venna had arrived in the United States in July for a visit and was set to return home in January. The family was living together in the apartment.

Many older grandparents watch their grandchildren at the complex

Interesting choice of photo for the NCMEC poster when there are much clearer ones out there...

I hope little Saavni is safe.
