Pennsylvania State Police Identify Deceased Woman Found in Schuylkill County Early Last Year

The Pennsylvania State Police have released the identify of a woman that was found deceased in Schuylkill County in March of 2023.

On Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven identified the victim as 60-year-old Karen Rosemarie Rohrbach. The Pennsylvania State Police Forensic DNA Division assisted with identifying the victim and it was determined she died of natural causes and no foul play was suspected.

The estimate of her age was very far off. I wonder if that's why some cases aren't solved. How many other cases could have an estimate that's decades off; perhaps more cases than we'd think?

Very well and expensively dressed lady. And she has only 5 teeth left? Does not go well together. Unless she was a meth or similar user or had some health condition that made her almost edentolous at such a young age. Frequent childbirths could also cause early tooth loss but there is no clue she may have had children. Or she spent all her money on clothing and none on dental care.

Karen Rosemarie Rohrbach, 60, is currently the subject of two active bench warrants issued by authorities.

Rohrbach has been declared an Absconder from Supervision by the Schuylkill County Adult Probation Department. The original charge in her case is related to Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, categorized as a Misdemeanor.

I don't understand why she was found where she was.

Could she have been a sex worker? No judgment, it's tough out there.

No matter the circumstances I am happy Karen Rosemarie Rorbach has her name back.

One possibility: she fell over the bank and was trying to crawl out when she died of hypothermia, which sometimes paradoxically causes people to remove their clothing. Or if there's water at the bottom of the embankment and she fell face first, she might have removed the wet clothing trying to stay warmer.

This reminds me of Carl Junior Isaacs AKA Rock County John Doe. Like Karen, he had legal troubles and was also assumed to have died of hypothermia after falling in a river.

I cannot understand how it took them so long to identify her; she was found 4.8 miles from her residence / she was 'known' to police. Sigh.
