as a diesel tech I find it hard to believe he stole 600 gal of fuel in that truck .when the fuel capacity is 55 gal per tank with a combined total of 110 with both tanks

Turns out there were two trucks, believed to be working together. The first, a flatbed, stole 342 gal., while the second, a Ford F150, took 261 gallons, for a total of 603. Both were equipped with larger aftermarket tanks.

The Wawa is located off 309 near Souderton, at the intersection of PA 113 (there is no PA 131 as given in the story) and Bethlehem Pike. The distance to Philly is actually 29 miles, I was confusing Hilltown Twp. with East Rockhill Twp. which is further up near Quakertown, my apologies for that.

Wow, never expected to see my little hometown in the news for a major heist like this! It IS at the intersection, more or less, of two major roads, one of which (Route 309) goes south to Philadelphia and north up to Allentown, which is a considerable distance, and it intersects with (or runs very close to interchanges with) the PA Turnpike which traverses the whole darn state, so it seems like there would be plenty of opportunity for a getaway…were it not for the ubiquitous license plate readers at the toll plazas that dot the Turnpike.

Hope these knuckleheads get busted—ripping off a business of any type is always wrong, of course, but ripping off a Wawa—the finest convenience store ever birthed in the Commonwealth? That’s practically sacrilege!

Wawa is a national treasure---- the best gas/convenience store ever (don't listen to the lovers of the other major chain in PA, NJ and other states). Seriously though, that kind of theft should be pursued vigorously.

I wonder how they bypassed the pay system? It seems Wawa would have something in place to prevent that.
