I went to school with Wendy. She was in my brothers grade, two years ahead, and remember her and her disappearance, vividly, as we were ‘walkers’, which meant that we walked to school and i would often see her plodding along. Her vanishment still haunts me to this day and i often check for ‘updates’.

What i can say, is that ‘we’, Wendy & I, both lived in, what i now know, was a Pedophile Triangle which was a frequent, almost continuous hunting ground, between the Elementary (Roosevelt) & Junior High Schools (Indian Lane) , as they were very close to each other.

What stands out to me was the amount of male genital ‘Exposures’ and otherwise, vehicular ‘Slowdowns’ and attempted ‘Enticements’ that happened to me personally, in my childhood. I recall running into, the very familiar woods , as i was an explorative, outdoor kid on a long leash with a bike and knew each crook & cranny of my environment intimately, in fear, on several occasions.

The incidences are too many to catalog but it seemed pretty continuous.

It’s incredible thinking back on all that, now, as it is so clear what was happening but at the time it was just all reactive instincts. No one ever talked or warned you about twisted men and their propensities for children.

What i also vividly recall is, that at some point, they built two new houses with big old attached garages. directly across from the Junior High School and -standing at the JHS, the one on the left hand side-which was closest to a nicely coiffed trail, that lead down through some woodland and connected to another neighborhood for the kids to walk up to school, i guess, lived a Pedophile who ‘exposed’ himself to me from within the confines of his open door garage. I took off running!

Unbelievable.

Anyway, i’m quite sure that the parents had no clue that they were moving their children into such a target area for Pedophiles and have always thought that Wendy fell prey to one of the many, many hunters.

Couldn’t we hunt down that guy who lived in that house and check him out?

Delco Teen's Unsolved Disappearance Reaches 50th Anniversary Saturday

Wendy Eaton, 15, was last seen at about 2:40 p.m. on May 17, 1975. She was walking in Media Borough when she disappeared, authorities said.

Described as a good student, musically talented, and active in church and scouting, Eaton was known for her kindness and reliability. Her family emphasized that she would never have missed her church choir rehearsal scheduled for that evening.
At the time of her disappearance, Eaton was wearing a yellow sleeveless terrycloth blouse, cutoff denim shorts, and white sneakers with a blue stripe. She may have been wearing gold-rimmed eyeglasses and possibly a class ring with a red stone. Eaton is deaf in her right ear, has pierced ears, and is left-handed.''

A June 1975 edition of the Daily News advertises a reward for information leading to the location of Wendy Eaton.
Fifty years ago this week, 15-year-old Wendy Eaton vanished in Delaware County without a trace. Now, the search for her continues, and Pennsylvania State Police are renewing calls for the public’s help.

“As we mark the 50th anniversary of Wendy’s disappearance, the Pennsylvania State Police and her family continue to seek answers and urge the public to come forward with any information,” authorities said in a statement

Wendy Eaton vanished from Delco 50 years ago. Police are still searching for her.

The case is one that has “haunted the community for half a century,” Pennsylvania State Police said.

Police and oftentimes the community do a very poor job of spreading information about the sickos who live close by, leaving parents unaware that their children are in potential danger. How many young kids have gone missing on these boards while they were going for short walks in the neighborhood and have disappeared? Maybe some of those kids are with us today if parents could have taken the necessary steps to keep them safe once aware of their dangerous surroundings.

In the '80s, sure. That's when "stranger danger" became a talking point. But earlier than that who was talking about it? If Richard Dong is flashing kids from his garage half are going to laugh about it and make it into the neighborhood story among the other kids. The other half are too scared and/or embarrassed to tell an adult. A lot of these crimes are just product of their time. With the way things were they were going to happen no matter what and the crimes became the cautionary tales for later generations.
