Have seen somewhere that Wendy got her learning permit right before she vanished. Wondering if this possibly could be someone she knew even just as an acquaintance, perhaps someone older, who offered to bring her out in a vehicle to get some behind-the-wheel with her new permit. Also wondering if Wendy would often accompany family members or friends to the same golf course/country club the brother and parents went to that day without Wendy. Perhaps someone noticed her absence at the country club and went looking for her. The Preakness Stakes was run that day, I'm wondering if there was a lot of bustle at the club. Media's about a half hour from Philadelphia, they had warm temperatures that day up in the 70s as a high, down in the 50s low, I believe.
Saw this Doe and thought of Wendy:

Found Vidor TX 1984, PMI=death occurred 1983 or prior, they have ruleouts going back to mid-'70s MPs. 4'11"-5"2" fine brown hair about 2" length. 12-20yo Doe's clothing: blue-green and white short-sleeved
terry-cloth pullover (maybe short-sleeve?) with an elastic waistband. "Present Company" or "Penney Company" brand label. Wendy had the yellow terrycloth short-sleeve shirt. Here's what they say about the Doe's teeth: Several fillings.
Evidence suggests that she previously wore braces although none were present. Mandible not recovered. And here's what they say about Wendy's teeth: She
may or may not have worn orthodontic braces at time of her 1975 disappearance. So... there seems to be confusion about the braces in both cases, and I find that a bit odd. I know there could be many explanations for this, but it just strikes me as weird, considering the height lines up, it appears like the weight would probably line up, the hair looks simlar, and the Doe's facial shape looks similar to Wendy's. Also, the clothing's pretty similar. It's so similar I can imagine the same girl having both items in her closet. Depending on this "pullover" terry piece on the Doe with elastic at the base, that sounds like it might be a little more sturdy that just a regular shirt, and might even have had a hood. What I'm saying is, that sounds like an outer layer, there's something underneath it, like another shirt.
The geography certainly doesn't lend itself to the idea of Wendy being this Doe, though, that's a solid 21 hours of driving between Media PA and Vidor. It's still possible, but that is a long, long way.
My gut says that Wendy didn’t make it far. Ridley Creek State Park is nearby and would have been a place to hide someone. There were quite a lot of undeveloped areas around there at that time as well. Media’s ME office also has unidentified remains in their possession that they added to Namus in 2024.
I think Wendy’s disappearance may be related in some way to the kidnapping and murder of Gretchen Harrington in nearby Broomall, PA, and whose remains were found in Ridley Creek SP.
This sounds a lot more probable. With that said, I find the strange sort of questioning response on the braces for both the Doe and Wendy quite odd.
