Paris Hilton to serve time part 2

I have not been following quite as closely as some of you, so I apologize if this has been addressed.

Is it true that she has been ordered to serve the original 45 days now, instead of 23? If so, I don't understand why the judge would impose the full sentence, seemingly based on the fact that her attorneys, shrink, parents, etc. managed to get her out. It's not as if she broke out of jail. Even if money, influence, fame, whatever got her out, why back to the 45 days?

Btw, I really could not care less either way. Just curious.
Hi mesnowmom.
The judge has always ordered 45 days. That has never changed. It is the jail and the sheriff dept that run the good time -work time program at CA jails. If the inmates behave and do work, if assigned, they can get 50% credit on their time. that is just standard due to overcrowding. It is typically up to the jail. The judge does not have say in that ,I do not believe, or if he does, he isn't preventing it.

She will stil be able to get "good behavior" points and all that. The judge is just saying she had to play by the rules and he is not cutting her any slack. If she produces proof that she truly has a medical issue or something, he will be obligated to consider it.

I'm sure it's sausage withdrawal!! :D
No, they don't drug test them unless there's a medical problem. She may very well get tested if she keeps twitching, LOL.

Saugages or Snasages?!?!

Yes! All within the guidelines that any other inmate would have to follow.

OMG PRICELESS!!!!!!

NOT....... Bahahahahah.....I love today! :D

This is just amazing to me. The entire circus. It's like watching a soap opera. Ah, I admit, however, that I am glad Paris must go back to jail. I chalk it up to karma -- she has spent lots of time making fun of people and being cruel to others, sometimes for stuff that can't be helped. Now she's screwed up and is surprised we are all so gleeful. Earl would definitely call it karma.

the scene outside the courthouse after this commercial...they mentioned "screaming"......don't know, but I sure hope they show that idiot that was on camera earlier...WHAT A HOOT!

It is my belief and prefernce that Justice be served with the greater good of man kind as its ultimate goal. A Justice system that sentances a screwed up young lady to wither away in a jail cell while going thru withdrawls is in my opinion pathetic. This is a young women who has obvious huge mental issues. She needs to be sentanced to a mental facility with rehab to hopefully get her life together and then due community service and drug and alcohol conceling once she gets out. It is not about excusing a rich persons actions. Its about recognizing the diferrence between punishment for the sake of curelty and Justice as a tool for rehabilitation and self improvement. Paris Hilton needs our help, not our ridicule and mokery. Society needs to be able to recognize youth in trouble give them an opportunity for help and redirection irrregardless if they are the homeless kid on the street or Spoilled Rich kid in the Mansion. Shame on us for alowining our legal system to behave so deterimentaly. Double shame on all of us including myself who finds enterantinment out of this failure of humanity.

I respectfully, completely disagree with ya

I understand your point. But no one is asking that she be treated in any way different than any average person. If the average person was convicted of drunk driving and was repeatedly picked up for driving on suspension, they would also be required to serve some time. And if they had a medical condition or a psychological condition or a drug withdrawal, they would use the jail medical facilities.

Yes, there is a lot of public and media attention on it. But I believe the public has been sickened over the OJ and MJ debacles. The public is tired of the celebs and the powerful being able to walk right out of any problems with a little money and influence in the right places. Hopefully things will start to change now with the public showing concern every time a celeb gets into legal trouble.

To me what Paris did showed she really felt she was "above" the law. If I lost my license, I would have to sit at home because I couldn't afford to hire a driver. She could. She just decided to drive herself.

I agree completly with what you are saying except for one fact. Paris Hiltion is not and can not be just an average person. By virtue of her birth she is who she is and she can not do her time in jail without feeling the repercussions of notiarity. She must deal with the never ending press, the intrustions on her privacy and constant scutiny of people she dosent' even know. Average people who go to Jail do not have to deal with this burden. Paris Hilton is 26 years old but my opinion of her is she is like a stunted teenager. You equate her behavior to believing she is above the law. My opinion is that she functions in total disfunction and probably had not any Idea of her driving status or what she needed to do to comply with her legal status. Does this exuse her? Absolulty positivly not. However, this does support my belief she is a completly disfunctional person who has been raised with out the skills to function as an adult and she is now living her life distructivly using drugs, alcohol in a desperate atempt to avoid the adult world which she is not equiped to function in. She needs help and its not the kind of help she can get in a jail cell.

Hopefully, this will straighten her up; and her parents, too! CA tax dollars at their finest.

has there been video released of the courtroom drama itself? I went to tmz and seen the clips of them taking her from her home, her parents leaving court etc but haven't been able to find anything.

Okay, y'all have me wondering if she might be having drug withdrawals. If that's why she was released, she'll probably need medical treatment. The shaking and twitching really has me wondering if that's it.

Can someone tell if it's true that she's going through withdrawl, why she should be treated any different than any other addict that goes to jail and has to detox?

it might be good for her in that sense then, right?

She's snot nosed little brat crying for Mommy when the judge sent her back to jail, cause the Hilton money didn't buy her way out this time.

I think every day, while Pairs is in the clink, a different family should show up with pictures of their loved ones who were killed by a drunk driver. I think she should have to sit and listen to them. She probably wouldn't "get it" but she needs to start to understand that most people don't give a flying fig about how special she thinks she is.

Apparently she has mental/emotional problems and stopped her meds and it has nothing to do with recreational drugs.

Okay I talked to my friend with the medicated son that was incarcerated at Twin towers.. this is how it is SUPPOSED to happen.
If someone is on regular medication, they turn themsleves into jail with an ORIGINAL prescription from their doctor. If they are on regular meds or need daily medical attention of some sort, they are only admitted to a jail with a medical facility. Twin Towers is usually the designated one in LA County.
They have a complete pharmacy onsite and the prescription is filled there, and the county foots the bill.
Every inmate on regular meds is then brought their dose at the prescribed time according to doctors orders. They are also evaluated by a doctor in house.
Paris shoudl have divulged prior to reporting to jail that she had a medical issue that had to be dealt with. Happens every day.
I cannot believe her parents did not anticipate stopping her meds or her lawyers weren't advised prior.

ETA: IIRC she had a period of a couple weeks to get her affairs in order prior to incarceration. This is the kind of stuff you get squared away and it was her obligation to make sure her meds were not interrupted.

I also heard she gets extreme Claustrophobia. That could have something to do with it too. I'm sure it's tough going from a 10,000 square foot house to a 60 foot cell too. :boohoo: :boohoo:

That is still manageable within the system.
I still say her sentence was harsher than most and as I say most would have only been in for 10% of their sentence. But since that is not what she got, she should have dealt with it in a forthright fashion and been upfront about her emtional and medical issues.
