I get now why I've never heard of these people or their mega-church.
They are a Pentecostal Holiness group.
I'm sure some of this type faith do good works and love the Lord, but I had a whole family of pastors and their wives as chronic, frequent patients and they were the most self- entitled, whining, malingering bunch of people I ever encountered.

Luckily for me, I quickly saw that if a nurse wanted to stay out of the Admin. office for complaints, she'd better kow tow to these people and I do mean make it OBVIOUS that they were indeed SPECIAL.

I gritted my teeth and did all I could do for them and even more during the early years of my career when they had bought about a dozen of those newspaper insurance supplements that paid $100 a day directly to the inpatient on top of their regular medical insurance. They made THOUSANDS of dollars every month or so by feigning illness, pain, injury and always had IV pain meds which they kept a time log by their bedside so as not to miss a dose!!!.

I prayed for special strength of character before every shift when one of them was in the hospital.

This particular family of ministers and ministers' wives begged for special offerings when there was illness, too. Would go around to their poor congregation members in the family's new big white Cadillac and WAIT in the homes for their dole. The women wore $400 peignoirs from Lucie Ann in the hospital. Christian Dior silk. OBSCENE MONEY HANDLERS LIKE JESUS THREW OUT OF THE TEMPLE!!

i wondered if maybe there was some bipolar issues perhaps that would leave to such behaviors on her part but her actions (if true) are certainly not "the worst case" that professionals have ever seen.

Frankly, having to live with his overbearing and egotistical butt would have sent me off the deep end long ago. I don't know how she put up with him for so long. I'd have found some secret friends too.

I wonder if he is implying that Hope has multiple personality disorder? Unless she's on drugs, that's the only thing that could be the worst case that some doctor has seen.

I wasn't going to bring that up, but it does seem that he is saying she has multiple personality disorder. I would like to point out at this time that more and more psychiatrists in the US do not believe such a thing exists. In European countries, multiple personality disorder is not even a recognized diagnosis any longer.

It's easy to fake and almost impossible to diagnose... Personally, I've never seen a MPD case.

Snipping from the link:

"In the state which I saw my wife leave I wouldn't want anyone anywhere to have access to her. It is that bad," said Carpenter.

There's a video news report at the link too. ARC said more than is written in the report:

"There were two distinct double lives. This is not a fling. Not an affair. There was a whole other life and culture and dress code and friends and conduct of behavior and locations," explained Carpenter.

:what:

There's also an interview at the end with a spokeswoman from the Church saying how the congregation is feeling. eta: however, I think she is (or was) a Meteorologist/News Reporter for FOX Carolina as well as FD at Imagine Center aka the church gym

also eta: end of the news cast they add that Hope's parents were with RON the night of the report and they are all working together to get Hope the help she needs.

Dress code? Anyone anywhere to have access to her? Yeah, because the society needs to be kept safe from wives who don't dress the way dear hubby desires.

"Carpenter also pointed out that he would not be leaving or going on a sabbatical, as he had done nothing wrong. "The reason I'm not going on a sabbatical and not I'm trying to solicit hand claps, I'm being honest with you, is that at this point in my life I only have two joys — it's my kids and it's you, and I don't need to be separated from you right now," he said, breaking out in tears once more."

He hasn't done anything wrong, nope not him. Hope was married to a saint apparently then.

"I know I am going to be under intense scrutiny. I'm just gonna have to deal with it, but I will do everything in my power to regain your trust...and I will walk this thing out with integrity and authenticity," he said.

He added, "The world will watch how we respond to this right here. This is gonna go viral. There are no secrets anymore, and I will be a YouTube and Internet sensation before supper time. I can't control what media does and I can't control what magazines write." Carpenter, who said he would be preaching the following Sunday at a service that would be the "most powerful in the history of Redemption World Outreach Center,"

BBM. Really? He's gonna be YouTube and Internet sensation? Oh give me a break. Nobody would hardly even care if we knew that Hope was ok. He could have gone on a sabbatical, handled it privately and it wouldn't even be a blip on the radar. But he wouldn't miss his chance to be a "sensation" now could he? No way would he miss out on a chance to paint himself as a martyr, a long suffering saint of a husband and reap the attention from that.

OOhh I just wanna see God's hand come reaching down from above and smack this fool upside his head!

there is an interesting post in the comment section by "Elle" @ 10:16 PM Oct 16 about her friend and the damage done to her by her association with this "apostle" and his beliefs, which she refers to as warped and twisted.

May 6, 2011 - Success Story

In this video Ron states that they have 3 kids. "Two boys and my youngest is a girl." (At about 3:10 in video)

All other mentions of the kids has been, 3 BOYS. Was that during the time the older boy and father of a little girl was perhaps away in jail or in "rehabilitation"?

I think Ron lies.

nora, I really didn't pay attention to what he said the gender of his children were. But I think it's obvious, he has told some 1/2 truths. :( On more than one occasion.

Was looking to find out about Ron speaking his views on homosexuality (some up thread had posted he was not favorable to it). I wondered if he was one of those preachers who think that being gay is a "sickness that Jesus can cure" because that shows me that he would be a narrow-minded, judgmental person who has no business leading an worldwide ministry and having influence over troubled teens. My opinion only, of course.

Anyhoo, i saw that his videos are posted as a resource on this website "http://truthministry.org/ which claims "Our desire is to shed light on the complicated issues of sexual and relational brokenness with a special expertise on homosexuality. We hope that you will find comfort and guidance through this ministry by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and through godly love demonstrated by God's people. We have experienced freedom in Christ from homosexuality and other forms of bondage and share from this place"

So it seems they think gay people are in bondage ( by who, the devil??) and have "brokenness" (which I presume only God and this place can fix) and Ron is an affiliate of theirs.

So I can only imagine if he feels that way about gay people (who are BORN that way, through no fault of their own) then he has no problem judging other people and lifestyles.

Then also. the quotes from him about Hope referred to "inappropriate relationships" but did he actually ever say a sexual relationship? Because in the Bible Matthew 5:27–28 states that if you have looked at someone with lust in your heart then you have already committed adultery. So perhaps Hope simply had a friendship/relationship with someone without sex but with emotional intimacy or a closeness that Ron deems as adultery because that's just how his mind works.

For all we know, he has another woman and he has set Hope up for a disgrace so he can ditch her, keep his church and play the martyr. It's the perfect trifecta for a slimy preacher.

I'm still just randomly thinking aloud here.
