Hope must have been ambushed. Otherwise, she'd have to be smart enough to have an attorney on standby to speak up and put a stop to her husband yapping about her future divorce to the media.

Living in E. Texas I would be interested in what you mean strange beliefs. Just curious. tia

One that was strange to me is animism. My husband was invited to a small church where the preacher was telling a story about how he went to a lady's house and he saw a mask on her wall. (African decorative??) He said it was demon possessed so he took it off her wall and took it outside and burned it. I had no idea what he was talking about so I tried to find out and I think he believes in animism. Some of the denominations around here do not believe in having Halloween pumpkins because evil spirits dwell in them.

I was raised a Mormon and years later became a RC so that is where I am coming from. Strange beliefs to me that I had not heard of until I moved to East Texas. I lived in West Texas for years, grew up there, and we did not have those type of Christian religions there. :moo:

system. Lots of ways to keep someone quiet.

I ran across a video tonight

about the 2011 Marriage Conference-I wanted to see what he & Hope said but the video was actually Ron hawking a live video feed of the conference to other pastors and explaining how they could then charge people to attend. He actually called it a "revenue stream". Maybe there's no religious phraseology that covers this scenario. So Ron was charging these pastors $1500 to screen the seminar and then the pastors would charge attendees and everyone would make a tidy sum.

He did mention in this video about how Hope had to hold him up lately because he was so "burnt out". He was still clearly promoting him and Hope as the perfect pastoring couple-he said "It has been a wonderful year" and that he and Hope would be able to speak with "greater confidence, greater emotion, greater passion than we ever have before" and stressed that they are "transparent" and give people their own experiences that they've had to "battle through themselves", yet this would have been after the 2010 "confession" about her multiple affairs. He also noted he had ended up in the hospital from stress. Maybe he's the one that needed to be locked up for a year.

I also saw this site/channel that has all of his church services. Apparently they have services on Wednesday nights too as there was a service posted tonight. I can't really listen to much of him. I listened to a bit of tonight where he says he's the hardest working person in the world and 100,000 people on FB asked him how they could pray for him. Ego much. http://gnli.christianpost.com/video...ry-in-heart-wrenching-sunday-confession-18586

I've been re-watching some Sopranos and just realized how these preachers seem to have a similar interconnected web of activities-but because they hide it in the trappings of religion they are immune from scrutiny. They can fix prices and collude in ways to enhance each others ability to entice donations, hawk "conferences" they hire each other to speak at, hawk books that each writes and just generally prop up each other's respective connections to God and their "anointings" and whatever...I'm not good with the religious lingo.

But gosh darn Hallelujah! the Red Sox won at home. They grew beards and did prosper. Anoint them with beer! (Just being happy-no blasphemy intended!)

Hope we get some further news about Hope.

Wow, great post and so many points to consider!

re: above BBM - Part of the prosperity gospel is that the churches offer financial counseling for people. This is especially attractive to the poor who have debts and little money. But of course that tithe of 10% is taught to be the most important. They say " if they don't give that money to God or "put it in his storehouse" why then how can God multiply your blessings??

As for the pastors, they have a wide array of products they are hawking. Books, tapes, programs, education, etc, etc. The money on their books is usually separate income from the church and they are well paid and compensated by the church. Most of their expenses are written off or covered by the church. Plus they have the tax free status to manipulate when buying things and when gathering money.

Not to mention the generous perks that the pastors can shower each other with generous gifts, paid for by the church. For instance, in this Steve Furtick blog post he writes :" He ( Pastor Terrell Murphy) invited me, flew me out here, paid for the whole deal, had me measured for 2 suits this morning as a gift for our 1 year anniversary and has just made me feel like royalty in the last 24 hours........
But I wasn’t expecting ( Bishop Long ) to pick me and Pastor Murphy up and take us to the Lakers/Hawks game. And I certainly wasn’t expecting to watch the game with him in his luxury box. "

http://www.stevenfurtick.com/ministry-perspective/rollin-deep-in-the-dirty-south/

It's quite the intricate financial bundle.

I believe that Hope knows a LOT of what was going on which is why so many of these pastors are concerned. It may be in their best interest to "supress" her or discredit her. Then if she speaks against them, they can say, "poor mentally ill woman, she knows not what she says, I have prayed for her and hope that she gets well soon".

I've heard a LOT that Ron gives off that gay vibe, that's what so many commenter are saying. He creeps me out for sure.

I wonder about Hope's new sleeve tattoo and if that had anything to do with this debacle. Ron alluded to a whole different dress code and culture as part of her double life. That is not your typical "apostle's wife" kind of thing. (Not that I care, that's her body, her choice) I wonder what the other pastor's think of it?

In the article from Destiny magazine (2008?) the author went to the Carpenter house to interview Hope but the locked gate/security system that the house is surrounded by, malfunctioned and it took a while for her to get in. So I imagine, it could also be used to keep someone locked in, if ya know what I mean. Ron with his ever present bodyguards and a security system could easily ambush his unsuspecting wife.

There's just so much going on here.

Just recently moved to E. Texas, but been in TX all my life. I have never heard of animism (will research it). I know there is a church on every corner but mostly Baptist. What is an RC? I know a lot of churches do not have Halloween because it is considered a pagan holiday.

BTW congratulations to the Sox. I love Boston. jmo

OK, I forced myself to watch this guy and I believe there is steroid abuse going on and he keeps licking his lips which I think is a possible reaction to some other type of drug use. Also noticed a tic at one time, which my daughter got when we had her on Ritalin and I took her off and it went away. Just some observations and my opinion. And a couple other things I wont mention but suspect highly.

from any church going people. Now I grew up Catholic and went to Catholic school but never saw anything like the Membership Application from Ron's church. Have any of you seen it? Here's a link http://www.rwoc.org/resources/1/New Member Form 2012.pdf

I thought it was kind of weird they asked for your employment info and a photo but that was nothing. You also have to sign a release and....this is the really weird part to me

Is this a normal church application process? I am getting a totally creepy vibe and it ain't because tomorrow is Halloween. At least this is relieving my Red Sox tension-but dare I say we're ahead-6-0!!!!! I never relax though-lived in MA all my life-I'm jaded.

BBM Notice it also says that you are signing to allow

** WTF is "corporate blessing? I know Malachi 3:10-11 is their mainstay to justify the tithe and why people have to give money, but what is corporate blessing?

Well steroid abuse can lead to rage and impotence. That could explain why he has suddenly snapped and the impotence could be part of why Hope would seek out another man. (not saying she did and don't care if she did)

SwampMama: Exactly! I used to date a body builder who did steroids this is what I noticed right away with Ron, its the square jaw etc..there are signs if you know what to look for. Anyways, he was really nice looking, but he was severely lacking in bed. I wasn't with him long enough to experience any bad temper stuff though, so probably lucky about that. I did however quit dating body builders and have never had a desire to do so since.

SwampMama: They may be back together by then for all we know, and selling a bunch more tickets for how they survived the worse case ever seen. And you can now buy their book too.

The thing is, these pastors have their fingers in so many pies. They have so many little shell operations going on. So they start a charity/foundation/whatever that is different than their church but associated with their church. Then that foundation can pay the pastor for speaking for them, sponsor him in his activities and such.

For instance: I noticed on his dad's obituary( a very extensive obit indeed) , that they asked : Donations can be made in Dr. Carpenter's honor to: Redemption Ministerial Fellowship International (RMFI), 74 Byrdland Drive, (http://www.hughsnews.com/obituary-f...nter-sr-who-was-promoted-to-glory-sep-20-2012).

Then I got another thought. Ron's illustrious and well respected father died right at one year ago. maybe Ron would never divorce Hope while his father was alive because Ron said there had NEVER been a divorce in his family (that was said in the radio interview after his confession, I think). Hid father was a HUGE influence on him and a very notable pasor in his own right. But now his dad is gone, Ron doesn't have to live up to his father's expectations and can now dump Hope and do as he wants. Hmmm

Well a closer look at http:http://www.rmfionline.org/
Redemption Ministerial Fellowship International is an Apostolic Network of ministers, churches, and ministries that was birthed out of the 15,000+ member Redemption World Outreach Center in Greenville, South Carolina. Apostle Ron Carpenter founded RMFI with a vision to provide a spiritual covering for ministers and ministries which can develop, equip, resource, and blah blah blah....

So yet another "purse" for people to fill and for the Apostle to use to shower blessings on his fellow pastors and others who can return the favor.

So very true, as you can see, this tale will have many twists and turns.

"surviving the worst. case. ever. seen." :floorlaugh:"

I was afraid to say anything before, but from watching him steroids came to mind along with possibly cocaine. Not getting any sleep and being up on the stage wired like he is, I have to wonder what keeps him going. I noticed the lip licking and the twitching. I also thought the tick and some other behavior may be due to tourettes.

You can see him here in this video sitting on the stage with Hope. He twitches a lot.

What a racket! Get up and yell every week, whine, carry on, badly quote a few Bible verses, whip up emotion and rake in the money. Do it at another place and call it a conference, video it all over for a fee, and never have to do boring chores like visit the elderly and homebound, perform funerals, or even mingle with the members afterwards.

I totally agree it is a million dollar marketing scheme and they all share and use little tricks etc to get more money. This has always been my take on it which is just one reason I don't go to church, and especially the mega churches. I've seen how they operate, of course not to the extent I have seen, had my eyes opened with this case. I'm sure there are worse.
But I still say it is possible that Hope is in cahoots with all of this. She seemed content to also have the money and appeared to like spending it also.
I do wonder however if Ron doesn't project a bit much, since he admitted to his sexual problems etc. So why would he not be understanding of his own wife having some issues? It is very weird IMO. It would seem to me that with his life in younger yrs of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 etc that he is the one with the problems and sexual addictions. I'm still trying to figure it out.
But wouldn't it be a money maker for them both if she recovered and they got back together and sold more books, classes etc? I say of course it would.
I also have never heard of a yr program for sex addictions, maybe a 12 step program, not even a yr program for MPD. Maybe for drug addiction an in house therapy, but why the checking in on her every 15 minutes? That's a suicide watch. Things do not seem to add up. Then also if she has severe problems what kind of a man walks away and divorces when he preaches to endure and over come?

That's the other thing. There are so many businesses under so many different names. That's how they shuffle money around. When I was doing a business entity search I found several under Hopes name and several under Ron's. Not all were still active, but I didn't dig very deep and I'm sure there are more out there associated with the ministry.

They have so many ways they can use, to avoid paying taxes on the majority of the money they rake in.
