Patsy's Interview..."I Don't Knows"..."I Can't Remembers"....etc.

and why was she referred to as THE former Miss WV? I don't know how long Miss America Pageants have been going on,but she was only one of many.she was *A former MS WV,not the only one.

I read somewhere, that during one of Patsy's home tours...she had her dress and sash from the Miss WV Pageant, laying across her bed, in her bedroom. It may have been Cookie who said that....I don't won't to misquote her. BUT...I did read that somewhere, just can't remember where it was. So, yes..she was quite proud of the fact that she had the title of Miss WV...it didn't matter if it was ten years ago, or 50 years ago....it was something that she could brag about...for whatever reason. I have two words for her...concerning that...."WHO CARES?" And being crowned at a STATE pageant...is a far cry from being crowned MISS AMERICA.

reminds me of the saying, better to be talked about than not at all.

From Doc Miller's excerpt from Chapter One of his book, "Prostitution of Justice":

"cameras roll with Patsy crying, or preparing to cry, on the late night news. Years after the murder, we hear that John Ramsey was locked in a bathroom of his new mansion in Atlanta by a mysterious intruder posing as a workman. This makes the national headlines. “Good press, bad press, any press,” Patsy Ramsey often said. Yes, any press. John Ramsey seems prone to intrusion, and Patsy Ramsey seemed as though she invited it."

sure is,and what if she'd hadn't won the state pageant? what could she have called herself then...'I'm the former Miss WV contestant?' LOL. that doesn't make any sense, and either way...if she was the only one, then why didn't she win the Miss America? :P

Actually, I can only remember the names of 2 Miss Americas. Tawny Godin (I have NO idea why I remember her name, except that I remember where I was when I saw that year's pageant. I was 7 months pregnant and at a friend's house, so it was 1975.
And Vanessa Williams (for the same reason we all remember her- the scandal) plus she lives in the same town in Westchester, NY as my daughter.

BUT...can you name the parents of Tawny Godin, or Vanessa Williams....that's the 64 thousand dollar question? LOL (Theme song from Jeopardy is being played) de, de, de, de, de, de, deeeee, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, de, deeee.......de...de...de...de...de........de............de. BUZZER....times up.
Nope, I didn't think so.

rashomon,
Patsy backtracks and becomes amnesic on the bloomingdales.

Most of the information regarding the underwear is here:
2000 Atlanta Interviews
http://www.jonbenetindexguide.com/2000ATL-Patsy-Interview-Complete.htm

Some excerpts:

Patsy says she bought underwear for JonBenet and for her niece but as per normal cannot recollect exactly. Can you see JonBenet wanting a pack of size 12's, would Patsy not sort this one out at the time?

Were any size 8-10 discovered in the house?

In the bathroom, e.g. not the bedroom dresser!

That is 15 pairs of size 4 and size 6 panties were removed from the underwear drawer in JonBenet's bathroom -- BUT NO SIZE 12/14's!

Also Linda Hoffman-Pugh is quoted in Perfect Murder, Perfect Town
by Lawrence Schiller (Pages 198 through 202)

I assume Dates refers to the day of the week underwear?

As usual the investigators will know if Patsy purchased bloomingdales for JonBenet since they will be in her bathroom drawer e.g. size-6's?

Also Holly Smith, head of Boulder County Sexual Abuse Team, visited JBR's bedroom on the third day of the investigation. Smith says "most of the panties in JonBenet’s dresser drawers had been soiled with fecal material."

Also a pair of soiled underwear was left inside out on JonBenet's bathroom floor, which is consistent with what Holly Smith says.

Also Linda Hoffman-Pugh is quoted in Perfect Murder, Perfect Town
by Lawrence Schiller (Pages 198 through 202)

So we have JonBenet starting to wet the bed and possibly place stained underwear back into her bathroom drawer, or it remained stained after being washed?

No wonder Patsy needed to buy JonBenet some underwear at bloomingdales.

Where are the size 8 to 10 underwear mentioned by Patsy?
Thanks for your help, Ames!

You quoted LHP in Schiller's book (p. 198 - 202) book, where she said that when she came in the morning, JonBenet's white blanket would already be in the dryer. Do you happen to know if this was the same blanket with which JonBenet's dead body was covered in the basement?

that's one reason I bet she wanted JB to go on to be Ms America..so she herself would be remembered in some way, whether she lived to see it or not...but I really think she thought she would live to see it.I think she believed she was cured.can you imagine if both have lived and JB had won? Patsy would have put herself out there more than JB and been on tv announcing that she was THE former Ms WV and THE mom of the new Ms America.

Hi JMO!

I've wondered about how Patsy felt about being cured because on the television debut made a few days after JonBenet's death (the "hold your babies close" show), Patsy was asked what she would tell JonBenet (or words to that effect). Patsy replied that she would be "with her [JonBenet] soon," that it wouldn't be long.

That was weird. Would someone who believed they were cured say that? Was it a sympathy plea? I understand that some parents want to die when they loose a child but to say something like that on national television was truly odd to me.

I don't know, maybe she felt that way afterwards, but I was going by the parts where she claimed to be cured by laying of hands in DOI,and then I think there is another story in PMPT,where she said she thought JR's late daughter had helped heal her.

From what little I know, most cancer victims claim to be in remission. So her being cured and later claiming to be with her child soon were all for dramatic effect.

I was nausiated every time she referred to her surviving stage 4 cancer therefore she would not harm her child because she knew suffering. If that were the case, having had to watch them for so many years my suffering should account for something.

I know what you mean about Patsy's statements being sickening. Suffering had nothing to do with whether someone would harm their child or not. If she was wanting sympathy, that ploy didn't work for me. Neither did it convince me one way or the other about whether or not Patsy was innocent. Maybe those attorneys who advised them should have told them to stay off television.

They must have been very worried about their image and for good reason. I assume the Karr fiasco was staged to keep the intruder theory alive at the critical time of Patsy's death. It really was outrageous and tells us how desperate they were.

John must realize time is not his friend. A magic trick only works so long.

yes,esp in the early days,tv was a sad,sad mistake for them.CNN especially.they drew a lot of unnecessary attn to themselves, and for the most part it doesn't seem to be positive.

I am sure that, as sick as it sounds...that Patsy was getting a thrill out of being the mother of a dead beauty queen. It didn't matter how Patsy GOT famous....she was just happy that she WAS famous. Even though, alot of people hated her....they STILL knew her name. Which meant alot, in Patsy's eyes. IMO IMO

Some people ask me "why did they stage such a horrible thing?" And I tell them: that's how it HAD to be. JB lived a spectacular life. When she was no longer willing to draw attention in life, she would do so with a spectacular death.

Not just any demise would do, you understand. It had to be something sensational.

..and they must go on CNN to make sure all the world knows it.
