Penn State athletic director plus ex-Paterno assistant charged in child rape case #2

Does McQueary have children? If so, I wonder how he can look them in the eye. And what about his wife (does he have one?)? If you learned that your husband walked away from a child being raped, would you ever be able to respect him again?

Healing can't begin until the sickness is rooted out. I don't believe we are there yet.

I don't think we are there either. I have to fear that the climate of thinking that allows people to still place Joe on the pedistal and calls child rapes "little mistakes" has allowed alot more to go on than we know. And will still condone and allow it. Anyone who supports this should be shamed of themselves. That goes for anyone, from the people high up down to the students, community, and the media.

It makes me ill to think anyone could justify child rape for any reason.

Wendell Courtney appears to be at the heart of this horrific debacle. He was the one giving "legal counsel" on how to contain this mess. He was also sitting on both fences, Penn State and The Second Mile. Too much of a coincidence to me. The entire Penn State administration was relying on legal advice, and trust me, it carries a lot of weight on how "issues" are resolved.

And then there is the personal relationship Courtney shared with Sandusky. . . people with stronger stomachs than mine will have to investigate that.

In my humble opinion.

If it comes out that he actually advised anyone against calling LE I would think this would be cause to disbar him, but that's just me. It was clearly an ongoing crime and a child was in danger, so that supersedes the whole "privilege" issue.

I'm still agape at reading Ray Gricar's name in that GJ report-- when I was looking through his case a while back, I wondered what kind of case might have gotten him professionally "disappeared"... I think we now know.

It seems entirely feasible that he let the 1998 assault go uncharged while intending to watch, wait, and build a stronger case on the predator he had in his sights. Everything about his case smelled like a "hit" to me. That computer/hard drive in the river once held the secrets to Sandusky et al.-- I'll bet my bottom dollar.

MOO

Each and every one of these brought-to-light "scandals" are just the tentacles of the giant octopus, and the people caught up in these so-called "scandals" are nothing more than the suckers on the tentacles.

In my humble opinion, child rape, pedophilia, and child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 go a LOT deeper, or higher, if you will. Yeah, we can castigate a sucker (the victim holders) on the tentacle, think Boy's Town, whatever, but you never really touch the giant octopus lurking deep under the water.

Yeah, they all need to go, too many accidents, too much suicide, too many rumors, missing children, and documented rapes. Yo! People! These are OUR children that are being raped and abused. You ever hear of someone in high places having a child raped? I will bow to the Percy case, of course, that was weird.

Let's get real, this case isn't simply about Penn State, Sandusky, or Paterno. I believe it goes a LOT deeper than that. Do some digging, it's ugly, very ugly, and OUR children are the victims. The body of the octopus needs to be hunted down and disposed of, in a humane, politically correct way, of course.

My opinion only

Thank you button not enough... I think you're saying exactly what I was trying to say. No child deserves to be raped yet we see it time and time again... whispers... GO HIGHER, DIG DEEPER!

All I'm asking is you not fall prey to the media hype. If, in the end, Paterno deserves prison time and moral disgrace for his roll, it needs to be doled out. But can we, as sleuths, start looking for the body octopus instead of scapegoating an old man, who, is currently the least guilty non-victim or victim relative in 23 pages of disturbing, detailed child rape and molestation.

The Board didn't investigate previously, they're setting up a task force now. They're thoughts were take out the face of PSU, the world will see we're serious. What if that is the way they save their own pedo-selves and now they still have access to the kids in Second Mile?

How does an assistant coach of 10ish years have the assets to set up a front for a pedo ring anyway? He was destined for football greatness. He could've coached anywhere yet he chose to stay in State College and rape little boys. His enablers are bigger, much, much bigger than the Paterno's of the world.

Several articles say that Sandusky took his victims to church with him. Imagine that.

BBM Yep, there is a L O T going on here that people with stronger stomachs need to delve into. It's like a cesspool letting go and what we are seeing here are a few rotten fish, old and young, swimming for their lives, trying to keep their heads above the chit. For once, dear God, could someone with legal power hold their heads under water until they spew the truth? If not, all we can do is rant and rave while they spend their millions, lick their lips, and saying "we have done no wrong".

My opinion only

I wish just one human in this group of men, would just say "yup we all knew and we knew back in 1980 and tried to wish it away" even take it further and name names and have notes written down. Just someone willing to go against the grain. Why does'nt someone want to be the hero or at least act humble and acknowledge how much this has been covered up.

Money has never meant anything to me other than to pay bills and feed my family, I cannot fathom putting career/money/loyality to a sports-entertainment franchise, before the well being of another human, much less a small helpless human. Are these people not repulsed thinking how physically and mentally damaged these boys are?? I am and I did'nt have to work around sandusky or the enablers.

MSNBC is reporting that people within the community have seen JS shopping at the local mall, even wearing his Penn State sweatshirt! They're outraged - and so am I - that he isn't in jail. Instead this child-rapist is frequenting areas where children are known to go, and potentially hunting for new victims. This is just wrong, wrong, wrong!

ETA: I need my morning coffee - BRB.

Add to that, he lives behind an elementary school... He's violating the distance a SO needs to be from a school. Yet State College officials let him free on unsecured bail...

This has been going on for years at other institutions, and it still goes on because either people choose to be unaware of it, or ignore it. Tens of thousands of children all over the world were/are sexually victimized.

Maybe he has a death wish? I mean, if McQueary is getting death threats, you know Sandusky's are much worse. Why would he be out in public? Of course, why would he rape a child in public... there's a thrill attached to it. (I had to delete my ending thought)

:furious:

Why or how is that State College officials let him out? Is that campus police and they have that authority? Who is procescuting? the state? Also where will these court dates be held? Not jumping on you, just have alot of questions;-)

iirc poster Emeralgem thought next court date is Dec.7th. what happens at this date, if anyone knows.

6'3" tall, 230 lbs, in the prime of his life physically, and Mike McQueary did NOTHING to stop a washed up old has been from inflicting the horror he witnessed on a 10 year old child.

You disgust me punk.....

I think these bits of news are what puzzle me most. As I previously stated, I could not have walked away. How could he? :furious: There would be an old man bleeding from the head on the floor of the shower if I were him

I totally understand why they would have gone to the coach first. I do. BUT:
Paterno should have called police, and
when he left knowing the police weren't going to be called, it was his obligation to do so. :sigh:

Interesting:

There were, he explained, two main characteristics of the sexual abuser: narcissism and grandiosity.

That's State College police, not campus police, even though both departments have the same power. 12/7 is the next court date. I'll look at where court will be held, I'm hoping not in Bellefont. I think it's going to be the state prosecuting.

As for why he's out... Yeah. The best legal system in the world also has the biggest flaws. I hate to say it in so detailed words but my "Go Higher" isn't working. Government and government agencies, not only in Centre County are corrupt. This is going to involve a whole lot of big names when all is said and done.

With all respect, he doesn't look like a frail old man. He looks like a huge, hulking monster.

McQueary, as a human being, disgusts me.

You have so many mandated reporters that didn't report. Is it possible they did report and, because of the bigger people involved, the police, C&Y and any other agency dropped the ball?

JJ posted this in Ray's thread but it def. belongs here too.

This is a chart from the Attorney General's Office:

I don't give a rat's azz about the "proper procedures" Joe Paterno is being alleged to have followed in reporting the 2002 incident to his "superiors". They didn't stop anything. Joe Paterrno KNEW they stopped nothing.

I am with you on this one!!! Because, common sense tells me that if I see a child being raped, you intervene. Common sense tells me when you are notified that a friend is raping children, you contact the police directly. It never bothered him that police never questioned him regarding what he had heard about these rape allegations about his dear friend?

And, I guess since its not common sense to grown men to intervene/report crimes of this heinous nature, perhaps a law(and I hate new laws lemme tell ya) stating that if you witness child abuse, and fail to intervene or report it immediately to police, you can be charged with a criminal negligence or failing to render aid or something because there is NO reason a person should not do either of those.

Again, to clarify in my mind: Who was it who had knowledge of the incident the janitor saw, in 1998, and ignored it for a 2nd time?
