interesting to say the least. i wonder if jarry sandusky was there for the "Pedolphlia is OK" keynote speaker:

"......A women’s health conference at Penn State University featured an outspoken advocate of pedophilia and sadomasochism as a keynote speaker........"

Pennsyvalnia taxpayers are certainly a very "progressive" group, since they are Ok with paying for "pedophlia is OK" speakers at their state college. and as for the coward legislators that dont want to offend anyone, well, the voters get what they deserve, imo.

I don't want to go backwards and bring up topics that you have already discussed on the thread. I do believe though, that from old information I have read on the internet, JS isn't the only pedophile or "man boy lover" as they would justify calling themselves, in this mess.

On the topic of a young girl seeing a bunch of men naked, at that age I would have been scared to death had I been put in that situation. Equally so, I would have been scared and uncomfortable as a young boy being alone in the same shower stall (in my space, touching me) by a adult male, unless it were my parent. This is unacceptable, a young boy can take a shower on his own and doesn't need a scary old man rubbing soap on his back. :yuck:

Sorry, I just had to let off some steam! I'll hush now.

Hello everyone! I've been reading but haven't chimed in yet. I'm way to behind.

I remembered a while back, while doing some research that I came across this article about a event held at PSU in 2002. I thought it was interesting.

http://www.wnd.com/2002/03/13317/

“You can’t touch Penn State,” said Lawless, who crossed over from the Republican to the House Democratic caucus last November. “The legislature cares about their football team. Football is more important than education or morals.”

I think this is what it all boils down to. Horrific.

I believe so. I wonder why would she be called as a defense witness.

I dunno bcause IANAL, but I suspect the defense will try to discredit her and try to discover how she knew what she knew when she broke this case open in public media.

I believe so. I wonder why would she be called as a defense witness.

supposing, as I do, that sandusky is guilty as hell, the only thing that might possibly be gained by calloing the investigative reporter that broke the case wide open would be that the defense thinks it has one bit of information about the reporter and the case that MIGHT be helpful.

the problem with that (FOR THEM) is that now you have a person on the stand who has vast knowledge of the case and who is articulate and who also KNOWS that Sandusky is an evil criminal.

big mistake to put a person like that on the stand because you think you have uncovered one little possible tidbit that MIGHT help your case. as a defense atty with a gukity defendant your trying to obscure the truth, not discover it.

according to IS this jury is intelligent and educated....how stupid is this defense atty?

we already know he is stupid enuff to allow his client to implicate himself on national television.

Maybe she has some inconsistent statements from accusers? Maybe they want the source of the GJ leak?

There was an article posted a couple weeks ago stating that Amendola's "Victim 2" lawyered up after initially contacting the defense, and hasn't been heard from since.
Personally, I don't think the real Victim 2 will ever appear in a courtroom.
If he's still alive, he's had plenty of time to understand he'd be protected, and still hasn't come forward.
If Amendola's "Victim 2" tries to defend Sandusky falsely, he's risking a whopping big perjury charge, and I just can't see a fake attempting that.
If Amendola's "Victim 2" is real -- and nothing really happened -- he'll have to say something like "Yeah, I know it's me they're talking about because I remember seeing the red-headed guy looking at us. Nothing happened." But I don't believe this will happen because I believe McQueary.
He wouldn't be the first sexual assault victim to testify that there was no sexual assault (http://www.thestar.com/news/ontario...rost-acquitted-of-sexual-exploitation-charges), but that's just so unlikely after the testimony of all the other victims.
If it's true that a guy dropped out of Amendola's sight, that guy was probably looking to cash in & got cold feet.
I'm thinking that because the victims have already been treated so respectfully, and because Victim 2 hasn't appeared, he's either decided that Sandusky has enough knives stuck in him already and doesn't want to endure the ordeal, or he's just... permanently unavailable.

Or Victim 2 could be repressing the memory.

Defense attorney Joe Amendola declined to say if Sandusky would testify as he entered the courthouse Tuesday morning. Amendola says the case is like a soap opera, comparing it to "General Hospital" and "All My Children."

by WGAL 11:28 AM

Another defense witness:
Kelly Simco. Met Sandusky through the Second Mile when she was 8.
Simco said -- Thanks to Jerry, half my college tuition was paid.

by WGAL 10:59 AM

Another defense witness:
John Wetzler is a retired social studies teacher in Bellefonte School District. He has known Sandusky for 25-30 years. He was also a football coach and went to PSU for clinics.
The last conversation Wetzler had with Sandusky was when charges were first filed. He called Sandusky and said he’d vouch for him.

by WGAL 10:59 AM

Another defense witness:
Lance Mehl lives in Ohio and played PSU football as a linebacker from 1976-1979. He was drafted by the NY Jets and is now a probation officer.
Mehl said of Sandusky -- We all looked up to him. He was a class act.

by WGAL 10:57 AM

Defense attorney then questioned Letier again on redirect (that is an opportunity to talk to the witness again – after they have been cross examined).
Leiter said -- We have interviewed other kids and they’ve told us there’s been intercourse.
Amendola tells Leiter a recording was made of an interview Leiter did with Accuser 4, in it Leiter says:
“This is the way he (Sandusky) operates” “You’re not the first victim we’ve spoken to. I want to say we’ve spoken to nine…it's amazing that if this was a book,” You’d be repeating other accusers’ accounts word for word." “I don’t want you to feel ashamed because you were a victim of this thing...he (Sandusky) took advantage of you…we need you to tell us if this is what happened…we need you to tell us as graphically as you can what took place so we can get through this procedure”

by WGAL 10:56 AM

Leiter said they had a hard time locating Accuser 4. When Leiter finally found 4, 4 said he didn’t want to talk and said he wanted to talk with his attorney (Andreozzi) before talking to police.
On cross examination, Leiter says he interviewed 40 to 50 young men during the investigation.
Leiter said Accuser 4 curled up in a fetal position on the end of his couch when Leiter first went to 4’s house to see if he wanted to talk. He confirmed he never told any of the accusers to say anything, and never told the accusers they had to talk to police.
The judge then called a sidebar with the attorneys as Leiter was still on the stand.

by WGAL 10:54 AM

Another defense witness:
-Corporal Joseph Leiter, retired from Pennsylvania State Police. He was one of the Sandusky case investigators
Leiter interviewed Accusers 1 , 4, 5, 7, 9 and 1 more -- and Mike McQueary. He probably did not nterview any of them more than 3 times. Leiter said that initially some accusers said nothing happened, then would tell more later.
Amendola asked the investigators if they ever told the accusers there were other accusers- both said yes.
Leiter said -- At some point in our interviews with some of them, we did tell them. Each of these accusers was very, very serious and very concerned and we had told them especially prior to going to grand jury that they wouldn’t be alone, that there would be others.
Leiter said they never told the accusers the nature of the other allegations.

by WGAL 10:52 AM

Rossman said when he interviewed Accuser 4, 4’s attorney (Ben Andreozzi) was present on Apr 21, 2011. Rossman said they took a break during the lengthy interview of Accuser 4. Amendola asked if Rossman stayed in the room when Accuser 4 left the room to take a cigarette break or get food. He said he didn’t know if he or another officer stayed in the room for the break.
On cross examination, Rossman said that some of the accusers became very defensive when talking about the allegations.

by WGAL 10:49 AM

Another defense witness:

-Corporal Scott Rossman, with the Pennsylvania State Police for 13 year and one of the lead investigators for the Sandusky case.
Rossman started investigating in May/June 2009. He interviewed Accusers One, Four, Five, Seven, and 2 others -- and Mike McQueary. Rossman started interviewing them after an initial Patriot-News article about the allegations.

Rossman said he could not recall telling the accusers there were other accusers out there. He said some of the accusers initially said nothing happened or something minimal happened, then later added to their stories.

Rossman said -- Did I ever think there was more than what they told me? Absolutely. And Rossman said he told the accusers that.

by WGAL 10:48 AM

Another defense witness:

- Jack Willenback, a retired civil engineering professor at PSU. His kids grew up with Sandusky’s children and go to Sandusky’s church. Willenback said -- Jerry Sandusky is a father figure and he’s also respected for what he did professionally.

Prosecutor McGettigan asked if any of Sanduskys’ friends changed their opinions of him after the allegations. Willenback said something to the effect of -- My wife and I are Christian and we decided we were not the ones to judge and we didn’t want to hear about the allegations.

by WGAL 10:44 AM

Another defense witness:

- Phil Mohr, a retired professor of microbiology at PSU. He has known Sandusky for about 35 years. He lived a few doors down the street from Sandusky, was a church member at Sandusky’s church and played organ for both Sandusky’s parents’ funerals.

by WGAL 10:43 AM

#sandusky defense also calls many character witnesses but jury did not look impressed

by 8CumbCoReport via twitter 10:42 AM

Another defense witness:

- Joyce Porter, a woman in her late 40s, 50s. She was seated in the section of the courtroom gallery where Sandusky’s supporters are. She is the mother of 14 children, of them 5 are adopted. Porter has known Sandusky for 40 years. She would see Sandusky a few times a year. She said -- All the people I know who know Jerry thinks he’s a wonderful man.

When asked if the defense wanted to redirect, Defense attorney Joe Amendola looked at Sandusky, who shook his head no.

by WGAL 10:42 AM

Apparently Amendola will play audio of #sandusky investigator telling accuser 4 there are other accusers and he's a victim

by 8CumbCoReport via twitter 10:41 AM

Another defense witness:

- Megan Rash is a 25 year old expectant mother and Iraq Army vet. She was honorably discharged after incurring a brain injury while serving. She started Second Mile in elementary school and attended camps. She has known Accuser 4 for 18 years. She says Accuser 4 was her older brother's best friend. She also said of Accuser 4 -- He was a dishonest person and embellished stories.

by WGAL 10:40 AM

#sandusky defense makes a little headway by questioning why investigators told accusers there other accusers

by 8CumbCoReport via twitter 10:40 AM

Here's a rundown of the defense witnesses from this morning:

- Tanessa Inhoof, woman in her late 20s or early 30s. She met Sandusky through The Second Mile…has known Sandusky for more than a dozen years. She spent nights at Sandusky’s house.

-Josh Green, 33 years old. He met Sandusky through The Second Mile in the early 90s. He spent nights at Sandusky’s house. On cross-examination, Green says he was called by the defense team last week and was asked to testify.

by WGAL 10:39 AM

The defense has been calling a lot of character witnesses…all saying the same thing, that Sandusky had a good reputation. The only highlights have been defense pressing the investigators on if they tainted the accusers’ testimony -- -specifically asking why the investigators told the accusers there were other accusers.

by WGAL 10:36 AM

The courtroom is full again, only a few seats empty in the prosecution’s allotment. Sandusky was seem joking with someone from the defense team, a woman…he was smiling ear to ear and joking with her, Amendola walked in and did the same. There appear to be 3 sketch artists here today.

It appears to me that the defense is trying to ask almost the same question of different witnesses in different ways trying to get it to appear one of them is lying. He is deliberately trying to confuse the witnesses (victim #4's lawyer, the police investigators), and may be succeeding.

  • #418
Prosecutor McGettigan then went through some transcripts of the recording. Leiter says the phrases and techniques he used (“you’re not alone”) is not uncommon for investigators but he never told Accuser 4 what to say.
On redirect, defense attorney Karl Rominger got Leiter to say that he had mentioned rape, oral sex, and specific allegations he got from other accusers.

by WGAL 12:05 PM

The defense then recalled Corporal Leiter to the stand. Rominger asked if Leiter ever paused a recording with an accuser. Leiter said he can’t recall.
Rominger asks if Leither talked to Rossman about Leiter’s previous testimony in court today -- Leiter said yes. (Rominger appears to have caught Rossman, the state police investigator, not telling the truth. Leiter says he doesn’t know why Rossman would say the two didn’t just talk about Leiter’s testimony because Leiter says they did talk about it).

by WGAL 12:04 PM

The defense then recalled Corporal Rossman (one of the Sandusky investigators) to the stand.
Defense attorney Karl Rominer asked Rossman if he talked to any accuser during a break in a recording, or if he ever pre-interviewed an accuser before starting a recording (the defense has found a weakness in the prosecution’s case…by using an accidental recording of one of the state police investigators filling an accusers’ attorney in on other accusers’ accounts…the defense can try to put doubt in the jury’s mind that the investigators tainted the accusers’ testimony).
Rominger asks if Rossman talked to Leiter about Leiter’s previous testimony in court today -- Rossman says no.

by WGAL 12:03 PM

Andreozzi says he never told Accuser 4 to say anything. Of 4, Andreozzi said -- He’s been extremely uncomfortable talking about this from day one. He viewed Jerry as a father figure…to this day he’s not comfortable talking about the details.

by WGAL 12:01 PM

Prosecutor McGettigan wants the jury to hear more of the recorded tape, specifically when Accuser 4 starts talking again.
The judge debates whether to let the tape keep playing, saying the purpose the defense wanted to air the recording was to rebut Corporal Leiter’s testimony that he never told accusers about the nature of other accusers’ allegations. The judge says the defense played the recording to try to prove investigators “planted the seed” in the accuser’s testimony.
The rest of the recording is not played

by WGAL 12:01 PM

Amendola then read from the recording transcript:

Andreoziz: Can we at some point say to him (4), listen we’ve interviewed other kids and other kids have told us there was intercourse…
Leiter: It is very similar. A lot of things you told us is very similar to what others have told us….we’re not going to look at you any differently other than you’re a victim….I just want you to understand you’re not alone in this.
Andreozzi: There’s the potential there could be a civil case. (Andreozzi clarifies that there’s no agreement to sue anyone but confirms the outcome of the case could affect how much money he (Andreozzi) may get from a civil suit.

by WGAL 12:00 PM

The defense then called Accuser 4's attorney, Ben Andreozzi, of Harrisburg. He represents victims of crime in civil cases. Andreozzi confirms for the court that it was his voice on the recording that was just played in court. He said it appeared that the portion of the recording that was played was not intended to be recorded.

Andreozzi says Accuser 4 had some major concerns speaking to police.

by WGAL 11:57 AM

Tuesday morning, the defense played part of an audio tape of Corporal Leiter interviewing Accuser 4 with 4's attorney, Ben Andreozzi, present. The interview happened on April 21, 2011. Here's a summary of what was played on the tape:
Accuser 4 asks to take a break, Leiter says ok…“We’re going to put this recording on hold”…Andreozzi: I’ve only ever talked to 4 one time…Leiter: we have two who’ve seen intercourse. Andreozzi: can we at some point in time tell him there are other accusers. Leiter: “we’ve done that with other kids”, Leiter: the only times the abuse stopped was when the parents caught on, or (inaudible), Andreozzi: it sounds like jerry spent so much time with him, it doesn’t seem like he’d have time to spend with other kids…Leiter tells Andreozzi about the nature of what he thinks Sandusky’s MO is. Andreozzi says 4’s dad found him through an online search and that’s how he became 4’s attorney
Leiter: “you’re not the first person….we’ve interviewed, probably nine…you’re doing very well. It’s amazing...if this was a book, you’d be repeating word for word what people have said before…there’s a pretty methodical way he operates, still operates and often times this progression…can lead to more than just the touching and feeling. There’s actual oral sex that’s taken place, by both parties” “I don’t want you to feel…ashamed because you’re a victim in this whole thing…you need to tell us what happened. This is going to be taken care of accordingly, but we need you to tell us as graphically as you can…

Accuser 4: I understand.

Well, Mr. Booker Brooks said that showering with children 'is a very common thing ALL OVER THE COUNTRY." So it must be so right if he says so right? NOT!

What a bunch of bullhockey! I coached Pop Warner cheerleaders, we went to regionals 3 yrs in a row and even Nationals one year. I had a few sleepovers at my home for these 30 girls to bond and practice for these competitions. I NEVER had ANY reason to shower with any member of the squad, not even when we practiced at gyms with showers. It is the responsibly of the parent to teach a child personal hygeine. I would certainly be appalled if I learned that either of my daughters' or son's grandfathers took them into the shower at the Y. IMO, these men, Brooks, anderson, Sandusky, have boundry issues. Do they have no modesty? I never saw either of my gfs naked when I was a kid and would have been mortified if I had.

I am not yelling at you Bravo. LOL! I am :banghead: trying to figger out what planet these men are from to assume it is OK and 'normal' for an adult to shower with someone's child. I hope the jury is as outraged over this testimony as we are.

I also pray for justice for these victims. JS needs to be in :jail:

moo

wm

Agree. No i didn't take your post to anything but just jumping off mine. It's insane for sure for anyone to think it appropriate to shower with a child. Other than a Parent when a child is too young to be left alone. Today anyone working with Children and a lick of sense always makes sure they dont put themselves in a postion to be accused of anything. Keeping a door open when alone with a Student after class etc. etc. I pray these Victim's get their Justice. They had a tough start in life as it was. Then to be victimized is beyond appalling.
