This is just my own bias, but Dottie reminds me of church ladies I knew growing up who used to scare me because they were so cold. The hair, the jewelry, the fake grin - she's got it all.

...and the horrendous color of her "going to court for Jerry" outfit.

Since the defense called their expert witness, the prosecution was allowed a rebuttal of his opinion.

Oh gotcha, so rebuttal is immediate. I like that.

I have never heard of that, but that's what it sounds like. Although, weirdly, I didn't realize the defense psychologist had testified yet.***

“In my opinion, they are not consistent with a personality disorder, in my opinion they are highly manipulative,” Dr. John Sebastian O’Brien II said about the letters.

A psychologist took the stand this afternoon and said he diagnosed Jerry Sandusky with having histrionic personality disorder.

Called by the defense during the sixth day of the child sex abuse trial against 68-year-old Sandusky, Dr. Elliot Atkins testified that the “creepy” letters presented by alleged Victim 4 -- the 28-year-old who says he was abused by Sandusky for several years in the 1990s -- can be explained by the emotional disorder.

I am thinking at the end of DS testimony the prosecution proffered to the Court that they were going to call a rebuttal witness to refute the defense psychicatrist. :waitasec:

According to this Gamin article he did testify just after Dottie. (Correction to say the defense expert was a psychologist; the state expert is a psychiatrist. Thanks to J. J.)

O’Brien testified right after Dottie Sandusky, and almost immediately referenced what she said -- that her husband was very busy, juggled a family, a children’s charity and a high-profile football coaching job.

“He was an individual who kept all the balls in the air,” O’Brien said. “I don’t see anything in any of that information to suggest he was a person with a personality disorder that caused him any problems.”

The answer, according to O’Brien, is not histrionic personality disorder.

“(Personality disorders) are not something that would show up with a particular relationship. They are 24-7,” O’Brien said. “To sidestep all function of Mr. Sandusky and focus on letters is really inconsistent. It is who you are all the time.”

But Dr. Jonathan Dranov, a State College, Pa., a friend and physician colleague of McQueary's father, Dr. John McQueary remembers it differently. Dranov told the grand jury that he also sat and listened as Mike McQueary gave his father that day-after eyewitness account.

According to the Patriot-News source in question, Dranov testified that McQueary said he heard "sex sounds" and the shower running, and a young boy stuck his head around the corner of the shower stall, peering at him as an adult arm reached around his waist and pulled him back out of view.

Seconds later, McQueary said, Sandusky left the shower in a towel, Dranov testified, according to the newspaper's source.

Dranov said he asked McQueary three times whether he saw anything sexual, and each time McQueary said no, according to the knowledgeable source.

If they used a psychiatrist, that could help with the jury. MD/DO versus Ed D.

I hope the first question tomorrow is for the doctor to list the various types of psychosexual disorders (pedophilia, necrophilia, voyeurism, exhibitionism, sadism, masochism, and etc...). If the doctor is prohibited from stating that Jerry is definitely a pedophile, the list of bizarre psychosexual disorders will demonstrate to the jury that Jerry is warped.

This suggests that Dottie learned to follow. She knew that she was expected to fall into place behind Jerry. Dottie may have been strong in her own home, but she had a different public persona. :moo:

Uhh, yeah. It seems to me that she even facilitated his extramarital relationships-- maybe even so that SHE was not the one who had to try and satisfy his sexual proclivities. IOW, she was happy if he was happy (thank God for "throwaway" children, eh?).

I think the neighbor the mother of Victim 1 may have backfired. The mother said that her son was touched, and because of that, she'd sue. It was touch first, suit second.

Calling one of the accusers "conniving", wow. Insulting this young man while on the stand would not play well to me, if I were on the jury.

Also, choice of where to sleep? I'm sure she gave those boys a choice, but I doubt that her dear hubby did. You don't get choices when you're being abused like that.

Agreeing with those who aren't sympathetic to her, physical appearance or no. There comes a time, when all of the accusations, the flat-out weird behavior of JS, keeps hitting you over the head, that you have to at least suspect that something is not right with your husband. She had no suspicion at all? Not buying it.

Her physical appearance could very well be a part of having all your dirty laundry aired in public, major embarrassment, a great change in your lifestyle, or maybe even a bit of guilt, I hope.
