I thought his best answer (most deceitful) was that he put her in the bird sanctuary. He knew that the government could not dig up the bird sanctuary looking for a body several years after she vanished. Investigators would be able to find a skull, but not without destroying the sanctuary.

I have no doubt that Natalie suffered the same fate as Stephanie. Stephanie said something that upset Joran and he hit her in the face with his elbow. With Natalie, I think it was when she said something about her mother's family history having some association with a plantation with slaves, or discussing Nazis. I think that set him off, and something about gambling poorly set him off with Stephanie. She was good at the casino, but Joran simply lost money, thousands of dollars at a time. Joran has no impulse control. If he feels angry, he lashes out. He is contrite later, but the lashing out does not seem to have any boundaries.

His parents tried to correct him, but seeing a psychologist during high school, and involvement in sports, did not Change Joran's behavior. It was when he threw someone off the bridge that he was first assigned a psychologist. He was also violent with his younger brothers. As far as I can understand, he was problematic from the time that the family moved to Aruba, when he was very young. I doubt that he would have been any different had he been raised in the Netherlands. His mother thinks that there is something wrong in his head, and I agree. He should be locked up for life and should not be allowed to marry.

Ok thanks Otto. It is all such a mystery. I suppose he won't ever definitively say where she is as that might mean the rest of his life in prison, whereas if I understand correctly, right now he might get out sometime in his 50's? So I really doubt he will ever say what he did with her.

The reason I am curious about the body is because I am following Madeleine McCann case, which was also in a beach location (she was supposedly abducted, but I believe the parents hid her body after an accidental death). It's hard for me to believe that they could have hidden her body so well that no one has found it all these years, but well, looking at this case I see it is completely possible.

The issue will be addressed by the Inter-American Court of Human Rights on November 18, reported his Peruvian lawyer in the United States, Aldo Cotrina, Friday in an interview with the Peruvian TV channel ATV +.

He could've tossed her in the water and there could be sharks, so it is possible. I just saw a case on 20/20 on ID last night where they proved he killed his wife by tossing her overboard off Newport Beach, but they didn't ever recover her body. Can't remember the names in the case though...

Not sure why Joran's lawyer keeps reassuring the press that he will get married once the necessary paperwork is completed. Sure takes a long time for paperwork to get completed in Peru it seems. :wink:

Joran van der Sloot marries likely until early next year with his girlfriend Leydi Figueroa. His lawyer Máximo Altez announced that there was a problem with obtaining the necessary documents, but he expects that everything is settled.

Haven't seen confirmation of that but it appears that his lawyer is trying to confirm that the fiancé is now pregnant with twins due in the summer....
