- Peruvian courts are open; could be charged as early as today; cameras will be in court

I knew this would go like this. All the cases I have been reading were rushed thru like this.
I for one am not comfortable with this.

the mattress looks to be on the bed with crumpled sheets on top ... yet we keep hearing about an 'askew' mattress and one that is completely off the bed

has anyone been able to confirm that is indeed Steph and not a re-enactment?

I just found the longer version on their You Tube channel. In the longer version you can tell it's a reenactment. I apologize for the confusion. Still some interesting other footage in this video....

He confessed! ACK! Dog the Bounty Hunter called it! Clearly, it helps to have chased a gazillion dirtbags to understand Joran...Now I have to stay up and wait for the next bulletin. Peru got a confession in under a week...Aruba is still thinking about looking for Natalee's body when she disappeared on a freaking island. (I will NEVER believe that Aruba never had any forensic evidence.)

that may really be true!
I truly believe that will happen. The powers that be will get what they need out of him - so far, its working - he's confessed to Stephany. Next will be Natalee - unless he has confidential info on that laptop and they don't need him anymore.

It will probably be suicide but could also be an escape attempt. And who will question that?

Well at least the media is reporting pretty much the same thing....too bad they don't get it that accurate with details,lol...sorry not funny I know.

Did the news just break that JVS confessed to killing Stephany?

I turned on Anderson 360 and there was a special report.

Joran confessed!!! Breaking news on CNN.

Yes. He's confessed. Says that Stephany got on his laptop and accessed stuff about Natalee and he found out and went into a rage and killed her.

Kat, I lost your post, but you are spot on! This is all about Joran taking control. Swag1959, you stole my thoughts.

I really do think so SoCalSleuth. Even though it looks to us that he lost by confessing in Peru and he will more than likely serve in that country.

I wouldn't be surprised that for JVDS right now it isn't about gaining control to walk free at this point in time---it's about taking control by confessing to a lesser crime. Placing blame back onto the victim and trying to deny a trial by confession. KWIM? (Remember Ted Bundy? not in comparison as a serial killer because Joran has only murdered twice that we know of---but TB chose to represent himself at a trial, instead of the numerous court appt. attn's given to him).

I can't get inside the head of JVDS. That level of arrogance and egocentric behavior is beyond my comprehension....thank the lord!

IMHO the only reason this young man confessed to anything (which he's lying anyway) is because he thinks it is to his benefit.

All of the above is JMHO. I also don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth about Stephany. Bless her.

sounds to me like the prisoners run the jails in peru. JVDS is toast... IMO

Correct me if I am wrong, but in one of the past threads - wasn't it reported that a friend of Stephany said she knew who JVS was and his connection to NH? I thought I read that somewhere?

Geraldo reported that a Puerto Rican singer in another casino he was in initially recognized him and alerted security but nothing came of it. Later, Joran met her in another casino.

What if they don't believe his confession? I would think they would still investigate the crime. What happens if they decide to charge him with a premeditated or aggravated murder? My guess is that it would be the same as here and he would have an opportunity to prove that it was a crime of passion (anger).

Remember BethK. was speaking about FBI tonight and implying ongoing investigation in Aruba - bet all info found on his laptop. Maybe, where Natalie is. Possibly others. He confessed because too much is on his computer.

Great news ......:woohoo: :woohoo:

Now I hope they got him to confess to where he put Natalie...

Prayers for all of the families who have been victimized by this monster!

from MSNBC:
snipped>>>

According to La Republica newspaper, he said that his anger exploded and he broke Stephany Flores' neck after she grabbed his laptop without his permission, and found out that he was involved in the disappearance of an American woman.
The paper quoted Van der Sloot as saying, "I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life."

my comments: My underlined part of article - IMO, she saw something linking him to NH "disappearance" which he felt was so bad he couldn't let her "live" knowing...that sorry 🤬🤬🤬! I also believe that LE had / has very solid evidence which they found on his laptop and IMO that helped his confession because in his sick mind, if he confesses than they didn't "bust him"...kinda like, he turned himself in as opposed to LE "finding him"
