O/T, sort of. Sorry. Someone said earlier that Greta was going to do a special on Joran, would that be this evening, or Sunday? And what time? tia

Now that the video has shown he was the only one entering and leaving his room (at least I'm assuming that if they had video of anyone else it would be disclosed)--ya know he's going to claim they came in through the window! Gosh, I hope the room didn't have a window!

I don't think that video stills show the pair entering his hotel room. I think that they're entering an elevator. (That would explain the absence of a do-not-disturb sign.) I might be wrong.

I apologize if some one already suggested this.

I think both coffees were for him. One for immediate consumption, one for on the go. I read he left with one coffee when leaving the hotel. I think Stephany was already dead or mortally wounded. No sinister alibi plot.
For those reading up on Peru, I will always associate the beautiful melody of the Peruvian El Condor Pasa (no , it is not a Simon Garfunkel original) with Joran's demise. I will be humming it when he gets convicted.

I'm thinking like Heartfortruth it was a ruse and that he dumped hers in the room - OR maybe even drank his and then walked out with hers. He thinks he's smarter than he is. Fact is, he needed his father to get him out of Natalie's murder.

I'm pretty sure I recall he used a key in the door when he opened it and flipped on the light switch on the wall. And when he was leaving alone, they showed the light still on and him pulling the door shut and sort of making sure the door was locked by pulling on the knob.

ETA: after reading my response, I'm starting to think I watch wayyy too many reality crime shows that I noticed that detail (lights, knob, etc). Either that, or my ex cop husband has me so trained about paying attention to the smallest details. :sleuth:

I have known so many parents who are blind to their little darlings' nefarious ways. I wonder if this event with VDS is the ultimate consequence of enabling kids. Not to blame his mother for everything, but maybe this could've been nipped in the bud years ago. Wonder if both mom and dad babied and excused everything he did when he was younger. I notice that JVDS is really huggy and clingy with his mom. I find that odd. It's not as though he were an abused child who never learned to bond with humans! I'm a firm believer in NOT enabling others. They need to suffer consequences of their behaviors without us parents trying to interfere with necessary life lessons.
I kept shaking my head all day...he's 22 years old and he's allegedly killed two innocent girls. What is wrong with this person? How did this happen? He's perfectly normal one day and then the next he's decided to kill? How could no one see?

I can't wait to see the other videos....But yes I think it was a ruse to...

If it was a ruse, he's not a very smart man. If he bought two coffees for the camera, surely he must have realized that the camera wouldn't capture anyone else coming and going from his room until the body was discovered. He reportedly asked for no maid service, hung a do not disturb sign and paid for 14 additional days. Now there is the ruse. I think the two cups were for him. It was 5 am when the two arrived and 3 hours later when he left. He probably hadn't slept a whole heck of a lot in the past 24 hours prior to fleeing Lima, hence the need for 2 coffees to make his get-away. He was picked up 3 days and some 2,000 miles later. Plus the taxi drivers said he slept a lot (and smoked a lot) during his journey. Sounds like he was completely exhausted and nervous according to all the news reports linked earlier.

RR, I think she is referring to the fact that Joran is NOT American. LOL

He wasn't perfectly normal one day and then not the next. Prior to his killing Natalee he had been seeing a psychiatrist for "anger issues" per his own statements and those of his friends --per his parents they sent him to a shrink for lying to them and stealing his brother's cell phone--sure, right. His conduct after Natalee's disappearance was clearly sociopathic--everyone saw it. In fact, Peter Devries had alot of it on videotape. Alot of good that did.

He doesn't want mommy. He wants mommy's money. Bet on it.

Probably. But, I do have to say that the look on his face in all of the videos of his perp walks yesterday and today sure did look like a very vulnerable, scared, gee I wish I was near someone who actually loves me and buys my b.s. aka Mommy.

It's the first time in 5 years I've actually seen him look scared sh**less.

Thanks...I realized that afterwards and deleted the post...lol!

And I'm sure he wants to get out of jail. ;)

Panthera, at this point I'm sure he wants to convince his mommy that he's not guilty and wants her financial support for bribeing the prison guards for extra luxuries such as an actual mattress and some semi-decent food in the prison he will be locked away in for years to come. All this is just my opinion based on the article above about the Dutch guy who blogged about visiting Peru's Dutch prisoners.

I heard a reporter or read it either (can't remember) a little bit ago on MSNBC's site and someone said he spoke fluent Spanish and had given a statement.....so he does know what all these folks are saying around him.:loser:

Wasn't it room 203 or some such? It's a high rise, nonetheless. Unless the "real" perp was spiderman, I'm not going to worry about anyone coming through his hostel window. LOL

I meant it metaphorically speaking. His parents knew that he was disturbed-IMHO-and did more harm by enabling him. There is really something defectively wrong with him...and I agree with the poster. He should have been locked away a long time ago.

I read somewhere that his mother wrote him off after his father died. Sorry no link but it would be impossible for me to go back through all these threads to find it. I also recall that after he implicated his father in Natalee's disappearance about 2 years ago?? his parents threw the towel in.

Clicking thanks wasn't enough this time. I agree with your post.

As Stephany walks past the clerk if you look down you can see long pants with the shirt. I don't think thats a dress and I see no jacket.
As she is walking into the room I feel like she is maneuvering something like a suitcase or something, but I don't see it in her hand in the lobby.

Could someone else look for the pant legs.

Wasn't it reported she was found in dress and jacket? I know we discussed it.

I admit I haven't read all the posts but I wanted to address this one. Yes, I see that she's in pants and a blouse. I don't see her carrying anything, though.

As far as what she was found in, I haven't read what she was wearing yet, just that she was dressed. I'll watch for it though.

Up to this point, although she was found in Joran's room, I haven't seen anything else that points directly at him. Everything being reported is so contradictory. I'm watching though, hoping the truth will come out.

I did read that one article from that guy who had visited Dutchmen in the Peruvian prison. Wow! Some of those had no lawyer and got 25 years.
