Fox news says the date and time is there but I couldn't see it.

They also said Joran looked up right at the surveillance camera when leaving the room. OMG

Yes, he certainly did. As someone else has posted, I saw the hour on the video clock as 11:16 etc. I thought this happened at 5 something in the morning?

Oh I'd just love to be able to reach out and grab her and drag her away from him. This video is just heartbreaking.

I do want to see the rest of the video though. What they've released isn't showing him coming back with coffee, hanging the "do not disturb" sign on the door, or talking to anyone. And why take the backpack & duffel bag to get coffee? :waitasec:

BBM: maybe he took the backpack & duffel bag to get rid of his white shirt that had blood on it, and other incriminating evidence... don't forget, he's teflon joran - nothing sticks... or so he thought.

It was reported last night he'd invited her to his room to "celebrate her winnings" at the casino. I just wish she'd known who he is and not gone there......... MOO

That's even strange too. We had that report she'd won the money in the afternoon, didn't we? May she won more.

Some people posted earlier that they thought perhaps he returned with the coffee, saw a dead Stephanie and panicked thinking he would be fingered with the murder--therefore explaining why he didn't go for help or report her death. In this video, does this look like the face of someone who is panicked at all??? Me thinks not.

JMO, but I don't believe we're seeing the entire video. The part with him going out to get coffee and returning is missing. So it seems what has been released is them entering the room together and him exiting the final time. It was also reported he had the bloody clothes with him when he was captured ~ however ~ I don't know how accurate that is. MOO

Nothing is making any sense right now. I hope as the media frenzy calms down, we'll get clarification.

Earlier reports did have him leaving around 12:00

EXCERPT: A Dutch criminal law expert Geert-Jans Knoops told the Dutch Telegraaf on Thursday Van der Sloot would not get any special legal protection as a Dutch national in Peru. He also said that it's likely that Van der Sloot, if convicted, would have to serve any jail term in Peru because there is no prisoner exchange treaty between The Netherlands and Peru.

I hope he's right!

The purpose of those treaties are mainly for getting Dutch citizens back that have been incarcerated on minor drug offenses IMO. Penalties are extremely severe in many countries as compared to Dutch criminal law.

The video I was watching showed him picking up the key at the hotel desk, both of them going into the room, him coming out of the room with the striped shirt and one bag over his shoulder, carrying another bag, and walking past the hotel desk. It didn't show him coming back in with coffee, or leaving again.

FoxNews is showing it on tv right now. Phil Keating (reporter) calls it the only video LE has released. So, there could be more.

And, Greta will be having a special report tonight on her show. :)

Shoot - I missed it on Fox! Was it similar to the frame by frame shots?

Frightening to see him look up at camera - demeanor is very calm, cool and collected. Chilling. Nothing like his demeanor upon arrival in Lima this morning, and during police display!

Sorry, I feel no pity for this creature. That disappeared when I read he also beat his dog to death years ago. And I was born and raised in The Netherlands.
He is just a vile murderous specimen with no compassion IMO.

Oh my goodness. I never knew that. Ughhhh.

Him leaving the hotel looks like the same demeanor as five years ago....

I also noticed she is always looking down.

Have they (and sorry if I missed it, the thread is loooong) released video from the casino yet?

Joran doesn't look so smug in his perp walk. He actually looks a bit scared.

I don't think so.

His hair seems to be the same in style and colour when he first entered the room and then again when he left for the final time. I see no orange hue.

Also, IF he had/has any marks or scratches on his arms, he would not be wearing a short sleeved shirt, would he?
He looks so ARROGANT, I want to scream!!

I believe he is 6' 5". Weight, I would guess at least 200 lbs.

For some reason the Dutch are the tallest nation in the world. Guess one reason why they caught him so super fast in Chile. Also kudo's to Chile for extraditing him so expediently to Peru. One thing in SA, everything generally happens in slow motion. Not NY minutes there.

Mr Flores has been a class act throughout this terrible tragedy. I must say that I like how he refers to Joran as 'the murderer'. He seems very convinced that Sloot is guilty of murdering his daughter. (as well as Natalee and the possibility of other victims as well.)

wm

I too think that there are probably other victims of Joran than the two that we know about. If even part of the description of Stephanie's injuries are true then there was definitely overkill in this death. The person who committed this crime was full of rage and didn't just kill her but had to keep beating and beating. He didn't just develope this kind of rage. More likely he has been taking his rage out on other helpless women. No telling what all he has done in all the countries that he has stayed in. I do not feel sorry for him at all. He is finally going to have to face the consequences of his actions. He has caused so much pain and grief for so many families. It is high time for it to end. He deserves what he will get. I dont' feel sorry for him because he is now the one who is frightened for himself. He did not feel sorry for the women he has killed. JMO.

I think that was done later on because it sure doesn't look the same when he was arrested as in the hotel video.
