I thought they were referring to wherever he stayed after he left the hotel in Peru. According to reports, he then headed to the resort town of Vina del Mar (another casino resort). My understanding was that he stayed there for one night and then hit the road again. PDI supposedly took him back to the place at Vina del Mar and that's where he stated he couldn't remember which room.

Regardless, none of it makes sense. If he stayed at a room for one night at Vina del Mar, I'm sure that would be documented by that resort and they would know what room he stayed in.

When Stephany follows Joran out of the lobby on the way to his room, she's not carrying anything in either hand. No purse, no keys, no wallet, nothing. She has no purse over her shoulder either. Did she leave all of her things in her car? If the motive was robbery as some people have suggested, it doesn't make a lot of sense. She wasn't carrying anything to rob her of. Weird.

No, if you very carefully view the lobby video, both of her hands are open and empty. It could be that he carried her wallet and keys for her if she had no pockets or purse, but her hands are empty. It also looks to me like she may be wearing a short skirt and tights, rather than slacks.

Just pure evil rage, IMO. You would think that a soft kill (ala Lacy Rocha) would be sufficient if Stephany was drugged with GHB. My current thoughts are that she must have refused one or more of Joran's requests and he can't take any kind of rejection from women, AT ALL. Many of the smart posters here at WS have already posted this theory. I completely agree with this thought process. His inner rage and lack of self-control are so incredibly evident to me. JMHO.

Hi Fran, I think that all of the video evidence points directly at him. There is video of them leaving the casino together. There is video of her driving him to his hotel. There is video of them entering his hotel room. There is video of him leaving his hotel room a few hours later with his bags--and without her. Also, the following has not been contradicted: When he left the hotel he told the clerk he would be returning. He did not return. Rather, he beat it out of the country. He tried to change his appearance. He ditched his belongings. Seems ALL the uncontradicted evidence points toward him.

Also, I am assuming that the video surveillance showing him leaving also does not show anyone else entering and leaving the room until Stephany's body was discovered.

That's pretty damning right there!

Now that makes sense, Southernvagirl. I couldn't figure out why the girl looked like she was hiding her face yet was not walking like she was impaired. So why was she walking like a zombie. Could it have been plain ol' drugs, not just date drug?

Being so involved with the Haleigh Cummings case,,,the first thing I thought was she went back to his room to do drugs,,,,I was waiting for the other sleuths to say this and they never did,,,so I was welllll,,,,,I will just add my 2 cents....This is the ONLY reason I could think of since she was a lesbian, as to what her interest would be with this world travleing poker player...

I guess one could argue that sometimes the ends do indeed justify the means, but for me the means are always at least as important as the ends. I don't like thugs like Joran, but I'm not willing to turn myself into one as well in order to see that he gets what's coming to him. It doesn't make me giddy with glee that Joran has finally run into thugs who are bigger than he is.

No disrespect, but how tall is he? If it is every man for himself in those prisons, Joran can thank his lucky stars he is about two or three times the size as some of the other prisoners there. To me, he will be in "like company" only taller than most.

Does anyone know Joran's height / weight? The guy is built like a bulldozer.

I wonder how humane it was for Natalee and Stephany to be overpowered by this 220 lb hulk? No, I will not 'lose a nights sleep' over how Joran will fare against his fellow thugs and I do not feel that thinking this way makes me a as well. Just trying to put things in perspective here. We must not lose sight of the fact that two beautiful young girls who had their whole lives ahead of them were both likely murdered at the hands of someone twice their size.

Yep. I agree is was a rage killing - the beating made it personal. I kinda think her lifestyle is what sent him over the edge. She probably didn't tell him she liked girls - that is, until she HAD to - fending off his advances. That started it and I bet she threw a couple of sarcastic comments either about his "manhood" or why she wouldn't like him even if she did like men kinda things. THAT sent him over the edge and the beating started.

Robbery was his motive - I said it last night and I stand by it - this was a crime of opportunity that JVDS screwed up big time.

Body language is so very telling, IMO. I was recently involved in a case and without going into details, the Prosecutor asked my neighbor (who is an incredidly honest and good man) if anyone else was present when he did the actions he admitted to doing. He said NO (to protect other innocent neighbors on our street) but he shook his head yes while saying no. I teased him about it later and told him he is a horrible liar. I and several people on our street were there and witnessed his actions. It's a political thing, but nonetheless...He couldn't even lie and say no w/out shaking his head yes. LOL
