Being so involved with the Haleigh Cummings case,,,the first thing I thought was she went back to his room to do drugs,,,,I was waiting for the other sleuths to say this and they never did,,,so I was welllll,,,,,I will just add my 2 cents....This is the ONLY reason I could think of since she was a lesbian, as to what her interest would be with this world travleing poker player...
There has nothing come out about Stephany, may she rest in peace, to indicate she used drugs.

I'm sure JVDS could've used any number of ruses to lure her to the hotel room if he wanted to rob her of her casino winnings. We all know how he lies.... MOO

Wonder why he had to retrieve his key from the desk to go in? Someone on duty 24 hours? Didn't look like anyone there when he left...gosh I dunno it is just so dang disturbing.

That's actually quite common overseas, particularly in lower end accommodations.

You typically have to also leave a copy of your passport and then get the key when you return (so yes, it's either manned 24 hours or there are desk people that you can ring by bell, etc. to instantly get your key).

It more or less allows your stuff to be held "hostage" so they're less inclined to get stiffed by someone who tries to leave without paying. They'd have proof it was your room, plus have your stuff and you couldn't retrieve it.

It'd also be a huge surprise, in a lower end place, to have any sort of do-not-disturb sign.

It'd be much more likely that someone would do what Joran did and just tell the desk people the room didn't need tending and he'd be living in it for x number of days and please not to disturb it.

Places like this don't typically do "housekeeping" like we're accustomed to for the most part - it'd be very rare to get your room cleaned or linens changed unless you were there for awhile and/or paid specifically for that.

Hope that helps :)

Can someone tell me WTHeck I'm watching????? GVS...I've never heard of this interchange. He asked to tell and is now backing out. He and his dad on the phone talking about human trafficking? Are they setting people up to believe that and not a murder?

Yep. I agree is was a rage killing - the beating made it personal. I kinda think her lifestyle is what sent him over the edge. She probably didn't tell him she liked girls - that is, until she HAD to - fending off his advances. That started it and I bet she threw a couple of sarcastic comments either about his "manhood" or why she wouldn't like him even if she did like men kinda things. THAT sent him over the edge and the beating started.

Robbery was his motive - I said it last night and I stand by it - this was a crime of opportunity that JVDS screwed up big time.

And if any of us has learned anything about narcissists throughout the murderous years, it's that they usually end up being their own worst enemy, time and time again. Praise heaven.

Watching (and rehashing) this old Greta interview.

I remember how she jumped on the "Joran's innocent - he didn't do this" bandwagon.

Wonder how she is feeling about all that tonight? Shame she doesn't have a call in show - I would call and ask her "how's that working for ya now?" lol

As per the Greta show.... omg, I almost gagged through the "I sold Natalee" phone convo between Joran and Paulis. Wow, academy award winning at the very least. Joran even pretended to cry. That convo was so staged! It sounded like they were reading from scripts, prepared by Paulis, no doubt.
*GAG*

Paulis and Joran pull their stories out of a hat.

Paulis: Have we tried the human trafficking story yet?
Joran: No, I don't think so.
Paulis: Ok, let me polish up that script.

Body language is so very telling, IMO. I was recently involved in a case and without going into details, the Prosecutor asked my neighbor (who is an incredidly honest and good man) if anyone else was present when he did the actions he admitted to doing. He said NO (to protect other innocent neighbors on our street) but he shook his head yes while saying no. I teased him about it later and told him he is a horrible liar. I and several people on our street were there and witnessed his actions. It's a political thing, but nonetheless...He couldn't even lie and say no w/out shaking his head yes. LOL

That's too funny. Some of the things my husband taught me, it's body language and repeating the question back to the person who is interrogating you. When you repeat the question, it's giving you time to think up an answer. He drives me crazy with this stuff. When I first met him, I was like damn, guess I can never lie to you, ha. :innocent:

And how old is he here with Greta? So in control. Probably felt like wrapping his hands...

She said they were in Thailand so he probably feels quite safe there.

  • #614
Did Joran get any $$$ directly or indirectly from FOX for this Thailand interview?

"The show also aired part of an audio recording provided by Van der Sloot, which he alleged is a phone conversation between him and his father, in which the father displays knowledge of his son's purported involvement in human trafficking. According to Mos, this voice heard on the recording is not that of Paulus van der Sloot—the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that the 'father's' voice is almost certainly that of Joran van der Sloot himself, trying to speak in a lower tone.

If you are referring to mine, yes...yes, I did mean that. I also meant to put that he was Dutch but forgot. :blushing:

Not that I am putting down all Dutch people, just that Joran isn't American.

:blowkiss:

I know Patty G. corrected me because I made the mistake of saying "an American tourist's hostel room" without realizing my error until much later even though of course I know he isn't. Although every country I've been in assumes I AM American because I speak English - even in England.

Years ago, when I was really traveling, I had a Canadian flag sewn on to my jacket.
