It sure isn't like what the WFTV legal analyst Sheaffer decribed. I saw a trowel not a shovel. I never saw the blanket toss. The black bag(s) wasn't partially buried. Sheaffer never said part of the search was up against a building.

There is obviously more video we have not seen.
The article said: The entire recording is 12 minutes long but Hoover would only allow the most important clips to be recorded by Eyewitness News.

I don't think its hard to believe. They are all a bunch of crooks and dishonest people in my opinion. DC is out there trying to find and hide evidence and JH is out to make money. Why DC invited him along I don't know. I guess its the only one that had a camera that was in on this stuff. I doubt Hoover is all that innocent either. He knew about this for a month before and he never said anything either. I think LP is right in that Hoover wanted to make money and that was his reasons for things. I wish LE would arrest them all for obstruction.

Yes, I think it's been determined that JH is the legal owner of the tape. I don't have a clue why anyone would think DC owned the tape or that he would sell a tape that seems to incriminate himself and prove he's a liar. That makes no sense to me. Why is it so difficult to believe that JH did the selling?

I just got finished watching it.........i wonder if that house is the one that everyone has been talking about that was for sale on hopespring, and had the coincidence of a last name. I would love to know who was on that phone......this is incriminating in my opinion. But we will have to wait for the phone records. In the article, KB said she heard DC state "it should be here." He had to be getting directions

I sure hope LE went back and had a good look at that house...he was obviously there for a reason...I think additional evidence is likely hidden there.

WFTV cracks me up.

"Dominic Casey can be seen ramming a metal rod into the ground at the crime scene mere feet from where Caylee's remains were later found. At the house, he forcefully knifed open black trash bags.

"He's almost animal-like," said WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer, as he viewed the tape. "It's more like, 'Let me find the hidden treasure down here,' than 'Let's preserve the integrity of the crime scene, let's preserve the sanctity of the human remains."

But, WHO said so?

the SA was talking about it during the hearing Thursday. Not on the record, but when they took a break for Baez to talk to casey when she arrived at the jail.

I sure hope the defense doesn't try to claim the crime scene was compromised before Caylee was found! ;)

Ah, but if they do... there is a tape! :D

How do you know where he was? I can't tell squat.

I think I've looked at the crime scene photos too many times.

I've also been physically to the location. Trees are trees and individual, even if they are covered in potato vine.

Can you see the distinguishing pavers in the third section? Mind you, I've only watched the video once. DC is probing and sort of slashing away into the background. You can see the white pavers or concrete blocks sitting there.

The first section where he's wandering around with cellphone is where the crime scene meets the road.

The third section where he probes and you can see the pavers in a configuration (in the background) is also the area of the crime scene.

I recognize it from going to the area (memorial) and from crime scene photos.

I don't think this is the crime scene at all. I think we are seeing DC's search of the "abandoned backyard".

He does have a "go at it" with a kind of feral quality though, doesn't he?

I agree with WFTV. You wouldn't want DC doing archeological work on any old tombs any time soon. Yikes, man!

He surely is getting directions on the phone. Don't understand why he's repeatedly slicing at the trash back like a big sissy. If y're that afraid, get some gloves on and get in the #$#@ bag if you want to know what's in there. It doesn't seem well-planned.

I want to laugh and cry at the same time.

Good grief, this guys trip into the woods with his little pen knife and a garden shovel had nothing to do with kio's assertions that this area was some schoolgirl hangout, nope..he was a man on a mission. And a mission that was so important on the 15th that he went in his dress slacks and good shoes. At least on the 16th he had on jeans and brought some gloves. He knew what he was looking for, no doubt about that.

His digging around that house was in such a small area that I don't think he was looking for her body in that area, he was looking something else...maybe the blackjack phone or some other incriminating evidence. Hmmm, makes me wonder if he actually did find something else, bet he did.

LOL! "Animal like?" He's slicing at those trash bags like a squeamish 13 year old girl.

I did not say that part was the crime scene. I guess you'd have to reread my original post. Two sections are the crime scene. I have absolutely no clue where the concrete block house is located!

He is wearing gloves on the 16th, while using the rod thingy. What if Caylee had been in one of those bags? He clearly had no intent of perserving the evidence. Nothing says this evidence won't help my client like destroying it.

The boy is clearly not bright. Five months after the time of death he is clearly thinking he is going to find a BODY. That stick wouldn't tell him if he was hitting bones anymore than it tells him how many sticks he is shoving out of the way.
Ya know, for all we know, the As during their "own" investigation were trying to figure out Casey's (non) clues. It seems like he's looking for something concrete...an object, not a body.

Well, wherever it is it's within 30 minutes of the crime scene (due to the time stamp), right?

It's 23 minutes after the tape starts in real time and about 32 seconds of tape time according to the counter. I'm looking at Live Search Maps Birds Eye view and I don't see a derelict house anywhere near there. Also in the very first part of the tape when he steps out of the woods there is a very definite demarcation between the woods and a neatly mowed grassy area. The only place is see that would be at the back of the yard of that last house on Hopespring (the one with the wooden fence). Kind of backs up what RK said in one of his 911 calls, he described the area as where the mowed area stops.

Ok...now I'm rambling. :bang:

I was thinking the same thing! I wonder if he would have screamed if he saw a snake!

I'd love to know what he told LE on Friday. I have a feeling his explanation could be a whole new light on this video.
