pineapple to go....

  • #21
How long was the flight from Bouder to Mich.? Was it ever asked of the R's if they ususally took snacks for the children on board the plane for this trip?

Could the pineapple have been originally bought and intended for the plane trip as part of breakfast?

Just knowing what I do of PR and her housekeeping habits- I don't think the pineapple was intended for the plane ride, nor do I think it was intended for breakfast. It could have been on that dining room table from the last time PR fixed it for her daughter. We do know JBR ate pineapple from that bowl about 2 hours before she died, but we can't be sure PR took it out just for that purpose, or if it was sitting on the dining room table (along with the spoon, tea bag in a glass and kleenex box.) from an earlier time. LHP always said that none of the R ever put anything away or back where it belonged. Dirty laundry, dishes, etc. LHP was not at the R home to clean since Dec 23 for the party. PR was leaving for a 2-week trip. I am sure had she gone, that pineapple would have been sitting there until LHP came back 2 weeks later to clean it up.

I don't know how to do a poll,so I'll just ask...for those few (or one) who think the pineapple was to be taken on a road trip w. JB to ensure she stayed hydrated,I have to mention that the pineapple was found in a bowl, complete w spoon,as if it had been served as snack..and we know in fact JB did have pineapple approx. 2 hrs bf she died.
But this doesn't explain how any was to be taken WITH her...there was no saran wrap or tin foil covering the bowl, and the tupperware or whatever it was in her room was not proven to have any pineapple in it..that was only suggested by Smit the schmuck, and most likely contained beads or other craft supplies that JB was known to have liked to play with. And if it was that darned important,he wouldn't have forgotten it anyway...it would be too risky to go all the way back up to her room again!
any way any RST,businessman and or attorney tactics can twist this one?:D what did said so-called intruder do...take the flashlight back up but...not prepare the pineapple-to-go? maybe he couldn't find the saran wrap???? yea.that's it. :p

Someone asked me to explain the pineapple in an intruder theory, so I said maybe it was supposed to go with her to keep her hydrated. Someone (yet another RDI poster) said it might make for a reward treat. Thats how I would include the pineapple in IDI, as a possible reward treat for JBR during a long road trip without any stops.

It could've also been like a last meal. The RN author said that JBR could be 'executed,' remember. Executions come with last meals, generally.

A youngster snacking on pineapple or any other favorite fruit is a simple everyday family activity. It was so ordinary for the Ramseys, they completely forgot about it when they were thrown into creating a story about their daughter suddenly being missing.
Ooops, Patsy and John weren't savy enough to think of what would have shown up in their daughter's digestive system. But, it's their immediate denial of even having pineapple in the house and Patsy making it even more suspicious when she strongly refused to even recognize the serving dish or table setting. I think her quote was "That's not my set up."
The presence of the pineapple is one of the many (and important) corners the Ramsey's were backed into as they tried to distance themselves from the presence of their dead daughter's body.
Dee-Dee is right on, they had to deny the whole pineapple picture because it did not fit into the arrive-home-story they made up.
If they were really innocent, it would have been much easier to fess up and say, "Oh yeah. The pineapple has been out on the table since early Christmas morning." And then they could have been more naturally puzzled about the appearance of it in JonBenet's stomach.
To protest so much is a give away of their involvement.

Yes, if the execution is carried out by officials in a prison. Do you really believe JonBenet was asked what she wanted as her last meal?

No, I won't do it. It's too easy.

After hearing that someone threatened to behead a child, I'd believe almost anything.

LOL,Hold,I don't think even you believe the things you say. :D

(maybe for the electric chair),but point is,the pineapple wasn't prepared to go..much less w cream underneath it.It was obviously just a snack eaten 2 hrs bf she was killed, most likely served by Patsy;her prints were on the bowl..nothing more, nothing less.just plain common sense.
The R's were asked to look for anything out of place (funny they had to be asked to do that...innocent parents would have been doing that anyway),and not once did they ever say 'hey...how did that pineapple get there?! that's not our bowl....' ,etc.only when they learned of the pineapple in JB's stomach and were q'd about the pics did they deny it.

I've seen it- but I think of JBR every time I do.
me too,I used to laugh whenever I saw one;it reminded me of QVC host Steve Bryant cutting his hand on a knife he was demonstrating when he was cutting up a pineapple, live on the air.He ended up leaving the show mid-air to go to ER for a few stitches..that was one darn good set of knives he was selling!
now sad to say it reminds me of JB.

What makes you believe that? Because there was no cling wrap? I know what a pesky problem those flies are in, what, 12 degrees farenheit.

Threatening to behead a child and ACTUALLY doing it....are TWO different things. Her head was intact...

Excellent POINT!! I know if that IF my daughter had of been "kidnapped", and I had "supposedly" searched the house a little for her, and in the process, saw a bowl that was not mine filled with pineapple on the table, along with a tea glass that neither I nor any other member of my family left out, then that would be the FIRST thing that I would tell the police when they arrived.

If I had a dollar for every time I threatened to kill someone, I'd be a rich man!

I for one have never heard of anyone threatening verbally or in writing to 'behead' a small child. Nor have I ever heard anyone verbally or in writing, threaten to 'execute' a small child.

Have you?

Only if Frank Miller counts.

In all seriousness, Holdon, again, you miss the larger context. The writer clearly attempted to create the impression of Islamic terror, thus the "foreign faction" (my guess is they just didn't know how to spell Hizbollah [or is it Hezbollah? Or Hizbulla?], or Jamaat-i-Islamiyya, or al-Qaeda or Osama [Usama?] bin Laden or Abu Sayyef. [Heck, the gov't can agree half the time]). That's where the "beheading" part comes in: what part of the world do people think of when they hear someone was executed by beheading? The Middle East. And don't fool yourself: LONG before 9/11, it was common knowledge that they chop off body parts in that part of the world, including, but not limited to, heads.

Think about it.

Oh, yeah. It didn't have to be liquid pineapple. Pineapple does have juice, you know.

Operative word here is 'guess'. Your 'guess' is a long shot, and the idea that beheading is exclusively middle-eastern ignores, for mysterious reason only you could explain, states that have beheaded to execute, like France.
