I have not seen BC quoted as saying the George is too well known to go to another hospital. Do you have a link?

No...I haven't had a chance to go through today's news stories yet. The poster who posted about it might have a link though?

Sorry. I thought since you said it that you would have the link :waitasec:

NP....maybe it was from NG? If only BC limited himself to one interview a day or an interview a week, then we could keep better track of what he's saying!

And on that note, chores are calling!

Is it possible that GA was guilt tripped into not checking into a (inpatient) hospital?

We don't know that George tried to commit suicide. Only that he sent text messages threatening to do so, and was found with a 12 pack and pizza and in good enough shape to walk to the car himself.

George asking the motel owner where to get the best pizza and talking about the weather doesnt show us he was perfectly fine. It suggests he wanted the staff to think that he was so he could end his life without them barging in, or calling the cops. Classic mask-wearing for someone who is genuinely depressed or suicidal. If it was preplanned and a fake for whatever reason, why wouldnt he act all depressed when he checked in?
What we do know is that when LE arrived at the motel, he said he had just needed time alone to think things through.(per Chief Chittwood ) They believed differently.... even though he wasnt telling them he was suicidal.
And according to BC, he did actually consume prescription meds. Even if he hadnt, its clear to most people he needs help to begin healing.

He probably knew this deep down and so he complied. The reason why the suicide rate for males is higher than women is because its so hard for them to ask for help, or to even admit they need help. They're 'supposed' to be tough. Be a man. Suck it all in. But depression is the ultimate feeling of weakness and helplessness..The opposite of what we see as masculinity.

I believe that because GA just wanted to be left alone when LE showed up at the motel- that was a red flag to them that something was really wrong.
From my experiences with mental health teams, when someone is pleading for help- they are viewed as an attention seeker. Its when you are denying you need that help that they step in and make the decision for you.

exactly ..

PleaseI am sorry ,but I do not think that we can assume that because many here do not think GA shouldn't be with CA,that is what GA wants. I am sure that He has discussed this with his Drs.,and if that is what he truly wanted.than he would not have been discharged home.He is after all an adult, and I am sure over the last couple of weeks, had PLENTY of oppurtunity to express what he wanted.Maybe-just maybe,he loves her and wants to be with what little else he has left of his family!!!

last i checked, george was wearing big boy pants and could make the decisions that he feels are best for him, which includes the whole extended stay in a hospital, the decisions he made which put him there, and the place he is tonight. but there is nothing said here on websleuths which should be construed as having "caused" george anthony's actions. no one here is making george their victim.

I agree that Ga most likely loves CA - although people suffering from depression sometimes have underlying issues (ones not due to the obvious in this situation). We do not know if GA and his Doctors agreed about whether he should go home or go to an inpatient hospital. Doctors can not make you do something, could make him when he was in under the Baker Act but not now. Doctors would recommended this or that.

With the high cost of any type of inpatient health care, the A's might not have the finances for the continued care he was receiving. It is possible that GA did not want to go home, but finances forced him to...it's also possible that he simply wanted to go back to the house, back to the only 2 people he has left, C & L. Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling we will be hearing more breaking news about GA in the very near future.

The reality is that GA is 55 (+?), has no employment history, 2 disability claims against former employers, a disabling injury to his knee, and no transferable skills. This all puts him at the bottom of the job pool as employers are not eager to hire anyone with all of these things against them. Then if we look at the economic conditions around the country with tens of thousands of qualified, skilled people being laid off every week, GA's employment future is nil.

Compounded on top of all of this is the very real fact that GA has been thrust into the media and where ever he goes, people point and stare at him out of curiosity or with disdain. He is no longer GA, the average faceless, nameless, middle-class man who needs a job, he is "GA, father of Public Enemy #1" who has had his entire life revealed in sordid detail to everyone with a television or a newspaper. It is no wonder he couldn't face standing in line at a job fair, or facing interviewers for a job.

If I were the A's, I would sell everything I owned, buy a travel trailer and roam the country doing part time employment as far away from Orlando as fast as possible. I would cross out my ill-conceived daughter from my life, leave my adult, employed son to his own devices if he didn't want to come along and disappear to find some peace and space. KC has already sucked the life force out of everyone around her, I would leave before she sucked out my soul too.

Awesome post Dot! :clap::clap::clap:

"A source told WESH 2 the family also made extensive plans to get him out of the hospital away from the camera's eye."

What? There were cameras at the hospital? :waitasec:

LOL! I too read that, and thought, huh?...Oh yeah, I guess the cameras are closer to GA outside of a hospital, than outside of his house on the public sidewalk.

Somebody in that A family is not thinking with their brain.

Of all the places for GA to go.......from the frying pot into the fire.......back with CA?LA and planning a funeral while staying at the house that is a crime scene and GA is suppose to heal?
I doubt if CA/LA will be 'nice' to GA........IMO, they will scream WHY DID YOU DO THIS STUNT, YOU HURT OUR KC..............he will be broken again.
Now GA will go back to lying and help CA, do what ever CA wants.......oh boy, just when I thought there was a little hope that GA would stand up for Caylee........
depression problems do not go away in 2 weeks........IMO

The whole thing almost gives me the mental picture of Cindy and Lee, kidnapping George from Halifax and returning with him to her lair...like, "here, my pretty...take a bite of this koolaid apple"! J/K somewhat, but more like, talking George out of going to another hospital, so they could get him back home and "re-program" him. :(

Please let me start out with a disclaimer that I do not know anything about the laws governing mental health in Florida. I do have a lot of personal experience in regards to mental health in SC as my adopted daughter is Bipolar and she was in and out of behavioral treatment centers and state hospitals, as well as living in a group home for a year. The reason? Thoughts of suicide. If you threaten to harm yourself or others, you can be placed in one of the above places (AFTER they do an assessment) for up to 10 days usually (in my case insurance had a major role because they would only pay up to 10 days at a time).

I am not a supporter of the Anthony's but I'm going to have to give George the benefit of the doubt on this one. From what I've read, something was mention in his letter that was found about harming himself. Given the enormous amount of stress that he has been under, I'm not surprised by what he was thinking. I've thought long and hard about his actions. We do not know what we would do if we were in his shoes. This could have happened to any of us. I guess this is hitting very close to home as my 20 yo daughter, now living in TX, was admitted to a state hospital about 3 days after George was, wanting to harm herself again.

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry for what ya'll are having to go through with this latest crisis. It's not easy.. I hope she gets to feeling better soon! :blowkiss:

I agree. I think George just texting that he wanted to die means he needed intervention. However, that doesn't mean that he actually tried to kill himself. I think it was a call for help and that he was at the end of his rope.
I was giving an example of how the hospital stay doesn't prove anything.

bold by me

And, to me, that does not mean it was a ploy or anything else devious.

I'm confused. If he was just going HOME from the hospital why did they do the three car shuffle and side exit scam? I understand not wanting to be photographed leaving the hospital. But it is not like he's going to a SECURE location yet undetermined--he went right back home and then it was announced that he was back home!! It's strange. I think BC should shut his yap about announcing GA's every move. If you want privacy then shut it!
