Hi, I found an article about her from 1994. It's locked, so I had to pay for the access.
http://www.archiwum.wyborcza.pl/Archiwum/1,0,27009,19940531WA-DLO,ZAGADKOWY_MORD,.html

The body of young woman was found yesterday morning (May 30) by a forestry worker in the woods surrounding Czarna Struga between Legionow and Marki. Girl, murdered on Saturday, was stabbed with a knife. Nearby police discovered a burned maluch (Fiat 126p) stolen on Friday in nearby Skrzeszew.

Description of the victim: approximately 20 years old, 163 cm tall. Short hair dyed red, slim build, no make-up, blue eyes, well-groomed hands, fingernails painted bright red. She had a blue tattoo on her left shoulder blade: initials "P" and "M" divided with a rose.

She was wearing jeans and a navy blue blouse. She had no shoes or socks on.

The victim had marks of beating on her face and body, three stab wounds on her neck and almost 6 cm long on her chest that was probably inflicted after she had died. It's not excluded she had been raped.

[...] The police couldn't tell anything about murderer(s) yet. It's certain that they were in a hurry, because they hadn't tried to hide the body. They threw it in the bushes and covered with branches. It was near the large glade, where - as told us prosecutor Beata Nowosad from Legionow - picnics often take place.

[...] At a distance of 100-200m from crime scene, near the route Warsaw-Nieporet, another car was found: Polonez. We found out that is was also stolen on Friday, in Zoliborz. The area is known from dumping and burning stolen vehicles with removed parts.

Thank you so much Anka, and welcome!

So.....perhaps two stolen cars involved? This sounds like a stranger abduction to me.

The news that police 'have not ruled out' the possibility she was raped made my heart sink. That means they haven't done any DNA. And I am afraid they may not have kept samples, either.

It makes me think... You know in the 1994 there were some gang wars in Warsaw and around, Marki included. Maybe, just maybe, she was a victim of some retaliation.

That wouldn't surprise me at all, unfortunately.

Criminal tattoo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Russian criminal tattoos have a complex system of symbols which can give quite detailed information about the wearer. Not only do the symbols carry meaning but the area of the body on which they are placed may be meaningful too. The initiation tattoo of a new gang member is usually placed on the chest and may incorporate a rose. A rose on the chest is also used within the Russian Mafia. Wearing false or unearned tattoos is punishable in the criminal underworld, usually by removal of the tattoo, followed by beatings and sometimes rape"

"Tattoos done in a Russian prison often have a distinct bluish color (due to being made with ink from a ballpoint pen) and usually appear somewhat blurred because of the lack of instruments to draw fine lines"

Had a look around the Interpol website of people missing in countries around Poland but didn't really see anyone who stood out or really fit the timeline. But I'm guessing countries like the Czech Republic, for example, have many more missing around this time than listed there.

Yet I keep coming back to this lady http://www.interpol.int/notice/search/missing/2012-6850

I don't know why, eye colour is wrong, chin is wrong and over six hours away, plus nearly a years difference between dates. But I have had this missing person on my mind at work today, was shocked at how many women missing on interpol are from Belarus, I wish I could read more about her

Bumping for this young lady, somebody somewhere, must be wondering why she has not come home.

mentioned above, Iwona Mogiła-Lisowska, missing in 1992, was presumed dead in the same year. Here is her doe network profile http://doenetwork.org/cases/1240dfpol.html. And in Porchlight http://z13.invisionfree.com/PorchlightEurope/index.php?showtopic=1713.

Her father is campaigning since and tirelessly searching for her. He used services of psychics as well (popular in Eastern Europe) and have been told that his daughter Iwona is dead and buried under/in concrete, they just don't know where.

From article in 2010 a resident of the street Ulanska in Głowno discovered during the reconstruction of the garage corpse under the concrete floor. The body was wrapped in foil and wire. House was previously owned by couple from Łodz and used as their summer house. Police and prosecutors refused to comment.

I have been unable to find anything from recent years finally confirming by police that it was Iwona and her doe network is still up.

I have noticed few discrepancies about Jane Doe between Doe network and newspaper provided by Anka, apart from obvious misspelling of town Marki (sorry, I am into details). Doe network states date of discovery as 30 April 1994, newspaper 30 May 1994. Doe network states long dark hair, grey eyes; newspaper states short hair dyed red, blue eyes. Height is a bit off too, but not by much. All the rest of information are the same.

http://doenetwork.org/cases/229ufpol.html

As newspaper is stating that JD was discovered just day prior, on 30th May 1994, and as fresh in their local news I believe (IMHOO) that that information about JD might be correct. But could Doe network have it wrong?

So we have established that JD was located in woods surrounding Czarna Struga between Legionow and Marki, which is close to Warsaw.

The only source for DN entry is a dead link. However, it was archived by Wayback Machine. The website is now defunct, but it was actually maintained by Mazovian Police (Mazovia/Mazowsze is the province where Warsaw is) and it listed missing and unidentified persons from the Mazovia area. I think that Doe Network has the right information. The website provides a graphic post-mortem photo of the UID. Her hair are long and not dyed red!

Warning: Graphic post mortem photo at link.

The second picture, that doesn't show up in the Wayback Machine link was probably the photo of the tatttoo.
The description in the link doesn't have any more info than DN description, but for the record, here's the translation:

"On 30.04.1994, in the forest near the town of Marki, a body of an unknown woman was found. The body had numerous stab and cut wounds to the chest, back and neck. To date, the identity of the deceased has not been established.

Description: age 19-24 years, height 165 cm, slim slender build, long dark hair, round face, high forehead, gray eyes;thick, wide average nose; averager ears, missing teeth visible.
The victim's clothing: MUSTANG CLASSIC STYLE blue jeans, blue/navy-blue buttoned blouse, pink panties with bright lace.

Distinguishing marks: blue tattoo on the left arm, a rose and the letters D and M, for Depeche Mode...
Any fan of this band should recognize the rose and the two letters. Maybe this will help with the identification and further progress of the case?"

Looking at her postmortem photo, I wonder if perhaps she's Romani. Their dispersion might also explain why she has not been missed.

Polish Romani woman with a tattoo? Not very probable.
