Police Misconduct??

The I-Team has also been told by investigators that state police seized the Oakbrook department personnel files of two of Peterson's closest friends on the force. One recently resigned while under investigation for professional misconduct. The other was recently terminated for lying and unauthorized access of criminal files.

That is the same allegation that sources say Drew Peterson is facing in Bolingbrook - the sale of criminal records.

WHOA!!!! The crapola's hitting the fan!!!!!!

Attention Mods! You can probably merge this with the police misconduct thread. The allegations are regarding Steve, Drew, and others.

This is much more interesting than TV soaps. Every day brings someone new to the case. Honestly, I can't recall a case with so many far-reaching twists.

I know! I've never seen a case where I have to read an article, and reread it several times to make sure I'm actually seeing what I am seeing!

Wonder what RMUCHA will have to say about this../ I'd be interested in hearing his side of this incident.

I could almost excuse snooping on a guy your daughter is dating or something like that. But selling criminal records???? Who were they all selling criminal records to? Most of that stuff is available online through a paid data base anyways, isn't it?

This certainly explains a lot of the assets Drew owns.

The more that is being looked at surrounding all of DrewP's dealing, could it happen that other officers would see it's necessary to get rid of DrewP before more dirty dealings are uncovered?
Could DrewP find himself now the hunted instead of the hunter?
Many have talked about the possibility of him snapping and doing away with himself, that could be the way one of his cohorts could do away with him without many questions.

Not right now - too much publicity and media surrounding the house.

Interesting scenario and one I'd welcome (down with Drew!)... but I'm doubtful it would happen. While a dirty cop linked to Drew would probably like for Drew to disappear, it is highly unlikely that any of them would put themselves at a much greater risk and actually do it.

It is important to realize that Drew and his home are under constant, continual police and media surveillance. News crews with video cameras, electronic bugging, police tails, anyone recognizing Drew in public. I don't see how any dirty cop would seriously consider murdering Drew knowing in all likelihood he would be probably seen and very likely caught. Plus a dirty cop thinking of killing Drew has to think about the consequences. Right now, the dirty cop if caught faces only a loss of pension and a remote chance of a few years in jail. Murder Drew and now the dirty cop could face life imprisonment or the death penalty.

I could see a dirty cop with info on Drew turning state's evidence to avoid prison time.

Things have happened to prisoners also when they're in custody, so If DrewP were to be arrested........

Nothing would surprise me with this case, I just want him to pay!

This case is unlike any others so you never know.......cops could say Drew pulled a gun on them & they had to protect themselves.

Now if he were in prison, that's a different story. He'd be very vulnerable, not only to his fellow cops, but to other prisoners (all of whom hate cops)

I seriously do not believe that any cop is going to bump Drew off no matter what he knows.
IMO, most "dirty" cops are guilty of abusing their position for monetary gain or to abuse and control wives, girlfriends, family and friends. Some are racially prejudiced. Some get a thrill out of having an excuse to beat on someone no matter who they are. I believe that it is rare that a cop would think he had so much power that he could go around killing his bad cop buddies when they got caught. Remember, most started out wanting to do good things, not kill people. Not all bad cops are psychopaths.
For some reason, men who murder seem to find it much easier to kill a wife or girlfriend than male acquaintence. Go ahead, call me biased, but the statistics I'm sure would back me up. They might accidentally kill someone in a fight, but on purpose?...they save the planned hits for the women in their lives.
I really hate that a few bad apples have to cast doubt on the integrity of police officers aorund the country. Bad cops disgust me.
(Some of the good ones are really sexy tho;) ...)

Looks like young Steve and his wife Teresa also have a nice home!

One thing I found extremely interesting... Drew P is facing allegations that he sold criminal records info... even more serious than running the names of Stacy friends and family through the computer!

Randy was on findstacy site last night and said it was nothing. I wonder if this came off the heels of either Drew or Brodsky spouting off about how "everyone does it" comments?

Yes, they do have a nice home.
