Carrying this over from the "Irwin Attorney: "Jersey Bragged About Kidnapping" thread.

Kansas City police have asked for the parents to submit to separate interviews in which tough questions will be asked. Young reiterated Friday that police are not asking for Bradley and Irwin's attorneys to be excluded from the interviews, but that the couple not be interviewed together.

Guess it's the "tough" questions they don't want to answer. :furious:

I'd say all questions:

“My own view is that my clients should never talk to police,” Picerno said Tuesday.
“I tell them, ‘The prisons are full of people who talked to the police. The police are going to do what they are going to do, with or without your cooperation and your statement.’ ”

What's with the Stroud's Chicken Restaurant? I have seen this mentioned throughout the case.

5410 NE Oak Ridge Rd.

i'm not trying to argue with you, i just want to point out that this statement was made before JP even joined the case officially. also, he has since said this:

...Joe and I are free any time. Any questions that any LE official has, they should send it our way, we will get an answer for them.

Q: Do you forsee a time when they might sit down with police again?
JP: It's possible. Yes, I wouldn't rule anything out.

Picerno's statement makes me so darn angry. It makes sense if the cops wanted to ask them about a crime of some kind, like theft from the job site, or
forged checks. Sure, stall and stay away from the interviews as long as possible, especially if you are guilty.

BUT THEIR BABY IS MISSING. With that in mind, Picerno's statement is pathetic. imoo

.....er..thanks but no thanks there Joe....

LE does not and should not ask questions about a missing child to Criminal Defense Attorneys. GMAB! They need to speak directly to the parents, preferably w/o attorneys to stop them asking important questions.

How many innocent parents bring a criminal defense attorney with them to the police station to find their missing baby? If you feel the need to bring one, you have more problems than a missing child..

Why can't they?

Respectfully BBM

Personally, I like good defense attorneys. If guilty, I want the best defense possible given. If not guilty, well, all the more reason to have the best defense attorneys representing you.

IMO, the parents will NOT be allowed by their attorneys to sit down and be questioned by LE again unless at some future point in time, it would be to the parents' advantage. Apparently, right now-it's not. It's obviously not in either parent's best interest. There's a reason for that and the attorneys have advised the parents accordingly. Of course, LE isn't going to be dictated by the defense team and submit questions to them. But, what else is a defense attorney to say given the circumstances? Absolutely, no reason for LE to reveal their hand to these parents nor their attorneys. None.

"possible" and "wouldn't rule anything out"... IMO is attorney speak for No, but will get back to you if we deem it's in our clients' best interests in the future.

Yes, thank you epiphany. We surely need an interpreter when it comes to attorney-speak.

IOW..don't call us, we'll call you....

Why can't they?

The parents can do anything they want...including not talking to LE, which is the choice they have made.

I found this Stroud's Restaurant. It is 16 miles from Lister. I only found one in the city. What is the significance of this place and why did LE search behind it?

Stroud's is just a landmark to the property that was actually searched. I don't think Stroud's in and of itself is anything. Just that locals know exactly what area was searched at 35 and Vivion. If you have ever eaten at Stroud's, you know why! mmmmmmmmm

Other than Mom making/cooking (heating up?) a chicken dinner that evening, I don't know.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. The question is why shouldn't police go through a third party (defense attorneys) to ask a question of a witness?.

Aside from the obvious being protocol and legal ramifications, there is technique. When interviewing, it is necessary to see the reaction and the immediate response, not filtered through the mouth of an attorney.

They have done several searches for Lisa behind this place. Somehow, some way, somebody in this case was seen there that day...or so it seems.
