No, it doesn't change my mind about the case. I've always said from the beginning that there are too many unanswered questions to jump to the conclusion that KC is a murderer. Why were the cadaver dogs never taken to any of the players' homes, cars, storage units, etc, to rule them out? The same for KMT, and now the meter reader (who I believe is probably completely innocent.) The cadaver dogs should obviously inspect their homes/cars etc just as a matter of routine investigation, also KMT's boyfriend's home. (And I was surprised no luminol or anything was ever done at the Glenwood and Sutton PL apts or other locations frequented by KC and Caylee.) Due to none of this ever being done, all we know at this point, due to the one hair possibly indicating a dead Caylee in KC's car trunk, is that someone may have put a deceased Caylee in the trunk of KC's car at some point. That's all there is. Obviously anyone could have done that anytime her car was unlocked, or anyone with access to her keys.
Of course KC also could have placed Caylee there after she died of a tragic accident or after murdering her if that is what happened. But the theory that KC murdered Caylee is just that, a theory. It's not known that she even was the one who placed Caylee in the trunk, if Caylee even was in the trunk, it's only a theory. It has been very troubling to see it repeated literally hundreds of times from the beginning of this case, both in the media and on this website, that KC definitely killed Caylee, because this is simply not known.
It is so unfortunate that the body was not recovered when the meter reader first reported it, because Caylee's body could very possibly have provided more evidence 4 months ago, there could have been soft tissue evidence, and the remains might have been less scattered, giving a much more accurate picture. Also the family would have been put through 4 less months of all that they've been put through (not that finding the body actually gives a family "closure"--as Mark Klaas said on TV the other day, "closure" in these cases, for the families, is pretty much a myth.) The fact that this area had reportedly been searched with the cadaver dogs and the body was not found reminds us that the dogs are fantastic and can be very useful in finding corpses but are not infallible, OR, on the other hand, the explanation might be that the body was not there at all at the time the dogs were there, which could indicate another perpetrator. Hopefully this turn of events will bring about some more investigation that will lead to more facts to work with. Obviously the LE have a wealth of experience and I'm not questioning them, I just think they need a lot more information to work with and the investigation should have been much broader, but it's not too late to broaden the investigation now.
