Why couldn't people who share similar brain defects, especially where hormones are involved, share similar physical manifestations of those hormones?

Women with increased testosterone (sometimes because of PCOS) have increased facial/body hair. High testosterone causes lots of body hair in general (hense why men have thicker and fuller body hair than women.)

Browbones, facial development.... All of these things can be affected

Well he needs to provide support for any such claims. Otherwise it's just speculation. It's also important to note that having these disorders does not cause people to kill or harm, though many certainly choose to.

But does Jodi show any of these traits? Or is this not supposed to point to her?

The last statement you quoted is from my studying both the Borderline neural network vs the APD neural network..

Furthermore I'm
Just qualifying the idea that BPD is overdiagnosed in the justice system among women who actually carry the traits of sociopathy/psychopathy. Because kn trial it is to the benefit of female clients to claim "BPD" rather than rest on the laurels of appearing as a psychopath/sociopath. Bc of this, it has added an unfair stigma to ppl like me with Borferline mood disorder who have PTSD from childhood abuse.

Just picked his site because the particular entry I was quoting earlier reminded me of my views on BPD (as I am diagnosed BPD).

And unlike borderline PD's (really just a mood disorder) antisocial PDs have no remorse for their actions and cannot see the gravity of the pain they've caused. Jodi has never showed true remorse for killing Travis.

IMHO

Jodi's original body type suggests estrogen deficiency. Before her breast enlargement, she was rather flat and built really thin. She could even have poly cystic ovarian syndrome with high testosterone.

She actually does have somewhat of an "Adams apple".

Her eyes are rather deep set and her brow bone is low.

She's always trying to keep her skin clear with anti acne washes and moisturizers.
I don't really want to look at any other parts of her to figure it out... Ew. Lol

I have no training in mental health. I have to say from what I've seen through life she is psychopathic. Include BPD from what I've heard. I sstill think there is insanity hiding in her. She is all around out of whack! That includes physically. :seeya:

I'll go further, I think she knows full well the gravity and the pain she has caused and is still glad she did it, she has continued to upset Travis' family with more and more accusations against him, and clearly has no issue with that, nor did she stop, even after conviction, when it did very little to help her.

The fact that there are tests that can identify if a person is a psychopath. What would be the motivation to seek these tests? If tests were court ordered it stands to reason that diagnosis would follow. But,why would someone want to find out that they are psychopathic?
It would be difficult to even convince A psychopath to get testing. Their disorder makes them believe they are normal.

There seems to be an increase in the rate of female perpetrated violence. Not equal to rates of male violence. What could be the cause of increase in Women?

Jodi was no doubt at the helm of decision on how to pled her case. Would it not be the first line of defense to site some type of diminished mental capacity? She would not allow the mental illness defense because of her narcism. She will use this angle because she has been found guilty of 1st. Degree murder. (IMO).

Female Psychopathy and sex

http://www.whale.to/c/female_psychopaths.html

"The hormone testosterone is the key to recognising female psychopaths. They all have the same elevated levels of the hormone as male psychopaths. Higher testosterone levels are associated with increased sex drive, increased sexual activity and as a result a desire to hold power over men. Vicious bullying and aggressive exploitation of non-psychopathic females in workplaces and organisations is also common with the pathology. Testosterone may also be related to the lack of parenting behavior seen in many psychopathic women. Psychopathic females have been found to be less interested in motherhood—even when they have children.

More to read at link.

I've got some doubts about this, and would like to see an actual study referenced for some of the issues raised in that article. While I think you are on fairly safe ground with testosterone influencing sex drive, why are not all males psychopaths, since they have a vastly greater amount of testosterone manufactured by their bodies?

Or, she just isn't the most feminine of females. Being in jail for 3 years doesn't do a lot for your looks either. I don't think she has a particularly pronounced brow ridge, which is what you would look at more than deep set eyes or a low brow bone. Hell, I'm running around spritzing myself with toner and moisturizers too. :blushing:

Well if you don't agree with a theory, do you typically laugh at that person to
Their face in your daily engagements?

That's cool.

I don't find her to have feminine features IMHO when you strip away the hair.

Masculine and feminine features are directly related to hormones.

Look at Aileen Warnos. She was an extreme case of this. (poor girl also had environmental factors creating "the perfect storm" of psychopathy).

IMHO

Essentially the testosterone is an after effect of the brain having an over abundance of serotonin early in development (in utero) via the mother. The brain becomes "tolerant" to serotonin in the baby, most typically passed to males as MAOA is carried by the X chromosome.

Since serotonin and psychopathy go hand in hand, I believe the lack of serotonin regulation in the males in some cases may cause erectile dysfunction. Also the thrill isn't in the sex for a male psychopath like it is with the female. The female can use sex to manipulate/control their victim so they enjoy and utilize sex often. Male psychopaths tend to take pleasure in the "chase" of their interest - what they can say to get the girl, how drunk she is so they can take advantage, etc...

Furthermore, the females use sex for control. The men can't necessarily manipulate/control women with sex.

Psychopathy is measured by a continuum. We all sit somewhere on that. Most of us (at least from first appearance) are at the beginning of it. We have psychopathic traits that manifest themselves in specific and personal ways in each of us.

People like Jodi are further down on that continuum far from where we are.

It isn't black and white. There is so much variation in psychopathy with people in general.

I don't feel like Jpdi is as extreme as women like Lizzie Borden or Aileen Warnos - she isn't as far down on the scale as those women. IMHO

I guess if you examine it this way, it is compelling. And she did feel the need for breast implants, as though she did not feel feminine.

Could it be the dyeing the hair and all the makeup and little girl sexuality were a compensation for not feeling feminine?

ETA: Camille Paglia in one of her essays talked about tomboys (she included herself in this) who grow up and have to "fake" femininity: She said, "By the time we are doing the makeup and dresses, we feel like drag queens."

I think she meant hers psychologically: Girls who had grown up in homes where feminine things and clothes and dolls had NOT been stressed, and the girl was encouraged to feel free to act boyish if she wanted.

Then the girl finds out how pretty she is in her 20s and begins to do the hair and makeup and feels like a drag queen, like she is fooling men.

This could be part of JA's syndrome as well.

wow! Thanks for the Camille Paglia reference! I'm
Going to check her work out after I finish this reply!

Thank you!

I also thought you might find this so interesting!!!

Jim Fallon: Exploring the mind of a killer - YouTube

(another from the TED Talks series available on Netflix)

I've also wondered SMK given our many open minded convos:

do you think Jodi's borderline persona we see in court is simply her mirroring her victim Travis who could of had actual borderline or PTSd symptoms? Essentially, that the BPD symptoms she fakes are actually the symptoms of the true victim, TA? You can probably objectively explain how this might relate for me. You're very good at that!
