Barbie doesn't come with Ken. She comes with GI Joe. (She fakes it with Ken.)
nan, I think Paladin's point was that the remaining stigma against homosexuality encourages furtive behavior such as bathroom pickups. I think he's right about that. Not in all cases, certainly; some people (gay and straight) like the supposed "thrill" of risky sex.
But on the whole, Pal makes a good point: when we stigmatize an entire orientation, we can't be surprised if some with that orientation resort to "secret" sex so as to avoid the stigma. One appeal of bathrooms to those in the closet is that they can always claim they weren't there for sex; it's a lot harder to do that in a gay bar (though some have tried).
I'm sure Pal knows that lots of us have no interested in bathroom sex. (Or in Senator Craig, for that matter.)

I don't think that it was interpreted as a slam against gays. At least, it wasn't by me.Dead on, Nova. Yes, my statement wasn't a slam against gays.
Can't tell if he's got a wide stance or not from that picture....
LOL, Glitch. As a kid I used to borrow my brothers GI JOE to make him Barbie's boyfriend. Ken was there to give Barbie fashion, hair and make-up tips. My Barbie wanted a rough neck boyfriend.
LOL, Taximom. Maybe this is meant to be the Sen. Craig doll?http://theringlord.org/albums/album06/ken1.jpg

There are many gays in this country, most who do not resort to picking up strange men in bathroom stalls. I would venture to say that your assumption would be quite offensive to them.

bdsm Ken. Hmm. He's kind of attractive in an "I don't have a real penis" kind of way.
I think it's just invisible in that picture.
Not in my dictionary of life experiences. Sexuality is a spectrum - and where you fall on the spectrum can be anything from totally non sexual to the truely bizarro. Gay, Straight, Bi, or just a little curious and wanting to check it out once or twice - that's just points on a spectrum of sexuality. Unless you identify yourself as gay to yourself - you're not necesarily gay based on some arbitrary definition placed on you by someone else.

I also misunderstood, nan. Sorry.
But I do appreciate your pointing out that not all of us gays spend time disrupting the sanctity of airport men's rooms.
Oh, Nova, that is what is so sickening about Craig's alleged (and I'm buying it) behavior. He's so pathetic if it's all true. Not because he is gay.
Eve
Thanks, eve. I don't think anyone on any of the many "Craig" threads has had an issue with his sexual orientation per se. (Or if they did, I didn't "get" it.)
It's the hypocrisy. And arrogance.
