Possible lead in Susan Powell case, 8-18-11

Does anyone know where Josh is?

I read the ABC4 blog by the gut who says that Steve told him that Josh went midnight camping with the kids this past weekend. There is no update and I haven't seen a peep about it anywhere else.

IMO, Steve was pulling his leg, but what if I'm wrong and he really took the boys out in the middle of nowhere? Josh has plenty of reason to want to get rid of his oldest boy. He knows important details about what happened to Susan!

I realize that Josh appears to genuinely care about his boys, but it can't possibly be true. IMO, once a man has committed cold blooded murder or even conspired to cover it up there is no reason to trust that he wouldn't turn on his own child if he thought it would keep him out of prison!

This says that JP is in Utah to "fix up his family home to either rent or sell." I bet the camping story was just another diversion to occupy the media. (Sounds familiar doesn't it?)

Also here is something I hadn't heard before.

Graves said his brother-in-law had told people that he wanted to be in Utah for "as short a trip as possible" to fix his unfinished basement, deck and do some wall repairs. Joshua Powell planned to spend a couple of days making the home improvements, Graves said.

That really opens up some possibilities. What if Susan never left the home? After whatever happened happened, he could have buried her in the basement, walled her up in the walls or whatever, cleaned up the spot then maybe needed to get out of the house to calm down so took the boys camping. It would also explain his rapid move out of the home, maybe he couldn't handle being there knowing she was still there.

You are right. And LE did get to interview him early on. I bet the questions were:
1. Did mommy go camping with you?
2. Was she awake or sleeping?
3. Did she stay at the camping place when you came home?

The kids probably were sleeping the whole time though and couldn't answer any of the questions.
I have to wonder why the oldest said 'mommy is looking for crystals in the cave' though. That statement alone puts him at risk.
Was the Christmas they spent a few hours with the Cox's supervised by Josh or alone? You would think the Cox's would ask them questions if they were alone...so I get the feeling it may have been supervised by Josh. I doubt they have ever been with them alone. I wonder if teachers have sneakily asked them questions and reported to LE?

I wish I could remember the name...a woman who was murdered several years ago, somewhere in TX...she had left a diary in her desk at work all about the abuse from her husband and not believe anything he might say if she turned up dead or vanished...and eventually, he was in fact convicted of murdering her. He felt she was getting ready to move on, I think, or she was getting ready to do so.

The fingerprinting and DNA programs are so limited. LE has to find the body to prosecute more successfully in most cases! Argh. So frustrating. I jumped for joy when they found Caylee, thinking Casey would surely be found guilty. (Not guilty only a fluke like OJ tho)...in most cases I would think it would help seal the deal.

I agree that the kids may have drifted in and out of sleep. It is also possible that they were given dramamine or some other cold medication to "help" them sleep during this time. However, IF the initial problem was not planned, possible the children did witness something.

I am certain that they did NOT want the kids to be questioned in the beginning when things were fresh. However, as time has passed, these children are very young and their memories may not hold on to the specific details that could have helped in the beginning.

I am still praying for Susan. The heat is getting to the 2 P's. Watch your back boys - they are coming for ya!!

Praying for Susan. Another summer almost passed, and she has not yet been found. I think the detail that really kills me is the 2 hours that passed between the time that JP was told that his wife was missing and police were at his house; and the time he arrived at his house. I SO wish we could go back to that time and find out where and what he did during those 2 hours.

His songs disgust me and creep me out! Worst of all is that joke of a website they have for Susan. There is absolutely nothing positive on there about trying to help find Susan. Just a bunch of bashing. I know not everyone is interested in going to that website, and it's unlikely I will visit again, BUT I couldn't help noticing they have pictures of Susan that IMO seem unflattering. Susan is very pretty and I couldn't help but notice a couple of the pictures they have on there show her as significantly heavier. I think it just shows how pathetic they really are.

I think with this man anything is possible. Probale is another thing though. I believe she is deceased. Might have been taken out of the house alive. Drugged, put in the car, and dropped in a mine or a river. Even left out in the cold somewhere to die.

That would look like an accidental death......

Hi everyone. I don't post often, but I just had to when I saw this. You know how they implant chips in your pets so they can be found if they're missing? Why can't they do the same thing with humans? If I keep reading, I bet someone already suggested this!
