He is probably best known for his research regarding UFOs. McDonald was senior
physicist at the Institute for Atmospheric Physics and professor in the Department of
Meteorology, University of Arizona, Tucson.

McDonald campaigned vigorously in support of expanding UFO studies during the
mid and late 1960s, arguing that UFOs represented an intriguing, pressing and
unsolved mystery which had not been adequately studied by science.*

I don't think most people are ready for alien contact. Individual people are smart. It's when you get a bunch of those individuals together when they start acting like chuckleheads.

That's all the higher forms need is a bunch of chuckleheads. I love that word.No doubt Tom Cruise will be among those left on the mothership. That site Coast2Coast has some interesting photographs.

The people that claim they have been kidnapped by aliens, their stories sure are interesting. Did anyone ever see "Fire on the Sky"? That happened in AZ in the 70's. My parents used to own property right in the city where that took place. The movie sure is creepy. A co-worker of mine knows the real "Travis" and the consesus is that , he is lying. However he had several of his co-workers witness the whole thing.

A mile long UFO? How is something that supposed to be a mile long not make a lot of noise? Sure, they can use anti-gravity fields to disperse the atmosphere around them to stay afloat. But you'd think that would cost massive amounts of energy. It would probably help heat up the atmosphere too. Hey, there's your reason for global warming! Damn aliens!

And how is it that only a few people saw them?

Nocgirl, I saw that movie Fire In The Sky years ago. Good movie and scary too! I also saw the real guys on a Donahue show in his last days on tv, and what was most fascinating to me was that all of them took lie detector tests twice and passed. How can that happen if they weren't telling the truth? Definitely one story worth looking into.. I guess that's why they made a movie out of it.

--->>>Hmmm, I am wondering what time of day the sighting was?

Some of the sightings that I have seen TV coverage about or heard the people who 'saw' them, seemed like it was in the Dark Of Night. Most people probably watching LKL at that hour, er, hmmm.

TORONTO - UFO buffs will be over the moon if Democrat Hillary Clinton is elected the next U.S. president.

Clinton has said that as long as national security isn’t compromised, she would be open to declassifying files.

These could include documents from Area 51, the Nevada U.S. air force base considered by UFO believers to be the high temple of secret UFO activity.

Now that a presidential candidate has broached the topic of UFOs, it’s no longer a “toxic issue,” said Grant Cameron, who became involved in the issue during the mid-1970s after a personal sighting in Manitoba.

Stanton Friedman, a Ufologist and retired nuclear physicist, accused governments of keeping secrets like they are the “galactic police”.

He said the proof can be found by looking at what’s released when governments decide to make documents public.

“The trouble is you can only read one sentence per page because the rest is blacked out,” Friedman said.
