Possible Vandalism/Message To Daddy on Wall of Hope

"Multnomah County deputies are looking into possible vandalism at the Wall of Hope at Skyline School, where missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman vanished on June 4.

It appeared someone tried to rip down a handmade, laminated banner with the message "Helping Hands for Kyron."

"Other people who were visiting the Wall of Hope said they were upset about a message someone wrote on a sign. The message read, "I love you daddy. You will see me in another time and place where 'I' Kyron (Special K) is no longer in pain, where 'she' can no longer hurt me. Dad I am safe. I love you pop."

I think this is STUPID kids! Insensitive brats, around middle school age... NO respect...

ETA~ As I said I think its middle school aged kids being punks and haven't a clue as to what's really going on in this investigation.. IMO the things in their heads that they wrote so crudely on the beautiful Kyron banners, are nothing more than what they've been hearing from Mommy and Daddy at home for the past two months discussing what their opinions are on who, why, how, when, and where regarding Kyrons "disappearance"..JMO.. But I don't read anything into it other than that.. IMO.

Does anyone have a link to a pix of what sign the "vandal" (could use stronger word...) *chose* to write on? That would be interesting.

Does it look like some sort of "smiley face" at the bottom? Cheeks and a mouth? (I dont have any way to show you what I mean)?

I think it's a dig at TMH, saying that whomever wrote this thinks that TMH killed Kyron, and that KH should feel reassured that his son is no longer in pain or danger from TH.

And I think it's sick.

The article in the OP states there was a mentally ill man stopped and questioned, who "wanted to search for Kyron himself", but since there was no evidence of a crime, he wasn't arrested. I'm wondering about that...

I don't think the "she" necessarily means a woman.

Many men have extremely feminine hand writing.

Could have just been some thoughtless teens.

True, but not many would sign off with a chubby-cheeked smily thingy tho'.

The whole message has a feminine tone, IMO. The transition from daddy to dad to pop lends to it. Daddy is used twice without quotation marks or underscores, yet pop and dad are both either underlined or enclosed in quotation marks. The author was comfortable writing daddy without extraneous markings, but overdoes it on dad and pop, which tells me those words are not often used by the author. In general, girls call their fathers "daddy", while boys more often use "dad" or "pop".

Male or female, the individual who did this is disturbed, to say the least. Such a cruel act. :tsktsk:

In that respect, it could be seen as a threat against Terri.

I am sick to my stomach. Was this a code message? After reading on another site(not sure if I can mention it here) but a cousin of DS was performing his own search for Kyron and driving the same roads from skyline. hmmm very strange.

I am NOT an english major/expert. But from having many papers edited-underlined things stand out to me.

In the message:
the word no is capitalized
the word she had quotation marks around it and is underlined-is this for emphasis? (as in text yelling? SHE)
the word I had quotation marks around it as well, BUT then the I was clarified by stating "Kyron (Special K)" not only his name-but the name his father may have used as an endearment (I can't be too sure on that).
the word dad is capitalized and underlined 3 times
The phrase am safe is underlined
the word pop may be capitalized (may just be the handwriting) has quotation marks and underlined.

I,no, she, dad, am safe, pop seem to be the words focused on by the writer.

PS: anyone know what that squiggle is right about kisses?
If it is something that KH and Kyron did, or that KH does, it might give us a clue as to how close this person was/is to the family.

My thoughts:

-"Daddy" is not capitalized, odd
-Proper grammar, except for "I" is......which sounds like a child (purposeful?)
-Underlined words for emphasis (special meaning), on words I, Dad,Pop, She and I am Safe
-Quotations.....a child would not use those
-Is that a smiley face above the Kisses??
-Obviously an attention seeking statement, and very bold, it seems taunting to me. A vicious prank or a way for the perp to re-insert themselves into the case?

I honestly doubt that a teenager or middle-schooler today would use the words "Pop" or "Special K" - my kids would never think of those words.

It looks like an adult wrote it to get the most mileage out of it. Could be a sick stunt, or it could be something else . . . I'm not going to speculate.

*rumor*

I heard it was mentioned on the Kyron facebook page. Media watches that too.

It sounds like the police were called, but people also talked to the media. They should have kept shut about it, IMO.

If it was already on FaceBook then it was in the public view - the media did nothing wrong. Things posted on public websites are not private, so I don't see what difference it makes.

WE must have posted at the same time! :croc:

It's a smile (with cheeks). My daughter draws these on notes she leaves me all the time. Another reason why I think it was written by a female.

What's with the "Special K" and use of quotations everywhere? Special K is a type of street drug, if I remember correctly. What if it's one of the local kids? That's my first impression of this. Kids are the number one vandals, especially near a school and on their summer break (kids get bored and need some kind of cheap thrills). JMO.

Yes, it sure could be. If I were LE, I'd be very, very interested in this note, with the "special K" and smiley face thing...very, very interested.

Gender Genie agrees that it was probably written by a woman.

I never said it was 'wrong'. From what I understand (can't recall where I read about this), what was posted there was vandalism. I don't think there was mention of the note.

special k as a drug?

Hmm, that adds more to my original thought of it being a threat/message- but not in the 'to daddy' way.

What if adding it there, was just a way to get it into the message w/out additional red flags going up?

Dad and Pop are also capitalized. So are Time, Place and No. Other "t" and "p" letters are lowercase. The "y" is weird too at the signature. It's not constructed like the other "y's" in the note. It really looks like the sig line was written by someone else. The "s" is different too.
