Possible Vandalism/Message To Daddy on Wall of Hope

I think anyone in the Portland area knows by now that Terri is the person suspected of harming Kyron, so I don't take that note to mean anything as far as insider knowledge. Anyone who has even caught the story on the news knows that, as her photo appears right after Kyron's in every segment.

I still see this as an awkward attempt to add their two cents...very awkward perhaps, but not malicious.

I think LE should have a camera set up, I doubt the school does. Also, think it will have to come down in a month, when school starts, maybe just leave ribbons tied around a tree or something. But this is probably too much to have there everyday for...who knows how long...

I agree, and I'll just put it bluntly -- I think it was a tactless moron who gets some satisfaction from trying to make others think he/she has a spiritual/psychic connection with Kyron that resulted in a message directly from Kyron to his dad (throwing in a nickname, covering all the bases with "daddy," "dad," "pop," etc.).

Probably has told others of their "visions" or "conversations" with Kyron and may have bragged to others about having left a message directly from Kyron on the wall. In other words, a nucking futjob!

To me the handwriting does look feminine in a way. I have a friend who writes very similar to this...However - look at how hard the pen was used - letters are very broad...

(ETA: The above is what made me think male - the broadness/heaviness)

However in the word Kisses - it's written with a lighter touch. The letters are almost whispy (for lack of a better word).

Just catching up on this thread but given that the writing surface was vertical and not horizontal, wouldn't one expect the writing to change as the angle from which you're making contact with the surface changes?

I don't know what to think about the message that was left on the wall. It sent shivers up my spine. I think that it is the nickname "Special K". Maybe most people do know Kyron's nickname, I hope so because if not it kinda sounds like what a sick kidnapper might say to the family left behind. Using a nickname is a sick attempt to show the family that they know how special Kyron is, attempting to rationalize their sick behavior by saying that they have helped because Kyron is in a place where Terri can't hurt him anymore.

I don't think that Special K is a clue, but I did look around the web to see if Ketamine is ever used in bodybuilding. I found a very long interview with Nasser El Sonbaty where he states:
A lot of bodybuilders here in the U.S. are also using ketamine on a regular basis. They mix ketamine with nubain and take anabolic steroids, take ecstasy and cocaine and then sometimes go with this whole combo and compete with it.

Then the article notes how Ketamine is used in veterinary medicine and how it can be used in body building:
Clinically classed as a dissociative anaesthetic, Ketamine is a hydrochloride salt that is classified as a MNDA receptor antagonist like PCP (or angle dust), which induces a sedating state called dissociative anaesthesia, a high sought after by people seeking pain relief and numbness.

After reading through the interview I can really see why body builders would need strong pain relievers.

I didn't find anything to confirm what El Sonbaty said. It looks like he is very well know and have a good record in competitions. He says that he is unafraid of consequences so he tells it like it is, but I can see how people might see him as a bitter man who likes to talk ****.

Like I said before, I hope they checked the horse farm's med supply. And I'd REALLY like to know why Kaine asked that place to be searched.

She said in addition to those areas, searchers also have responded to requests from Kyron’s father, Kaine, about areas where the boy may be, including a horse pasture in Banks, which was searched Sunday.

I tend to agree it was some tone-deaf person trying to be comforting -- I know a girl who would say exactly this -- but something about it gives me the creeps. Quite similar in tone and style to a couple of people who have posted on various blogs-not-to-be-named...

but did LE take down the "note" on the Wall of Hope? or is it still up? Also, I have seen many different pics of the note, did LE release a pic to or are the pics just from random folks and news crews? TIA

oh, and one more quicky, could LE if they really wanted to, stopped the pic of the "note" from being in the media?

In my opinion that message might have been meant for KH (daddy), his father (dad), and the grandfather (pop). I believe it might have been, in my opinion only, a little reminder that KH has a brother in jail for something to do with a juvenile. I do believe we've all forgotten that KH has a life also which has NOT been scrutinized.

Of course, this is only my OPINION.

The note was blacked out with black magic marker. Someone made a big heart shape over it.

As far as I know the pictures were taken by the media, and posted on a news site.

Here's a picture with the message blacked out.

Stopped by the wall of hope on my way into work today. Somebody has blacked it out with a big heart. I left my own message of hope (although, unfortunately, I don't have much hope for him at this point). :(

Thanks fo the info! I appreciate it. Glad to know if it gone.

I think if LE had been quick enough, they may have gotten a judge to seal any photos of it. Maybe.

I don't know what the point of it would be though. Personally, I don't think the police consider this to be a lead. I think its just a very hurtful person who is not involved in the disappearance. Just my opinion though.

No. Not unless they considered it evidence of a crime and could get a judge to agree that the record should be sealed. Even then I'm not sure they could do anything about private photos that were taken before.

I appreciate that someone covered up the "message" with a heart. It would be a shame to have to remove the banner (an honest and sincere expression of compassion for the boy and his family) because of some idiot's misguided attempts at sentiment or worse, a sick and deliberate act of cruelty. However, does anyone know what all the red marker to the right of the photo is? It doesn't look like a message or even a recognizable image. It looks so random and doodle-y... that and I couldn't help but notice the unfortunate "You will be missed."

I'm starting to wonder if maybe this "Wall of Hope" should be removed altogether. It may be a combination of its being located near a school (attracting children and adolescents) and the case being high profile and sensational enough to have attracted and encouraged a certain lunatic fringe that it's no longer possible for it to remain a comforting symbol of hope and compassion. If I were KH, D or TY I wouldn't be able to go near it at this point.

Some of the writing seems to have faded and run -- I think that's what's going on here. The vertical streaks weren't drawn, they're from the ink running, and that has obscured the drawing. One part of it looks to me like it used to be a red heart.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned this may be a signing off with the letter "m" and not a smiley. Kinda like this =-)\/( Its the best I can do with a keyboard. Just a thought to add to the discussion.

That was my first take on it, too. Well, not that it was a signature, just that I didn't know what it was. When people were referring to the smiley, I thought they meant the word "pop" -- that word looked like it was made into a smile face to me. Took me a bit to realize everyone was referring to that squiggly thing to the right of it as the smiley! ;)

I didn't say anything but I saw that squiggle as an "m" too.

If it had any evidentiary value wouldn't the police have taken it down instead of covering it up? I don't know how long it was up before the police were notified but the fingerprints of the writer could have still been there if the writer put the non-writing hand on the board when they were writing.

I have been under the impression that LE was there because the vandalisim was the signs being torn down, and the note in question, was brought to media's attention by visitors at the Wall of Hope...

snip

It appeared someone tried to rip down a handmade, laminated banner with the message "Helping Hands for Kyron." The banner came from a Kindercare Center and was originally held up by 14 plastic binder ties.
The Wall of Hope is a display of flowers, supportive messages and other items placed there for Kyron.
Other people who were visiting the Wall of Hope said they were upset about a message someone wrote on a sign.
------------

Two visits ago we saw a balloon that had written on it in felt pen
"Tell the Truth Terri" "What did you do with Kyron?"

We talked to a local reporter about it (off the record) and she mentioned that there were other similar messages that they had seen that had been removed.

It is comforting in a way to go up, look at all the notes, prayers, take some balloons or a stuffed animal.. just about the only way I've felt we can show some sort of support to the family as we have seen K & D on the news up there pretty regularly..

But I have wondered what will happen when school starts..

Mixed feelings about it being up then...
