Doctors get away with quite a bit, you just don't hear about it. When I worked in medical records for a doctor's office, the stuff I heard was disconcerting, to say the least.

No matter the profession, there will always be those that break the rules, and there will be those that get away with it. That's the way life is.

Also, while the rules which govern professional conduct in the legal profession are written by lawyers, laws are written by politicians, which come from a variety of backgrounds, income levels, and walks of life.

Lawyers are grossly overrepresented in government. There is nowhere near an equal sampling of society representing us.

Also on Wednesday, The Florida Bar told the Orlando Sentinel that defense attorney Jose Baez is the target of an investigation related to the probation issue.

Defense knew Casey Anthony was on probation

During the hearing earlier this month, Perry asked the defense team if they knew Anthony was serving her probation in jail, which was against Strickland's order. Fryer admitted they did.

Perry again took up that issue in his latest order directing Anthony to report to probation, saying that, "the failure to abide by that order and the failure to notify the court of a known scrivener's error in the order may be a violation of an attorney's duty of candor."

"No attorney should conduct himself or herself in a way that impedes an order of the court. ... Our system of justice should never be in the position of rewarding someone who willfully hides the ball."

The Florida Bar told the Sentinel that it has an open probe into Baez — Anthony's lead defense attorney — related to him knowing about Anthony serving her probation, but not alerting the court that the Department of Corrections was not following the judge's order.

After so many complaints and inquires into this poor excuse for an officer of the court, IMNSHO, isn't it time that the Florida Bar Association review everything at their disposal re: JB? Can they take it upon themselves to launch their own independent investigation? Where there is smoke there is fire.

This was probably already discussed but I find it strange that this article doesn't mention anything about JB being investigated about what happened during the trial - what happened with that? Call me an extremist fine but depending on how this all works out, I might take the whole State of Florida off my vacation spot list. Who would have thought that a girl of average intelligence, FCA and her Murder trial, could be responsible for bringing to light the real behind the scenes game playing of dirty Defense Teams.

Is this person in jail or out on bond? And hasn't his case been postponed a few times? Was it postponed during the time JB was wining and dining in NYC?

..there are 2 clients, both going to court on the same day.

..freijoo was denied bond----alexis is out on $2500.00 bond.(plus curfew, no contact with co-defendant or victim/witnesses.)

..there were continuances april 28th and may 10th, the last continuance was granted on july 5th ( the day kc was found NG.) or he would have had to be in trial july 18th (the day after kc walked..)

I don't think there is any way he will go on and have a wonderful, successful career, though. He lucked out this time, but he would have to get a lot better to make that happen. He comes across as sleazy, IMO.

Back to your ditty of a post. :rocker: !!!!!!!!!I've found that most people who followed this case from way back in the beginning,whether they followed it here or somewhere else, those people smelled hink where jb was concerned. The first time jb escorted FCA out of jail and had her all crammed under his arm and had her face smashed into his ear many folks wondered what the heck was going on between jb and kc. Only a few short weeks later jb had kc driven to his office to hang out for more than a few hours a day, where as we know kc colored her hair and did who knows what else. Lawyers don't babysit clients. Imoo something extremely unethical was going on. My lord by the time the trial began unethical was the least of jb's problems imhoo.

JB ruined Roy Kronk's life. He ruined Goerge A's life too when he began trial with his lie filled opening. I think JB is as crooked and hinky as the road is long.

You're right, he won't go on and have a popular, sucessful career. No one truthfully wants to be represented by a lawyer who represented a baby killer. imhoo

I went to the link at that site called attorney misfits, where it has a link posted as "Florida Bar rules Casey Anthony's lawyer Jose Baez can introduce false testimony". i dont know how to copy a link or post a link to that, i tried below, it may not work right since i dont know what im doing. Any way, this is a letter from the FL Bar in response to one of these letters this person wrote to the FL Bar.

I think he not only embarrassed the State of Florida but also the Judges involved in this case. They are not taking it too well regarding the issue of "probation". Nope, not this time. I think he's in some considerable trouble with this latest blatant attempt to "fool" the system.

Just as a note - most bar investigations are confidential and private to start, at least in the state of Ohio. Generally, complaints are shuttled to different grievance committees, depending on the nature of the complaint, and an investigation begins. It's possible to have more than one investigation ongoing in different committees at one time.

These things also take time - generally, these are working professionals which volunteer their time for the committees and prosecution teams within the Bar. There's copious paperwork that is done in an attempt to exclude members from handling cases in which they would have bias.

One of the attorneys I work for is on a prosecution team for ethics violations here, and these cases take a ton of time to research. We are still in the process of handling two interrelated complaints that are miniscule compared to the allegations against Baez. So far, the investigation has gone on for six months, without even getting to the hearing phase. Now, it's possible that Florida may differ, but silence does not mean tacit acceptance - there could be quite a bit going on that's still in the early stages.
