Post Verdict -Working Out The Unresolved Questions

They have requested to withdraw a few times, Nurmi even more since he's been trying to get off the case for a couple years or something like that now lol...

I don't have a link though.

LOL! I think I looked at it twice before I noticed it.

Who the heck did she call? Media, admirers, new attorneys???? Bad for Donovan when they see how often JA called her.

I can't believe the State does not know who she was calling. Her attorneys, yes. jmo

I've heard of Nurmi's motions often, but this is the first I've heard about Wilmott's trying to withdraw.

I believe they both tried to withdraw after Jodi's conviction. I remember it being more than once for her, as well. This was in the news at the time.

One thing we know fer shure, C.M. has outdumbed herself once again. She knew every word on those jail phones was being recorded but her tongue runs on rollers and much of what she had to say over the months will now come back to embarrass her in the most damning way. Some of it will be slurs against her attorneys, we know that because she slandered them in tweets and on t.v. But it will be worse and Willmott was of the two, the death qualified lawyer. What now, C.M.?

True! I hadn't thought of that. They don't usually have court on Fridays.

JM is in the middle of the Chrisman trial but they are recessed until the 3rd. Now that would make sense that they would bring her in on Friday because that is the only free time JM would have right now. jmo

I don't think JA is going to be there, it's just the records that are being subpoenaed - it even says that no presence is req'd if they are delivered prior.

JM would already have access to these records, btw. They are state records and he is an officer of the state. Maybe they got a tip that he had asked for copies and figure they'd better find out what is on them? Probably to do with that twitter motion nonsense, but could be entertaining because JA has never learned to shut her mouth.

The tweets complained that the lawyers had not procured evidence that supported her abuse claims, some of it going back to "the letters", some of it photos and eyewitness testimony. She also said attorneys were profiteers off the experience of the defendants they represent.

I hope Arias does have to appear but yes, Maricopa Sheriff's Office may accommodate her by sending the recordings up in advance. Her being there would be far more interesting, especially to Willmott.

I'm wondering if the twitter motion nonsense comes from the fact that JA's only way of communicating to the outside--gaining attention--seems to be solely through twitter. She probably assumes that everyone has a twitter account. :floorlaugh:

The person being told to be there isn't JA - it would be the custodian of the records. Whoever the MCSO assigns to secure and carry them to JW.

Rather than seeing her there, I'd prefer to think of her sitting in her little cell all alone :jail:, remembering some of the stuff she had said and that the whole court is laughing at her and how stupid she was.

Obviously that won't happen and even if they were turned over in court, no one would get to hear them then, but I can dream...

Since C.M. is an inveterate liar, she may have denied or asserted something to Willmott that the tapes of her calls disproves. Lots of possibilities here--and why choose one? The tapes will probably cause her many, many problems.

I think so too, Tuba. You pegged the severance weeks ago, now we just wait and watch as more of JA's behavior comes back to haunt her.

Regarding tweets, these are still up, there may have been others that were deleted (which would likely be copied here somewhere in the thousands of posts lol):

Jodi Arias ‏@JodiAnnArias 4 May 9 days out of 10... that sounds about right.

Jodi Arias ‏@JodiAnnArias 3 May Hypocrisy bugs. Wish we could shine a spotlight on all of Juan's lies, lies he's made on record over the years in a court of law.

Jodi Arias ‏@JodiAnnArias 2 Jul A lawyer is someone who profits from your experience.

I just included the one about Juan because of its slanderous nature, the other two seem directed at her own attys.

Yes, some tweets were definitely removed, such as the very memorable offer to any producer who would like to film the truth of what happened. Actually quite a lot of tweets are missing even if you keep loading back into spring. I don't think she had a rush of discretion. I think someone found out about certain of the offending tweets & ordered her to expunge them.

So the subpoena says it's for the person to give testimony on behalf of the defendant. So it sounds like there is something there that they think could benefit Jodi in some way.

Bringing this over from the Legal Questions thread:

Hiding on the docket with all of the recent motion was the filing of a subpoena and affidavit of service recorded on 8/27. It was requested by Willmott to MSCO for the phone records of the defendant from 1/1/2013 to 8/1/2013.

There is speculation that the DT is requesting these records as part of their request to be dismissed from the case.

Does this seem likely to you? If so, what might they be looking for in her recorded phone conversations? If not likely, what other possible reasons might give rise to them requesting these records.

From a layman's point of view, this seems like a dangerous move to me, since anything in those phone records would be made known to Martinez through discovery.

That's odd. It does seem like a dangerous move--I would give the results a 90% chance of being damaging to Jodi in some way. And the date range is too broad for them to be looking for something specific that Jodi thinks will help her.

I'll keep nosing around. Now that people are becoming aware of this subpoena, there seems to be a lot of head scratching.

Wow, you guys could be right. This could be the shove that gets Nurmi and Wilmott out. That will mean sentencing will be delayed even further though, until the new Court-appointed attorneys get to review the case, strategy, witnesses, inmate. :sigh:

Unless Nurmi and Wilmott are reading here and got the idea from us that Juan could use the tweets if he chose in sentencing phase. Well, I would hope they all have more experience than that, and more interest in their own case. I doubt Juan would bring it up other than to point out another reason to keep CMJA in jail and point out her blatant disregard of Court Orders, laws, rules..., but getting out of jail really isn't in the cards, so I doubt he would bother.

It also would mean Donovan could go to jail for probation violation if still on probation, and if Donovan is the contact. Donovan should know better.
