Well, she saw three men and maybe even hooked up with Gus for all we know. Matt, Darryl and Phil (?). That is a lot of people for a less than a 24 hour period. Since she was on a mission I can't believe she would make time to see them unless she was using them for something. jmo

The deposits, the short visits with Darryl and Matt along with a lot of unaccounted time on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th make no sense at all.

She talked with Travis around 3 am for about an hour between two phone calls on the 2nd.

Testified that she got up around 5 am. Got to the airport car rental around 8; this is backed up by Budget car rental. Drive from Redding to Monterey should take about 4 1/2 hours. She claims that she had pulled over to sleep and met up with Matt late that night. What happened in all of those hours?

She said that she saw Darryl for about a half an hour on the morning of June 3rd. This was before his son went to school. Seems like the only reason she saw Darryl was to borrow the gas cans, not to visit and catch up with him.

She returned several hours later to give him a remote that was in the rental car.

I can just imagine how excited Darryl must have been to see her. After all, she did tell him that "we can't sleep together anymore, because I'm saving myself for marriage." She then hung him out to dry financially, with the house they bought together going into foreclosure. The bank took title to the property on 1/24/08, or about 4 months before this "friendly visit". My sense is that she had something on him; a normal person would not be jumping for joy to see someone who screwed them over so badly.

There is nothing straight forward about this woman or any of her relationships. Still so much that is unknown and the few people who do know something are not revealing the full picture.

Who knows what really happened on June 2-4? Maybe even Martinez doesn't know. Thank goodness she has been convicted.

I had thought maybe she was borrowing money from the men because she honestly thought she was going to Cancun. She thought she'd talk Travis into buying a ticket but she needed money to spend a week with Travis in AZ first. Or money to make him think she'd pay him back some for the trip.

It's possible Darryl held no hard feelings for JA leaving him with the house because he also left to move back to Monterey to be near his son. It would be obvious to him there was no way JA would have been able to support that home on her own. jmo

I had that Valero on the 2nd in my notes, I rewatched Day 5 to see all the receipts again and meant to google around to see if anyone found out what she purchased since JM only asked about the time, date and c.c. number/name on it, no location shows on it and he never pulled it down where we could see the purchase. No time shown on the Arco 2.77 gal. gas receipt either although I thought I'd found it somewhere but can't find it in my older notes.

On her bank statement, there is a transaction from Shell Oil in King City, CA, amount of 51.41 with a posted date is 6/05, King City is south of Salinas (google map):

Could this be the Valero receipt on 6/2 after the Lodi McDonalds purchase? Is Valero a Shell station? King City is 193 miles south of Lodi, CA (google map):

There is also a Shell Oil transaction, posted on 6/09 for 46.11 in Mesquite, NV, I recall this coming up earlier and thought info had been found on it but haven't located it yet.

We know she drove through CA on the 2nd/3rd and NV on the 6th so 3 days for posting c.c. transactions looks correct and the locations fit, wish we had a time for either of these since it seems no receipts match (can't tell about the last one 237.022 that was illegible). It does seem like she left the voice mail after the Mesquite gas purchase and knowing she was then in NV didn't realize the road cut though AZ before hitting UT.

There are more phone calls to add to the timeline I believe, if anyone has notes on those and wants to add them I'd be grateful, if not, I'll search 'em down.

Geevee and others who have focused on the camera and the memory card, I think I found something that will clear up part of the mystery.

For the longest time, I thought that the blue memory card could not have fit Travis's camera. I now believe that the blue card was in fact a duo pro memory card only for a Sony. The key is the number of pinouts on the back of the card; Sony has 10 pinouts while other camera cards have 9. The blue card in the exhibit has 10 pinouts and thus must have come from the Sony.

We know that Skater-screw-driver terror never happened, so she couldn't have been pulled over at all before AZ for any incident related to it.

Ryan Burns' testimony discussing her being pulled over. He said on the stand in regards to the upside down license plate that Jodi explained it by saying there was a skateboarding gang incident at "maverick or a restaurant."

So, two points. She'd already started the skateboarding lie on June 5th, and Ryan indicated a uniquely-named restaurant as where this incident had allegedly occurred. Ryan said "maverick or a restaurant" as if he wasn't sure, but this Maverick, if it existed in 2008, was within an hour and a half of where she had been known to have traveled.

My conclusion--she must have gone to Maverick. How else would that name be in Ryan's head unless she said it? Now, as far as Margaritaville is concerned, I believe he said that because she claimed to hurt herself on a margarita glasses rack. I don't know how to explain him confusing Maverick with StarBucks.

For this King purchase, I'm concerned about whether a bank statement would put an incorrect date for the charge. Are any other charge dates wrong or off as compared to known receipts? I ask because we had a theory about Matt being with her. It took her forever after killing Travis to get to Ryan. If the purchase was in the AM on June 5th, is it possible she dropped Matt back off before going to UT? I don't really buy Matt being with her, but it's an interesting transaction. And I am curious about her route going near that cell tower versus going straight up to UT.

I looked again at the transcript of Paul Stern on Dr. Drew's show, he talks about loaning her money, having met her at Ventana (he lived there but never worked there), her being frantic that night, but never mentions where they went that evening, also found a twitlonger page with a timeline going back long before she killed Travis, no luck there either.

Yeah, I think she was starting her tale of the skateboarders with Ryan, she had to say something when they got pulled over 15 minutes after meeting. And she had to make up a story about the cuts on her hands, she's a waitress, just made up the name of the restaurant (she probably heard that song on the radio soon before being pulled over lol).

I believe the posting date of the King City purchase (6/05) is correct, we just can't tell the transaction date or time from the bank statement, but other posting dates are three days after the receipt dates, so I think they are correct and posted 3 days after transaction, and we know she was in that area and travelling south, and we have no other gas recipts until she gets to Pasadena, so it's more than likely she had to stop after Lodi and before Pasadena, and 51. and change in gas sounds about right for a full tank with CA gas prices.

I was out this evening and passed by a couple gas stations, here the Shells and Valeros are different stations so I'm wondering/doubting if the Valero receipt could be this purchase (since the bank statement says Shell Oil) but maybe CA is or was different in '08, since Valero was a refiner and gas stations (here at least) didn't take the Valero name until the late '90s or early '00s. I'm probably confusing you again. lol

I'll attach the bank statement so you can look through it, it's the largest (most detail) one I could find. Pay no attention to the red arrows, not mine. The King City transaction is the first one.

Weird, Day 6 ends with Melendez on the stand and Day 7 begins with Nurmi's cross, I'll look more.

ETA: So far I can't find it either, see mentions of tawnidilly having trouble, I remember seeing his testimony and don't recall the stream being out that morning, really odd.

ETA2: After thinking more about it, I had to watch some of the first few days on YTs, not live stream, guess that's why had confusions about the calls, I don't think I ever saw JM's direct with Joey, maybe only his redirect. I'll have to look into it more tomorrow.
