So as for what she was doing on June 3rd...

I was listening to the interrogation tape 1. She said that in December of 2006, Travis had told her she could date other people. So she went on a lunch date with John Dixon in Pasadena. The next day, she had some kind of date or something with Abe--who looks about Darryl Brewer's age, if you ask me.

So maybe she saw John Dixon on June 3, if he was still in the area? Maybe she caught up to that smarmy prepaid legal guy who testified for her? Forgot his name but hated the term pyramid for his business. Oh, Gus Searcy. LOL, just thought of it.

Because I don't know what she was doing in Salinas/Pasadena from 330pm to about 830pm.

She claims their "official" BF/GF date was Feb 2, 2007. So that makes me apt to place the Sky/Chris/Travis email thing about Jodi around the end of January.

I don't know. I might have to retract this because Salinas is 4 hours from Pasadena. I thought they were a lot closer together. So after Walmart, she drove to Pasadena would have gotten there around the 8-30pm time frame.

Sky and Chris say that's how he was. He'd treat an argument as if it had never happened, and he was apt to believe Jodi's lies--even over Chris and Sky's words. So if he was like that, and she was able to convince him that this Steve person wasn't really an issue, then Travis probably went back to his original pattern of thinking. If she's not having a sexual interest in Steve, then Travis can go back to his sexual fantasies without worry. Does that make sense?

I feel you that the sequence sounds weird, but I don't know why JM would like a hearsay date into the trial. But here's a text, I'm assuming 5/2/08, where he's talking about the sex pictures he wants to take. It's possible--if JM didn't authenticate the date--that the sex call happened 5/2 after this text below. It would make sense then that Travis would be angry after 5/9 and talk about his stalker to Regan on 5/17 (right?).

http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/tabularasa6/media/155_zpsb611f76e.jpg.html?sort=3&o=162

See, that's what's so confusing to me, we know they at least dated (if not exclusive bf/gf) from Feb. - June of '07, and all of the sexy texts and phone sex and such should, and would seem pretty normal, to have occurred then, in '07, not a year later and the month before she killed him, when we know they were fighting and not getting along.

But one part of the phone tape that keeps sticking in my mind was Travis saying something about wondering how she came up with a date of them being bf/gf, that made me think they never really discussed actually being exclusive and maybe in his mind they were just seeing each other and having fun. And the stuff you found about Sky saying they only saw each other 4 or 5 times from later '06 until early '07 makes me think that even more.

Delving into this stuff makes me feel as crazy as she talks sometimes. lol

Yeah, the drive from Salinas to Pasadena makes sense for taking up the rest of the afternoon/early evening, so our time gap that day is after returning the remote to Darryl (10:30ish?) and going to Salinas. Where is Darryl's place? I forget. She said she had to wait a while and was at the salon for a couple hours - which makes little sense because it was a Tuesday daytime and not what anyone would consider a busy time in a salon (Tuesdays after morning rush hour is the time I pick to get things done because it's usually the least-busy week day/time).

Salinas was her hometown, she likely still knew people there, so what was she doing besides having her hair colored and maybe nails done? I'll give her the nails being done too because I found painted toe nails in the 'shoulder' 5:32:16 pic, there are fingers in the 5:33:32 'drag' pic but no polish on them so was never sure about that until I found the toes recently, so those fingers are probably T's).

The selfies were taken just before 2:30, right? And the Walmart receipt around 3:30 or so? 4 hours to get to Salinas and have the salon stuff done then?

On Cross, she only says she arrived at Darryl's before the child went to School. I don't know the child's age or grade, therefore, I don't know when his school could have started. Her bank receipt puts her in the area around 10:10am. She claimed to have been with Darryl for what felt like a half hour. That's insane unless he had to be to work. I can't remember if he was asked if he'd had to work that day and what time. I don't believe she saw the kid, had breakfast, checked myspace, and got gas cans in 30 minutes.

Maybe she took Darryl with her to the bank and costco. Too bad she didn't think she needed a third can while they were at costco. He could have bought it. In fact, I wonder if she asked him for money and they decided to go to his bank to withdraw money for her, and that was the money she deposited. She probably told him her account was on negative and he felt sorry for her.

If she and Darryl did go to the bank, I suspect they went at 10am, arrived and did the business at 10:10, arrived at Costco in Sandy City about 10:25, and she could have had him home about 11:15am. I'd give her until 1145am if dealing with the remote.

There's a "Do or Dye" hair salon in Salinas that opened in 2007. I don't know that she went there, but the name just screams Jodi, and it's old location is 2 min from Walmart. It's 30 minutes from Monterey. I'm probably wrong about it, but there's plenty of these places dotted along HWY 101.

So arrive at Do or Dye at 1215pm and use some cash from Matthew/paul to do her hair. Maybe they did nails and brows. She had makeup to do, too, for her pictures, which she took at 212, 225 and 228pm. Taking 15 minutes to take pictures of herself....

We don't know if she kept taking pics after these, how far the hair place was from Walmart if it wasn't do or dye, or how much walking around Walmart she did; however, we know she was at a walmart register at 322pm.

So from 330pm to 8:15pm, she was driving and arriving in Pasadena. (Do you believe Matthew was with her while she did all that? Or he met her in Pasadena? I'm not sure he was with her at all.)

Question about the rental car and the smell of smoke.

The rental company testified that the car had "kool aid" like stains. If these were blood stains from a significant amount of blood, would the car have begun to smell from that? Especially with the heat during that time of year? Could smoke have been a way to cover up the smell?

Possibly, after being in that bathroom she'd connect those two smells, also the smokiness as cover might be used to hide the gasoline fumes that had to have been in the car, with 3 gas cans that had been opened and refilled at least once it had to have stunk to high heaven in there.

Remember when we were looking at maps and found the big black pitchy area that turned out to be from a large wildfire? That could also be where the smoky smell came from, if she drove through that area. I have some of those pics saved but not sure I marked the locations (Nevada?), I'll have to look at them again and see.

Did Gus smoke cigars? For some reason I connect those two together. But it was sort of weird when JA commented in an interview saying how she'd live a long life because she didn't smoke, she gives away so many clues unintentionally, maybe she did. How about the friend in Utah that she gave the ride to? I can see her face but not recall her name, maybe she's a smoker.

I hadn't thought of Darryl going to the bank with her but that makes sense, it makes pretty darned good sense, actually.

Yeah, a half hour is cutting everything way too close - although the e-mail checking she said was when she came back to return the remote.

Found the CNN/Dr. Drew transcript when Paul Stern gave an interview by phone (scroll down about a third of the page):

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1302/06/ddhln.01.html

He doesn't mention how much he loaned her that night but does say she paid him back.

LOL good find, that Do or Dye hair salon sounds like just the one she'd choose given her plan.

No telling how many pics she deleted before keeping just those three, 15 minutes of selfies, that is so JA.

Was her credit card used on both the 8:41 and 8:42 purchases? Even if someone were with her, the card had to be in both locations within a minute of each other (and .2 miles, which is what, half a city block?)

Make no mistake, Geeve, I'm not saying Paul didn't give her money. I'm saying that she's sitting there with Paul's cash, telling Darryl that she'd broke.

When you try to figure out what Jodi did, the first rule of thumb is--unless it's verified by another source--you can't take what she says as truth. So maybe she checked the emails after--maybe she didn't.

Today, I went to Subway, and then I went to Dairy Queen across the street (Just like the gas station was across from Starbucks). I was so mad when I got back to the office and realized I didn't have my DQ receipt! Because I wanted to see what the times on the receipts said since I happened to make two purchases in a very short time span.

Like I said, I feel it's unlikely for her to happen to have two identical debit cards for her account. I doubt this because 1--she's single. Usually you get two identical cards if you're married or for whatever reason share an account with someone. I just got a new debit card. My bank never asked me if I wanted two.

2--Jodi isn't an organized person. If the bank doesn't automatically give you two, then you have order a second one from the bank. I think the likelihood is low that she went through that effort. It would, in fact, make more sense to give Matt cash to get gas while she's in Starbucks than for her to already just happen to have two cards. Only other thing is if Matt was with her, she charged the SB and handed him the card to take the car to the gas station, but we still run into the same problem of how fast he'd get over there to make an 842pm sale.

I don't know if I wrote it here or in another thread, but it would make more sense that one of the places' clocks was wrong. For Matt to be with her, it just opens another world of logistical questions.

Jodi would indeed to be insane to smoke and drive with gas fumes in the car. I recall seeing a youtube video of some idiots who were at a gas station pump and one flicked a lighter. They set their friend on fire.

I have no idea why the car smelled of smoke or what kind of smoke it was. cigarette or cigar smoke smells very different from the smoke of a burning forest or other burning materials.

Agree about the borrowed money from Paul as well as Darryl, and like was mentioned above, probably by check from Darryl with the 10% of deposit not available immediately.

The Starbucks and first Arco gas purchase were both with a debit card, if Starbucks is directly across the street then it wouldn't be that difficult, esp. if their register time is off by a minute or two. I don't think she had two debit cards either, but she clearly made both transactions by debit card and another person wasn't necesary.

Don't know about Arco (or using a c.c. to pay for gas, I go with cash and no receipts lol) but the time on it may be when it prints the receipt after finishing pumping, so she swipes card, puts nozzle in car, sets it to pump continuously, runs across street for Starbucks, she returns to car, takes pump out and the receipt prints, sounds doable.

LOL I don't think anyone smoked in or near her car when she was getting gas, but she did keep 3 full gas cans in the back until she got home (refilled all of them in SLC and then only pumped into the tank what she used on the last leg) and returned the rental empty, I'd be scared to death of having anythign that gives a smoky smell so close to all that gas in the back.

I so wish JM has asked Colombo the Budget guy more about the rental, the 'kool aid' stains, the smoky smell, maybe in his depo he didn't give much more info so he wasn't asked more on the stand, don't know but wish we did.

Do you guys want to build a time line based on the receipts, phone calls and pics? It'd be much simpler than constantly running around trying to find what she did when. I have some notes, I'll put what I have handy now, just copy and paste it and insert what you have or find and we can see in one list all the things she did and when, deal?

Question about the rental car and the smell of smoke.

The rental company testified that the car had "kool aid" like stains. If these were blood stains from a significant amount of blood, would the car have begun to smell from that? Especially with the heat during that time of year? Could smoke have been a way to cover up the smell?

Was it cigarette smoke he smelled or burning rubber, which would really stink up a car if the smoke had gotten inside the vehicle? Rental was returned without the floor mats which, I would imagine were full of blood.

I have two cards for my account and the last four digits are different and those are the ones that show up on your receipt.

The Budget recepit just says 'Smoke smell' under Remarks. Mr. Colombo did say he cleaned the car himself but I don't recall him giving any detail about what kind of smoky smell. Like he gave no details about the 'kool aid' stains, but there isn't anything on the receipt about those, strangely.

That 'smoke smell' was complained by Jodi therefore remarked at the time of rental on June 2. You can see that on the June 2 paperwork showing only the miles-out information.
Then when the car was returned on June 6, we can see the miles-out and miles-in information on another paperwork.

Her dumb butt would leave a gas nozzle in the car to go across the street, wouldn't she? LOL

My friend suggested that she went through SB drivethru, but that SB doesn't appear to have one. It was a good guess, though. Just like yours. It bothers me more because she put the whole screw-driving skaters in the middle of this, too.

Colombo was an idiot. How many red flags can you have? She kept the car a day longer, drove like 3,000 freaking miles on it, didn't fill up the tank, has stains all in it, stole the floor mats and her hair was different when she came back...man, why would you wash it and put it back in stock without a second thought? I'd call the police because that was too fishy.

Thanks, Lambchop, about the CC information. I'm inclined to believe it was just one card.

Thanks Geeves, about the timeline. I was making a google map with theoretical stops along with real stops, but what might be DB's address is on it, so I didn't think I should post it. I guess I can remove his supposed address and post it. Lambchop--is having his address on it considered Sleuthing him? I only located it so that I could time her trip to the bank and possibly costco.
