BBM ~ Or the bullet casing got tossed around during the attack, since there was so much blood which, imo would cause tile floors to become slippery.
Which is the other thing among many that bother me. Since the attack was so brutal, I am surprised Jodi came out unscathed. And, there were no knife blade ends left anywhere.
Be careful when you post images not to blow the margins. Thanks
No, not unless her grandfather is a liar as well.
He told the Yreka PD officer investigating the burglary that the magazine was fully loaded with jacketed hollow point rounds.
<modsnip>
She didn't need the wrong-sized ammo.
She stole a weapon loaded with the exact ammo made for it.
Not to mention that since the shell casing was found atop the blood, we know that she had already viciously wielded that knife with lasting and lethal effectiveness prior to pulling the trigger and putting a bullet into his brain.
The date/timestamps on the photos which chronicled the before and after conditions of the murder scene, the murderess, and her victim clearly proved when the murder occurred, where, and whom was present. Neither side challenged their accuracy or veracity. The hand print of the murderess in the victim's blood on the wall at the scene was incontrovertible.
Moreover, the defense never disputed that the defendant was there at the time of the killing. In fact, the defendant herself testified that she was there and killed the victim herself before heading north to 'adjust' and 'grind' Ryan Burns in Salt Lake City.
The two sides didn't materially disagree with respect to the general route she drove in the rental car from the time she left Redding until the time she returned, debate over un-returned WalMart gasoline containers and the Starbucks license plate skater pranksters notwithstanding.
The circumstantial and forensic evidence was overwhelming. Witnesses testified as to her whereabouts. When and where an inactivated cell phone couldn't place her, date/timestamps from 'deleted' digital images did.
Thus, the defense chose to acknowledge and attempt to rationalize this mountain of 'inconvenient' evidence as somehow supporting her choice to falsely accuse a former friend of pedophilia, stab him dozens of times, slit his throat and shoot him in the head, shortly before he was due to leave for Cancun with -- in her mind -- a competing love interest destined to be her victim's future wife.
Assuming that's what you meant by "if they ever proved she did it on the way down", that is.
I must have missed that testimony and I could have. There were days I just could not watch her on the stand. For some reason I thought she was still living in the home up until the time she decided to move to Mesa.
I have to say, too, is it possible we only have JA's word that they were dating exclusively. Was there anything ever from TA's side that claimed they were a couple? It seems to me in her relationships she is the determining factor as to whether or not they are an exclusive item. And if the male partner is not on the same page as she is his freedom to date anyone he chooses is considered by JA as "cheating". jmo
Yes, that is true the Hughes did first think that JA was marriage material but that changed pretty quickly when SH found out JA had lied to her. JA is a manipulator and apparently until you catch her in a lie most people were inclined to believe her. At the time Sky tried to convince TA JA was right for him because he was dating others, too. JA managed to stay overnight in many homes where she was not necessarily expected. Such as being told to leave Sky's home and JA refusing. Sleeping under the Christmas tree when she was politely told she had to leave because there was no place for her to sleep.
So that is what I'm thinking. Was there really ever a time they were "going together" since she wasn't even living in the same state as TA during their "exclusiveness". I don't believe she received candy on Valentine's Day from Travis in the form of mini candy bars you can buy at Walmart that were left sitting on her front steps. That never seemed to be Travis' style. I also do not believe he sent her the shirt or the underwear. When someone does something like that to mark an important occasion don't we all keep the handwritten note that he would have written? He excelled at writing. He was a busy man involved in his business at the time and I don't see him sitting down ironing letters onto a shirt and panties. I see him going somewhere to buy something, like Victoria Secrets. He could have done it but I find it more believable that Jodi did it. And I believe they were done to prove to other's that they were, in fact, dating exclusively and that he was cheating on her. jmo
BBM
Her hand print in her victim's blood on her victim's wall was enough to convict.
In addition to the pics there was also the .25 caliber shell casing along with her grandfather's recently and 'coincidentally' missing .25 caliber handgun.
It was all just too 'de-edifying' for her to be acquitted.

I believe that her hair was also at the scene, smashed in blood. It would be interesting to ponder how the case would have gone without the pics. Jodi might have stuck with an intruder story or told a different story of how things had happened since there were no pictures to prove where in the bathroom it began or how it ended.
Sure, she explained. It was Fog. No light from Rudolph to help her dial 911.
I agree that she really didn't know the pictures could be recovered, and she's not that smart. I recall her on the stand when JM asked her of she'd known her call with Flores would be recorded--the one where she says Travis had no gun--her reply in court was that of course her lawyer had told her. I felt like coming through the screen and telling her that if she'd actually been talking to a lawyer back then, days after Travis had been found, there is no way in hell she would have been talking to Flores at all. What lawyer is going to advise her to talk to the police for an hour on the phone and then go voluntarily for DNA swabs? Unless of course she was dumb enough to lie to the lawyer.
Oh, now that I think about it, the jury asked her if she'd had a lawyer during the 48hrs interview, and she said a public defender for her extradition or something of that nature. So she had no freaking lawyer advising her back then.
I know. Off topic.
Jodi is veil for knowing his near death story and making him face it again. Or could that be why she shot him second? Morbid empathy not to make him face a loaded gun again?
BBM ~ Did she shoot him second? :seeya:
IN my mind, I can picture her shooting him first, then he tried to get a hold of the gun. (As much as many experts and medical community believe that a gunshot through the head would incapacitate someone); would it? What if the bullet totally bypassed the brain? The body was already decomposing and Dr. Horn testified the brain matter was mush. Then Wilmott went off on the definition of "mush"..
I know she was still in the house when Travis came to visit her with the dog because she said the dog fell in the pool. So she could have moved out sometime in late May or June of 2007 and moved over to Big Sur with Matt before moving to Mesa. Somehow I missed it. LOL You can only listen to her for so long. I don't know how the jury did it. At least I could turn it off and on at will. jmo

I just meant the hair dye. I know how much she lies & I enjoyed watching her get caught in her lies since she thought she was so much smarter than everyone. In the grand scheme of things I know the hair dye doesn't matter much, it's more of catching her in even more lies that I was wondering about. But thanks for all the other info...love your posts!
How very special. There are 6 members and that includes Donovan.
