PR interview

Curiosity got the better of me. I've done a word count of Patsy's 2000 Atlanta interview.

Patsy spoke for 16% of the time.
Lin Wood spoke for 36% of the time
Everyone else (9 others) combined spoke for 48% of the time. The others were:-

11 MICHAEL KANE, Esq.
12 BRUCE LEVIN, Esq.
13 MITCH MORRISSEY, Esq.
14 MARK R. BECKNER
15 TOM WICKMAN
16 TOM TRUJILLO
17 JANE HARMER
20 Ollie Gray
21 John San Agustin

:-)

i.e. This was Patsy's interview, but Lin Wood did most of the talking.

IMO..he was afraid that Patsy would slip up. Just like John dominated the tv interviews that they did together. More times than not...he would answer questions for Patsy, that were directed AT HER. He...imo...was afraid that Patsy would slip up and say something incriminating. imo

It's been a long time since I've read this...still trying to get through it.
Thought some newbies may be interested.

Thanks, we appreciate it, I hadn't seen this before.

Does anyone have a link handy to the statement referenced? This was mentioned in the very start of the transcript.

9 That's our intention, we want to move this case
10 forward. It's been some 14 months, I think,
11 since your previous statement

OHH that part just gets me...*plenty of ppl finish steeping the tea bag in the glass, whether it's hot or cold! You just add ice afterwards.....she knew that ! But PR's.."I just don't have a clue !!!" is an obvious lie. I bet she said that in her best southern voice too(batting her eyes as well) ! And we drink it here ALL year round ! In the winter, hot chocolate or coffee is the best to warm up with.

13 PATSY RAMSEY: I don't know truly.
14 TOM HANEY: Take a little breather from the
15 pineapple and let's talk about the glass, do you drink
16 hot tea?
17 PATSY RAMSEY: No.
18 TOM HANEY: Iced tea?
19 PATSY RAMSEY: Iced tea.
20 TOM HANEY: There is December 25, iced tea
21 year round.
22 PATSY RAMSEY: Mostly in the summer.
23 (inaudible).
24 TOM HANEY: Anybody else in the house drink
25 any tea?

1 PATSY RAMSEY: Burke drinks iced tea in the
2 summer time. (inaudible).
3 TOM HANEY: You can tell me about the glass
4 and the tea bag, how those got to be there?
5 PATSY RAMSEY: I don't know. I don't. I
6 mean, I make iced tea. I usually boil it in a pan, put
7 the tea bag in and let them steep, and then transfer it
8 to a pitcher and add the sugar. (Inaudible).
9 TOM HANEY: How about that particular glass?
10 PATSY RAMSEY: That is a water glass.

JMO8778,

Do you notice how Patsy, at 6. tries to sidetrack with a story about how she makes tea?

Then again at 10. she answers a different question from the one posed by Tom Haney?

I would like to know if JonBenet's fingerprints were on the spoon found in the bowl, if not, then whose?

Also who is encouraging the drinking of tea, at such a late time of night, along with a plane flight early the next day?

Looks to me like someone made tea in a mug or cup, stirred it around, then deposited the teabag into the glass, try drinking hot tea from a glass, it is not kind either to your lips or fingers.

So did JonBenet have her pineapple snack, followed by a glass of coke or juice, then someone else used the empty glass to deposit the tea-bag?

If JonBenet's fingerprints are not on the spoon or the bowl, then its possible that someone else snacked from that bowl, and the actual bowl and spoon used by JonBenet was washed up the following morning by friends?

10 PATSY RAMSEY: That is a water glass.
I cannot see JonBenet drinking water, maybe she did, is that the hint from Patsy, or did JonBenet drink something else, with the water being another false lead?

Is it possible that it was JonBenet who drank the tea?

e.g. whilst she snacked on the pineapple someone made her hot tea?

In my opinion, I don't know of any child that likes hot tea. So, I don't think that it would have been JB drinking it, but I could be wrong.

I'm thinking the tea bag in the glass was more symbolic than anything.

-Tea

I'm thinking the tea bag in the glass was more symbolic than anything.

-Tea

Tea, (well YOU are the best person to be asking this question to..lol)....why do you think that the tea bag in the glass was symbolic? What, in your opinion, did it represent??

What kind of tea was it? Black tea?

Well, I am not sure what kind it was, but whatever it was...it was made for an adult to drink, not a six year old. IMO Most kids do not like things that are hot, unless its hot chocolate...and with my five year old, I have to add COLD water to it. LOL Sorta defeats the purpose of HOT Chocolate, doesn't it?

yes, and yes.both indicate deception.

I would like to know if JonBenet's fingerprints were on the spoon found in the bowl, if not, then whose?

Also who is encouraging the drinking of tea, at such a late time of night, along with a plane flight early the next day?
I'd like to know those 2 things as well.

Looks to me like someone made tea in a mug or cup, stirred it around, then deposited the teabag into the glass, try drinking hot tea from a glass, it is not kind either to your lips or fingers.
could be.I was thinking it was warm though, not hot,and the tea bag was placed in the glass to get all the flavor out of it.I've seen ppl press a spoon against the side of the glass or cup to squeeze the last bit of flavor out of it.and then ice can be added.
PR's emphasis on the way *she makes ice tea made me wonder about that.

If JonBenet's fingerprints are not on the spoon or the bowl, then its possible that someone else snacked from that bowl, and the actual bowl and spoon used by JonBenet was washed up the following morning by friends?
could be,but LE said the pineapple in the bowl was consistant with the pineapple found in the bowl, right down to the rind.so maybe she ate it with her fingers,if her prints weren't found?

I cannot see JonBenet drinking water, maybe she did, is that the hint from Patsy, or did JonBenet drink something else, with the water being another false lead?

could be,or was if for BR,or or PR herself?to me it seems all 3 of them sat at the table at some point and had a snack and/or something to drink bf bed.
I think I recall it was BR's fingerprints on the glass?anyone know for sure?If so,then BR was coerced into lying about it,b/c of the story about JB going straight to bed?

Is it possible that the tea could have been left out BEFORE they went to the White's Christmas party? I agree with UK, why drink tea at 10 at night, or later...when there is a trip to go on the next morning. Unless Patsy needed the caffeine to bring her back from those cocktails that she had at the party, so that she could pack.

could be,LHP says the R's never put anything away themselves, she had to do it all.that's why I think the pineapple was forgotten about..she left everything for the housekeeper to clean up,and she was scheduled to come the next day.

Could have been done that way, and with Burke's fingerprints on it he is a candidate for the question When did you last drink from that glass?

could be,but LE said the pineapple in the bowl was consistant with the pineapple found in the bowl, right down to the rind.so maybe she ate it with her fingers,if her prints weren't found?
Possibly but there was milk in that bowl, and I guess a spoon is needed for that, yes but how about two servings of pineapple, one for JonBenet and one for Burke? Without JonBenet's fingerprints either on the bowl or the spoon, then I reckon JonBenet ate her pineapple from another source?

Burke obviously knows more than he has ever revealed, he certainly knows if his parents statements about JonBenet being placed into bed right away, and her walking upstairs are correct, he will also know if he sat opposite JonBenet while she snacked pineapple, or was the water glass from an earlier drinking session?

Curiously I wonder why the water-glass was so important it merited questioning Patsy about, and little was mentioned about the bowl and spoon?

Was Patsy just being Patsy when she uttered:
10 PATSY RAMSEY: That is a water glass.
e.g. We drink water from glasses in our house!

The inference being the tea was drank in something else.

The tea could have been left out BEFORE they went to the party, and the pineapple could have been left out AFTER they got back. Just because they were left out together, doesn't mean that they were left out at the same time. And goodness knows, Patsy and John were not going to tell the truth. They probably left out the tea before the party, but when confronted about it, decided to make it like the intruder left it out, by denying that they knew where it came from. Which is ridiculous....one of them should have just admitted to drinking the tea, because what sort of intruder is going to come into a home, prepared to kidnapped and/or murder the daughter, but before he does, makes himself a glass of tea, and sits down at the table to drink it?

I totally agree with what you said about Burke. And I caught that too...Patsy saying, "that is a water glass". Like WATER is the only thing that can be put into a "water glass". I agree, she was trying to make the inference that when they drank tea, it was in something else...like a tea cup, I imagine. IMO...she was just trying to point the finger away from herself or John.

they denied both the glass and the bowl,so it seems they may have been left out at the same time?
oh yes,that pineapple-feeding,tea drinking,kidnapping-molester-turned- killer..strange guy he was.

Yep, they could have been left out at the same time. But, I don't believe that Burke or JB was drinking tea. I just couldn't see a nine year old or a six year old, taking the time, or knowing how to use a tea bag. And, a kid would have wanted to add sugar...LOL I believe the tea belonged to either Patsy or John...I am leaning more toward Patsy, though.

22 PATSY RAMSEY: No. And JonBenet didn't like
23 iced tea or tea at all. I mean, did somebody -- do we
24 know what all of those people in the house that morning
25 did? Because you know there was a bowl of something in
0485
1 that Lennox China bowl, you know, with stuff in it that
2 somebody had out. Did somebody put all of this out
3 then? Was that there since that morning? Did you ask
4 them, somebody asked all those people, the two social
5 workers?
