PR interview

Oh, Ames, she didn't need coffee, right? She'd had that cup of tea--you know, the one where she brewed the tea, drank it, stuck the cup in the dishwasher--but forgot that she plunked the empty tea bag into BR's discarded water glass on the kitchen table, where she was sitting writing the RN. ;):)

Shoot, I bet that she was buzzing around like a bee....hyped up on adrenaline...and the caffeine from that tea.

I'm one of the unusual people that don't need coffee to start my day. I am a teadrinker, but the only thing that starts my day is orange juice and a handful of M & Ms!
But as far as PR goes, why, on a morning when you would be rushing around getting ready not only for the trip to Charlevoix, but also from there- the Disney Big Red Boat cruise- WHY would you stop to wash out a jumpsuit that wasn't going to be packed anyway? Why take those extra minutes- it sounds from her timeline that they were calling it very close to the time the pilot was expecting them. I know it was a private plane and as such they don't have a flight to "catch" but I assume even small private planes have to file a flight plan and are given take-off times.
The whole R timeline of their schedule that day seems a bit off to me.

It seems off to me too. And I agree about that red jumpsuit....JB had worn it approx. a week before, at a dance performance. All of the kids had on the same outfit.....so, why in the world would she choose that VERY morning that they were leaving on a trip, had more packing to do, and not a whole lot of time....to wash it out? Seems strange to me....

LOL...the real reason for Patsy's inconsistancies...is probably because she NEVER MADE coffee at all that morning...and she was half asleep...and didn't know what the truth was. You are right...she should have just made the coffee first...and then she would have been more alert! She should have done that before getting ready....

Q. (By Mr. Hoffman) Just a typical weekday morning. Who would normally get up first in the morning? Was John generally an early riser? Did you get up beforehand, that sort of thing, go down and make coffee?
MR. WOOD: Are we talking about a typical Monday through Friday where the kids are in school?
MR. HOFFMAN: Right, nobody on vacation.
MR. WOOD: John was going to work?
MR. HOFFMAN: Uh-huh (affirmative).
MR. WOOD: Can you do that, Patsy? Do you understand what he is asking you?

Hahahahahah, Patsey is too dumb to understand the question, right :snooty:

Q. (By Mr. Hoffman) Can you describe it?
A. Just in general, get up, get the kids ready for school. He would go to work. I would do things around the house or shopping or school volunteer work and pick up the kids. And that was about it.
Q. When you would get up in the morning, would you just generally dress first and go down and start preparing meals for the family, or would you go down, prepare the meals first, and then go get dressed?
A. It was probably no set pattern, but usually I would dress first.
Q. I am sorry, you would dress?
A. I would usually get dressed.
Q. Before you would go down to the kitchen to prepare meals?
A. Yes. Usually. I can't say for sure, but --
Q. But --
A. Usually.
Q. Your best recollection. And then after you had dressed and gone downstairs, normally what was the meal preparation like for your family?
A. The kids would usually have cereal, I think, before school. Oatmeal sometimes, fruit, Pop Tarts, whatever was around.
Q. And you were generally dressed for the day by that time; and when that was done, then I just take it that you would just go about your business for the rest of the day, whatever that was?
A. Yes.
Q. Did you ever prepare meals in a more informal way in the morning, like go down in like, say, a black housecoat with something that might have like rose color flowers on it, that sort of thing? Ever prepare meals in the morning informally?
A. Oh, I probably -- I don't know about the rose color robe you are talking about, but --
Q. The black robe with rose colors, or anything like that.
MR. WOOD: Or anything like that?
MR. HOFFMAN: Or any type of clothing like that.
MR. WOOD: What do you mean when you say any clothing like --. Like a black robe with red roses, pink roses?
MR. HOFFMAN: Linda Hoffman-Pugh once identified her as --
MR. WOOD: Why don't you just be direct and ask her the question did she own such a robe and had she ever worn it. Go right ahead.
Q. (By Mr. Hoffman) Did you ever own a black housecoat with pink roses on it, or a black robe? I don't know if it was a housecoat or how you would describe it. I don't know how women identify these types of informal garments.
A. I can't remember. I know I have a white one with pink roses. I may have. I can't remember. I had a lot of robes

Notice how she never actually answers the questions he poses and wood helps her to elude.

13 PATSY RAMSEY: Pillows and things. Yeah,

14 this is the little pillow (inaudible). Her Christmas

15 doll.

16 TOM HANEY: That is 73, 74, 75, and 76 now.

17 PATSY RAMSEY: (Inaudible).

18 TOM HANEY: That I couldn't tell you right at

19 this moment. Do you remember any staining on that

20 pillow the night you put her to bed?

21 PATSY RAMSEY: No. It was dark in there, you

22 know.

23 TOM HANEY: When you put her to bed did you

24 turn on any lights that night, Christmas night.

25 PATSY RAMSEY: I don't think so. Maybe. I

0426

1 can't remember. I remember dressing her, her pajamas

2 pants on her. It was dark. I didn't turn on the

3 bright lights because I didn't want to wake her up.

4 TOM HANEY: But back up. John had carried

5 her up and put her on the bed, and then you took it

6 from there?

7 PATSY RAMSEY: Right.

8 TOM HANEY: But you never turned on the

9 light?

10 PATSY RAMSEY: I probably turned one on in

11 the bathroom looking for the pajamas. I would have

12 been in there.

13 TOM HANEY: How about this pillow, when is

14 the last time in the daytime would you have some time

15 on Christmas day gone in there to put away Christmas

16 presents, to do anything?

17 PATSY RAMSEY: I don't remember.

18 TOM HANEY: How often would say the pillow

19 case would be changed?

20 PATSY RAMSEY: At least once a week.

21 TOM HANEY: Okay. How about the rest of the

22 day, the bottom tucked in sheets.

23 PATSY RAMSEY: At least once a week.

24 TOM HANEY: Was there a particular day of the

25 week that --

0427

1 PATSY RAMSEY: I don't remember.

2 TOM HANEY: Okay. I mean, some folks are

3 pretty much on a schedule.

4 PATSY RAMSEY: I'm pretty laid back.

5 TOM HANEY: How about Linda?

6 PATSY RAMSEY: I know she did it once a week.

7 I don't know what day she did it.

8 TOM HANEY: So this particular sheet could be

9 on its last day of the seven or -- the holiday it could

10 be --

11 PATSY RAMSEY: Longer.

12 TOM HANEY: Was she expected to come in that

13 day?

14 PATSY RAMSEY: No.

15 TOM HANEY: 26th.

16 PATSY RAMSEY: She was supposed to come in.

17 She was going to come on Friday. Wednesday was

18 Christmas, so she was off on Christmas. She came

19 Monday, Wednesday and Friday. She was there Monday

20 because she helped me get ready for the party.

21 TOM HANEY: When you were getting ready for

22 the party did she do the laundry?

23 PATSY RAMSEY: I don't know. We were getting

24 ready for the party, you know.

25 TOM HANEY: Right.

0428

1 PATSY RAMSEY: Downstairs. She didn't come

2 Wednesday because it was Christmas. She was going to

3 come Friday after we had gone, and I left her a check

4 because she (inaudible) cried she wanted money.

5 TOM HANEY: But if she comes Monday,

6 Wednesday and Friday, and obviously doesn't come

7 because of Christmas on Wednesday, we have the sheets

8 on at a minimum, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, so three

9 days.

10 PATSY RAMSEY: Probably.

11 TOM HANEY: The maximum number going back.

12 PATSY RAMSEY: Maybe the next Friday.

13 TOM HANEY: Or last Wednesday.

14 PATSY RAMSEY: Right.

15 TRIP DEMUTH: Did JonBenet ever have nose

16 bleeds at night?

17 PATSY RAMSEY: Not that I remember.

18 Sometimes she might pick her nose, maybe cause it to

19 bleed, but she wouldn't have one of those, you know,

20 dry, you know, to hold her head back kind of thing.

Does that mean what I think it does? Blood stains on her pillow case? I was looking at the autopsy pictures on the Bubble Bath thread and did think at the time that it was a weird colour for mucous. It looked to me like it was some kind of stain or something. After reading this interview, this section caught my eye. Looking back at the pictures I thought maybe that is blood smeared above her lip under her nose. Maybe then that would support the idea that someone had here, (I can’t remember who, sorry) that it was prior staging in her bed. How else could blood have gotten on to her pillow case other than maybe from the wound on the back of her head? (I am not sure if the head wound was bleeding externally) Is it possible that if someone was hit in the back of the head that there would be a bleed through the nose? Also, I imagine that if her nose was bleeding wouldn’t the blood have trickled down her chin and neck onto her top? Perhaps more signs of staging there and more cleaning up?

Also interesting that PR isn’t sure about how long that set of sheets had been on the bed. I think I remember reading on this site or somewhere on the net that the housekeeper had changed the sheets prior to Christmas Day and that the Beauty and the Beast ones weren’t put on by her. Who then changed the sheets? Wasn't PR in the habit of having them in the washing machine when the housekeeper turned up in the morning? Weird also that her child was a bed wetter and her sheets didn’t get changed every day (according to PR in this interview) At least 1 sheet change a week? I don’t think so!

I have been trying so hard to keep an open mind on this case. When I see things like this, I just can’t help thinking that the parents had something to do with JB’s murder. It is getting harder the more I read on this to try to come up with ideas on how someone other than the Ramsey’s were involved. I don’t think I am really on the fence anymore, I think I just landed on the Ramsey did it side with a loud thud after reading that!

Just about to post this when I thought to read some previous posts on this thread. Sorry I had to copy and paste this, I don't know how to do it any other way.

Now, why in the world is she asking about blood? This is the first time blood is mentioned in this interrogation, and she's the one that brings it up! Haney does not reply to her question...just moves to next question! Patsy is wondering why there isn't any blood on the drapery. Should there be, Patsy?! Is this the scene of the murder - not the wine cellar?

I caught that too....when I read bits and pieces of this interview a few months ago. I STILL haven't gotten through the whole thing. But, I after reading that about the blood...I also have wondered if that was where the actual murder took place...and then she was placed in the basement.

So she thought that maybe there was blood on the drapes? I wonder what actually happened in that bedroom?

Or why couldnt Patsy in a panic ran to lie her on the bed , and access the damage when she didnt seem to be responding after she had her skull cracked she could hae bled from the nose a bit after that.

YEP...thanks for posting this. She never got around to answering the question about the coffee, or making meals in the morning...because Wood, kept tryng to make an issue of the robe. And all Hoffman was getting at, was did she ever go down, make coffee or anything BEFORE getting dressed...like still in her robe or PJ's. He wasn't asking her that question because he was trying to figure out if she owned one. GEESH!

Yes, if it started in JonBenet's bathroom, it would be very likely Patsy carried JonBenet out of the bathroom and laid her on the bed to assess the situation.

This is exactly what I believe happened! I posted a couple of medical links, awhile back...that stated that in the case of severe head trauma, which...we all know that JB's WAS about as severe as you can get....blood, fluid....or both....come from the ears, nose, or mouth. I believe that Patsy did pick up JB, and placed her on her bed, to access the damage. If JB had of bled from any of those places, Patsy...imo....was in such a panic frantic...that she probably didn't even notice.

LOL!
Only way they could have had time for coffee is if she'd put it in travel mugs to drink on the way to the airport.(but then, why not just wait till you get there and buy some?).but she'd never mentioned they would take it w them, and they certainly wouldn't have had time for it b/f leaving, unless they wanted to be late over coffee. And JR wouldn't have allowed that. They prob. had a coffeemaker on the plane anyway.

yes they do,and they have to file another one and wait,if they wait too long. And JR being a pilot, doesn't sound like the type to let that happen, esp when they had the other kids to meet up with.no way.he wouldn't have wanted to keep them waiting.

I am thrilled to see how well the response went to my coffee concerns! Have a cup on me, thanks all!

I found another link that says she was heading downstairs to make coffee.

"Six-year-old JonBenét Ramsey was found beaten and strangled in the basement of her Colorado home on Christmas night, 1996. Shortly after 5:45 am on 26th December her mother, Patsy Ramsey, called the police to say JonBenét was missing and that a ransom note had been left at the bottom of the staircase, which she had discovered when she went to make a cup of coffee."

Here's one for you to break down, Ames! I think it was the first CNN interview where Patsy tells how she awoke, dressed and put her make-up on and then headed downstairs to make coffee........even though she still had to deal with the two kids and be out the door in 20-30 minutes.

I know that our Patsy was indeed one of a kind as most would stumble out of bed and head directly to the coffee-maker. This has always bothered me - especially knowing that she never mentions going to get the coffee brewing in any of her following statements.

RiverRat...I found the transcript of the CNN Interview that you were referring to.

http://www.cnn.com/US/9701/11/slain.girl.update/transcript.html

From Patsy's own mouth...

RAMSEY, P: I didn't -- I couldn't read the whole thing I -- I just gotten up. We were on our -- it was the day after Christmas, and we were going to go visiting, and it was quite early in the morning, and I had got dressed and was on my way to the kitchen to make some coffee, and we have a back staircase from the bedroom areas, and I always come down that staircase, and I am usually the first one down. And the note was lying across the -- three pages -- across the run of one of the stair treads, and it was kind of dimly lit. It was just very early in the morning, and I started to read it, and it was addressed to John. It said "Mr. Ramsey," And it said, "we have your daughter." And I -- you know, it just was -- it just wasn't registering, and I -- I may have gotten through another sentence. I can't -- "we have your daughter." and I don't know if I got any further than that. And I immediately ran back upstairs and pushed open her door, and she was not in her bed, and I screamed for John. "

RiverRat...I have went back and looked at all of PR interviews with investigators...and I didn't see no mention of making coffee in any of them, either. I believe that this is something that she made up, just to have a reason to head downstairs...therefore finding the note. But, as you can see...from another post above, that I made regarding an article from Vanity Fair...she has told three different versions...two of them she told to the same person.. French.

absolutely.she had to 'find' that note first..she had to have a reason to go downstairs....even so,in one of her versions, where she says she looked into JB's room *before finding the RN and saw she was *missing...missing shouldn't have been her first thought...her first thought should have been that JB might have went to BR's room (as she had done the night bf)or that she was in her bathroom, or went downstairs.

From the same interview.
JOHN B. RAMSEY, JONBENET'S FATHER: Well we have been pretty isolated -- totally isolated -- for the last five days, but we've sensed from our friends that this tragedy has touched not just ourselves and our friends but many people. And we know that there's many people that are praying for us, that are grieving with us
.......

RAMSEY, J: I know. Well, we were fortunate from almost the moment that we found the note to be surrounded by friends, our minister, our family doctor, a personal friend of mine who is also an attorney, and we relied on their guidance almost from that moment on and my friend suggested that it would be foolish not to have knowledgeable counsel to help both us and with the investigation:doh:

and I love this one:

CABELL: An FBI spokesman was quoted as saying at this point they don't regard it necessarily as a kidnapping. You think that's a wrong assumption?
RAMSEY, J: I don't know. I mean, there is a -- a note that said -- your daughter has been kidnapped. We have your daughter. We want money. You give us the money; she'll be safely returned. RAMSEY, P: It seemed like kidnapping to me.

They are in complete denial mode and twisting the facts to suit their story.

She has given three different versions...according to Vanity Fair...and two of them were to the same person (French). No, IF she actually went to check on JB FIRST before finding the note...I agree with you.....missing shouldn't have been her first thought. If that were my kid, and I had went to check on her and didn't see her in her room....my first thought would be ...as you said....that she was either sleeping in her sissy's room, or was in the bathroom. But, who knows what the correct version is? She has told so many lies, and so many different stories....who KNOWS what the truth is. I am sure it had nothing to do with "finding" that RN at all...since SHE is the one that wrote it.

The Rs have told so many versions of the story, so many lies...they probably actually believe their stories at this point.

Right...the RN said that if you talk to so much as a dog....she will be BEHEADED!!! But yet Patsy says...."Well, we were forunate from almost the moment that we found the note to by surrounded by friends, our minister, our family doctor, a personal friend of mine who is also an attorney....." Yes...PEOPLE that she called right after finding the note. So much for..."if you talk to so much as a dog, she will be beheaded".

I think so too...I think the same thing about Scott Peterson and OJ Simpson...that they actually believe that they are innocent.
