These are great! I like your faves too.

My votes for most over-the-top:
6-The Queen Mother triangles hat
32-Princess Margaret red feathers
43-Princess Beatrice butterfly fascination
45-Zara Phillips at William and Kate’s wedding

I was trying to think of a category to include that queen mum 70s chiffon fashion disaster - "best of the worst" "so ugly only a mama could love it" "step away from the glue gun!"

:)

I like all your choices too.

This popped up on my recommended viewing with Comcast Xfinity streaming on demand:

People Magazine Investigates: Crimes of Fashion

(2018) Investigation Discovery joins forces with reporters from People magazine to tell stories of high-end fashion icons and their couture crimes that captured headlines. The adage"if looks could kill" takes on entirely unique meaning in the series, which grants People's journalists exclusive access beyond the catwalk to reveal that fashion can sometimes be fatal. The hourlong tales of depravity, obsession, and family betrayal in the fashion world all have a common thread -- cold-blooded murder.

Two episodes so far: Linda Sobek and Maurizio Gucci

La Louve, this looks fun! Sounds a bit like us, they should have consulted us first. I love ‘Couture Crimes’

The 70 Best Royal Hat Moments of All Time
70 Best Royal Hats in History - Most Memorable Royal Family Fascinators

my faves: Princess Margaret in peacock feathers
Queen Elizabeth in a blue flower embellished hat in Tuvalu
Princess Diana in navy netted veil hat (1988)
Princess Beatrice in white feather burst hat
Duchess Catherine in red fascinator with maple leaf accents
Duchess Catherine in blush hat with oversized under-brim flower

I can't get over that one pair of earrings that the Queen and Princess Diana were all through the 80s! And into the 2000s . It seems like 80% of the photographs had them wearing a pair of earrings that had a big pearl and a tiny diamond on each ear.

Is it wrong to hope that Beatrice doesn't have an upfront role at Eugenie's wedding so that we have opportunity for hat hilarity?

Prince Charles reportedly refers to Meghan as "Tungsten" because she's so "tough."
___

In other news....

"Meghan is being told she needs to stop dressing like a Hollywood star and start dressing like a Royal. Meghan wanted to wear a tuxedo-style suit but Harry said it wasn’t traditional enough." (for her trip to Australia later this year)

Report: Meghan Markle "banned" from wearing this by Prince Harry on her trip to Australia

and...

While the couple have made Nottingham Cottage — a 1,300-square-foot, two-bedroom in the compound of Kensington Palace — their starter home, they could be adding another piece of real estate to their collection. Queen Elizabeth is gifting Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate to Harry and Meghan

I haven't had a chance to peruse through the link yet, but this style of hat is my favorite. I just love the angle and the little flowers in different places.

Prince Harry stands firm as his wife wants to wear a tux (just like Princess Diana) on their tour | Daily Mail Online

Meghan looks great in chic trousers and cigarette pants. It "suits" her...

So, Meghan, my advice is have Stella create a black tie tuxedo evening gown for Australia. -- It could be fab.

I agree, she needs to ditch the Hollywood fashion concept. Hollywood fashion is not great, maybe an occasional knockout, but it's rare. It's all very cookie cutter; very short, or knee length, super tight like a tube, skyscraper foot ware, same hairstyle, or super low cut and see through for evening ware.

When I think of traditional I think of exquisite materials and cuts, less is more, and modesty while still flattering to the figure.

And, when you have a pretty face like Meghan, so many won't even notice she's being traditional... She needs help bringing herself out while maintaining protocol.

I love beautifully tailored English clothing. But I grew up in an era where we wore them, too. And, so well made, I still have a few favorites from 40 or so years ago. They are timeless.

I'd tell Harry to stick it where the sun don't shine. What a bunch of BS. I hope she wears it anyways.

I love seeing women in typical "men's" formal attire! There's a couple of metro Detroit restaurants that have waiters in tuxedos, and the women servers wear the same "black tie" attire. Some wear bow ties, some 4-in-hand, and the women sometimes wear an ascot. Very classy! Meghan should do her own thing and adopt her own sense of style :)

Loved the hats & fascinators. Okay - what is the difference between "hats" & "fascinators"?? They look the same to me! :D

Thanks BetteDavisEyes - interesting read!

They all must have very LARGE closets/shelves for all these hats. Do they EVER where the same hat twice?? LOL!

I fear what horrors are being designed and created for Beatrice and the Duchess of York. I also dread the horror that Princess Anne will appear in it will be something awful from the 1970s I bet. I don’t know what happened to Princess Anne she was stunning when she was younger. Then she adopted the loaf of bread hairstyle and her taste in clothing went. Sorry if you are reading this Princess Anne I am sure you are a nice Lady.

Wondering if it's possible her unhappy marriage had an effect on her? Possibly no longer having a desire to play dress up. It's also possible that she became one of those mothers who focuses a lot of her attention on her young children and then sort of "lets herself go" or decides that outfits and outings are no longer her priority or her thing. She's an outdoors type of woman.

I'm horrified to think of how she is going to behave at the wedding. She's not a mean or selfish person, she just seems very absent minded sometimes; speaks without thinking, gets excited easily, poor money management, overly trusting, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if she has ADD/ADHD. I'm not trying to mean, I just think it might be a possibility. I did like the outfit she wore to Harry's wedding. It worked well with her body type.
