I wish the press would back off her a bit, especially after the Diana thing. She is learning the ropes and has done remarkably well, IMO, despite the noise from her family. The Queen knows about family problem with the abdication of her BIL, and her Annus Horribilis. And Charles.

I don't think so. She certainly didn't have time for races when filming in TO for the last 7 or 8 years. So I would suggest not.

Also, IMO she doesn't have an athletic body type. When the cameras add 10 lbs, actresses and tv anchors have to watch their weight. IMO

She said this in a 2015 interview:

As I’ve gotten older, running has become hard on my knees, so I can’t run outside the way I used to, but I’m still planning to run a marathon!
The Meghan Markle Interview: The Future Royal on Yoga, Travel and Love

So she hadn’t run one at that point. I think dating Harry probably changed her plans and ability to train.

Kate, who is quite athletic, is quoted by someone in this article saying that she can’t run marathons because of security.

HRH Princess Anne was on the Olympic team for Great Britain, her daughter Zara Phillips won an Olympic medal. Both careers included international competitions.

HRH the Princess ROYAL - British Olympic Association, IOC Member since 1988

The horse & rider both sweat!
I forgot that Ann-Princess Royal had competed in the Olympics many lifetimes ago. It's different for her daughter Zara, she is not a Princess, she and her brother (along with their spouses) can and have done whatever they want to including having regular 9-5 day jobs.

Security in a marathon is much different than security during horse competitions.

In this day and age it would still be poor taste for the Princes/Princesses to exclusively represent Britain in a competition. Their job is to represent us all.

Your knees are 'old' at 25, if she has knee problems running at 40 isn't a great idea.

I realize there are many elderly people who keep on running, must have great knees in the genetic sense.

Absolutely! There is huge investment in the horses ( and I am skipping finding a link ) so little extra security would be needed for one rider. The circle of international competitors is relatively small, an outsider would be easily recognized.

1976 was after Munich, the Olympic security was likely very, very serious in Montreal for all the athletes on all the teams.

(If you aren't sure that you remember these Games, you may recall Olga Korbut & Nadia Comaneci.)

Very expensive to match that level of security for one runner in a marathon!

Meghan, stick with yoga, I'm sure the RF security folks are up to yoga!

BTW, didya catch the piccies of the Spanish Royal family on vacay???

No comments on Meghan's appearance for the wedding.
The bride was beautiful and had such a nice dress.

Happy Birthday Meghan.

Meghan Markle held Prince Harry's hand as they attended his best friend's wedding in Surrey today, on the same day she turns 37.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were pictured at the wedding of Charlie van Straubenzee and Daisy Jenks at St Mary the Virgin Church in Frensham, Surrey, just months after they tied the knot themselves.

They both look great.

Meghan looks happy in today's wedding pics . Happy Birthday to her. Would her birthday wish be that her father / step sister shut up?

I don't know why Meghan doesn't take a look around and copy what she sees others wearing to a summer wedding.

The bride looked lovely and the dress was an excellent choice.

Love that Daisy and her new hubby rode off on a bicycle built for two, just like the old song!! Great that.......LOL

IMO, Meghan has missed the mark again. Wonder why she is sticking to such dark colours on a summers day? Is it black or dark navy?

I realize there are 'panels' at in the skirt area but........not a fan.

Now, with the RF on holidays I wonder if the DM will just show the children of Princess Anne playing at horse trials. At least they seem to live pretty regular lives.....which is nice and more natural than the Cambridge children.

Wonder when we will get a look at Zaras' new baby girl? Soon, I hope

I like Meghan's outfit well enough, I suppose, but it's too serious and conservative for a summer afternoon wedding, imo. It's always nice to let the bride be the center stage, and perhaps that is what Meghan was doing. I hope so - it was a "blend into the background" type dress.

Love Meghan's hat, though!

And the bride's dress is very pretty and so is the veil. Very fresh and bridal looking.

Harry is more and more handsome every day.

Well Meghan's brow stylist got the brow right. Her brows used to look so manly to me.
I need a brow stylist. Yes, I read someplace that she has a brow stylist.

Lovely wedding pics of Daisy Jenks and Charlie Van Straubenzee. I love the bride's look. I pretty much always love flowers on a wedding gown or veil. That photo of the couple on the three wheeler is sweet.

Meghan looks like she's going to a business lunch, followed by tea with her granny. I think she should have skipped the fascinator. The dress has enough visual interest on its own; the intricate headpiece in that dark color just makes the whole look questionable IMO.

Nice shoes though.

ETA Happy Birthday Meghan! And Harry's friend Barack Obama, and Harry's late great grandmother the Queen Mum.

OT does anyone else here have August 4th prominent in their life or family's life?
My maternal grandfather's parents were married on August 4th as were he and my grandmother. And I have left [escaped lol] two long-term jobs on August 4th.

ETA #2 I like the knotted belt with Meghan's dress. Did anyone else notice one photo where it appears a lacy camisole can be seen underneath her dress? It looks like the button at the wrap intersection on the bodice must've come loose.

If she had worn her hair down, in soft waves, it would've complemented the angularity of the dress much better than that hideous headpiece (IMO).
